We stayed one night in a quirky little room (No 10), long and thin with the Fire Escape door at the end. Very clean, equipped with tea and coffee etc, spacious bathroom, quiet room over looking a lovely garden. We did need the fan supplied (Thank you) even with the windows open it was warm. Staff were very friendly and helpful, a 10 min taxi drive to the station with regular buses running into town just outside. Comfortable stay.
Bedroom was quirky, clean but small. Our room price didn't include breakfast and we eat elsewhere since we thought £30 was on the steep side for breakfast, but apart from those little hiccups it was a nice stay.

We stayed at this hotel as a family for just over a week, while here we suffered a medical emergency. The staff were incredible & ensured we were looked after in a time of need, ensuring our granddaughter could stay an extra few days. Particularly Nazlee went above and beyond for us always. Written on the behalf of my grandparents, I can’t thank you enough for the help and support while we stayed with you! The beds were also extremely comfortable, the showers incredible and the breakfast was lovely too!
There was nothing we could think of that we didn’t like. The only thing we had to point out was about the bed, we were told that due to having several guests one of the beds in the room broke. But it was fine all morning, we went out & the cleaners came in; then later that evening when we came back it was only then we noticed it was wobbly. This isn’t something we would say we “didn’t like”, we were just confused as to how the bed was fine when we went out and wobbly when we came back but we’re told by the owner that it was us and our guests that had caused the bed to start being unsteady.

The host was particularly helpful even before my arrival, as I needed assistance with navigation as I could not use Satnav. After a fraught drive on 2 motorways & despite enjoying the beautiful scenery due to an unexpected detour, I felt relieved to arrive at such a 'homely' looking hotel. Not here the usual long reception desk which graces many chain hotels, but a fine gentleman making me feel very welcome, who carried my bag for me & gave me a choice of two rooms, both on the ground floor. as I'd requested. Such a comfortable bed too & the best nights sleep I'd had for a week and woke to the sound of birds singing. Continental breakfast 1st day but full English on my 2nd morning, before my drive back 'up north'. Such an enjoyable stay so it's 5 Stars from me !

We were able to book in early & leave our luggage as we expected to be out all day until late. A friendly greeting on arrival made us feel that we were not putting anyone out by being so early. Everything was so calm. We had a beautiful downstairs room overlooking the pretty garden.
Can’t really think of anything apart from breakfast seemed a bit expensive as for health reasons I can only have a little fruit and yoghurt and literally one egg & bacon, so a two tier tariff may have been a good option, although I am probably in a small minority so am not complaining.

Great location - easy from motorway, minutes from town and free parking. Good size rooms - clean, comfortable and quiet. Great shower. Friendly, professional and thoughtful welcome - mindful of the weather forecast that said it was going to be very hot, they took extra time to check I was happy with the nice and cool room they'd selected. The whole building is very well-maintained and there is a beautiful, well-looked after garden at the back. I repeatedly use this hotel when visiting family.

This is a beautiful period hotel. It is tastefully decorated and feels timelessly elegant. Not a scrap of modern blonde wood anywhere! We were warmly greeted and invited to take a seat in the very comfortable sitting room whilst completing the check in process. Our bedroom was towards the back of the house, it was comfortable, warm and restful. The tea/coffee facilities were generous and the bathroom spotless with lovely toiletries and thick, soft white towels. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the pillows perfect and we both had the best nights sleep for a while. Breakfast was hot and plentiful with both continental and full English breakfast available. If you are looking for a generic, corporate and bland hotel, then Beech House is not for you. But if you want a warm welcome, a comfortable bed and a sumptuous breakfast… well book now!

Nice size room with large bathroom. The shower was really good. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking available right outside the property
Central heating came on in the morning which made it much too hot (with no obvious way to turn down radiator). Wasn't too keen on the giant bedspread as it didn't look like it was cleaned regularly, so would have preferred it wasn't on the bed. The hotel pre-authorised my card for 1 night in advance, without warning, then I paid the full amount for both nights on arrival. After over a week, the pre-authorised amount still hasn't been paid back into my account, which is less than ideal...

I loved the service & friendliness of the staff. I especially liked the owners assistance when I first arrived to connect me with my overseas adaptor and their WIFI. I also enjoyed the Victorian appeal of the hotel and the traditional English breakfast experience.
I would have benefited from knowing what public transport options may have been available nearby to avoid having to secure cabs each time I went into Reading.

Very welcoming staff who couldn’t do enough for us, including sorting out an early breakfast as our daughter’s graduation ceremony was first thing. The hotel was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, roomy and comfortable. Our shower was nice and powerful too. It was also nice to be able to park on site for no extra charge and only took 20 minutes to walk into Reading town centre. Thoroughly recommend and would stay here again.
Nothing to fault at this hotel.

Magnificent communication and help before we even arrived. The hotel sent a little message asking about arrival time. I advised that we would be early as we had a wedding to attend. Within an hour, they responded, with taxi numbers and advice around travel and locations to help us. Upon arrival, they had a room ready in case we needed to change. Check-in was swift. We ordered breakfast for the next day, seamless. Breakfast the next day was plentiful, the quality of hot food was great, as was the coffee. The room and general hotel were immaculate, hospitality outstanding, and staff amazing. All in all, fantastic.
The bed was a little hard for me, but that's personal preference, I still slept all night.
