This place is immaculate, Gillian has thought of every little detail, right down to a magnifying mirror, which us girls will understand the need for at times! Night lights for the bathroom breaks in the night, necessities incase you've forgotten anything, wonderful soft towels, very comfy bed. Breakfast choice was amazing, you would never leave hungry. Would have loved to have breakfast outside, but the weather prevented that, still, there's a wee table inside for such an occasion. The only thing that made me sad, was that, due to our commitments, I didn't have time to luxuriate in the huge bath (with a wineglass holder, to hold your glass of prosecco) 🥰 Although we didn't need anything, I am sure Gillian would help with anything you'd need, she's an excellent hostess. Have already recommended to others, and can't wait to stay again in the future.
Loved everything ❤️

Very cozy, small and clean apartment with private bathroom, large bed, small kitchenette and breakfast ingredients, lovingly prepared by the hostess. Very nice details such as a wine glass holder next to the bathtub, personalized furnishings and a very modern bathroom. The bed is rather soft, but very comfortable and would be good for two people. I did not request wifi and do not know if it exists. Small deck in front of the bedroom where you can sit comfortably in the evening, you can hear the river rippling and enjoy the peace and quiet. The apartment is in a very good location right by the Cruden Bay golf course on a road with little traffic and the room faces out the back. Nice walk to the abandoned castle on the cliffs, on the way there you can see gorse bushes and walk through a small forest along the river. Excursion tip: be sure to drive to the next town, Newburgh, and go for a walk on the seal beach! There are hundreds of them there and they are friendly and curious. For me as a golfer, this was a very nice stay and the perfect accommodation. Cruden Bay is a special golf course and I had sensational weather in May. However, the "harr" (fog) can very quickly turn a sunny day into a gray tragedy, unfortunately I experienced this on two days and it is part of it. Generally, May to June are the best months for a vacation, the gorse and heather are in bloom and the temperatures are already very pleasant. Regarding the hostess Gillian: her communication and friendliness were outstanding, I would come back anytime!
Room is pretty small, there's hardly any space for luggage or other things, but sufficient for 1-2 people. Not much going on in Cruden Bay during the week, the pub was empty, but you come here to relax, so everything was okay! Other than those things, this was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing stays I had!

The house is set back from a quiet road and your room is at the back. Cruden Bay golf course is accessible through a gate. Stillness should be guaranteed - you can sit outside in sun or shade in sheltered surroundings. Listen to the flow of the Water of Cruden, the wind in the trees, birdsong or even rain falling! Everything you’re likely to need is here - and more. Superb bathroom. Many facilities are remotely controlled. Well stocked fridge and a microwave. Umbrella if needed. St Olaf Hotel less than 8 minutes walk away where you can obtain cooked breakfast and other meals. The logo is “RR” - Room on the River - the ‘Rolls Royce’ of B&B. ‘Bee Happy’
Quite honestly, I doubt if the accommodation could have been better. It far exceeded my expectations. Expecting Freeview, I was treated to Netflix and YouTube. I liked everything about the B&B; the friendly welcome and guide to the room facilities.

Th owner is a wonderful accommodating and friendly host that makes you feel at home. The rooms are on the first floor with private entrances at the back of the residence. The house was designed and constructed as a B&B, with smartly designed features. Although the room is on the smaller side, it is efficiently designed with a nice size bathroom. Full-size tub and shower. A very large assortment of quality breakfast items provided in the room kitchen nook. Very convenient off-street parking in front of the B&B. Very comfortable bed and linens. Impeccably clean. Plenty of USB ports on each side of the bed, motion senor foot lights in the hall and bathroom, great design features.
A small table or larger vanity in the bathroom is needed to put your toiletry bag on. Although very comfortable, the bed is on the small side for two adults.

Extremely comfortable room with own entrance in a great location for the village and surrounding area. Breakfast arrangements perfect for me - wide range of food provided in fridge in room so no pressure to eat at any particular time. Owners friendly, welcoming and very helpful. (Somehow the Kitchen Fairy magicked away the washing up each day and restored everything to order - amazing!)
Didn’t dislike anything here - it worked perfectly for me.

11 out of 10 - new and beautiful, with the host making everything feel luxurious. Massive bathtub and comfy bed. The breakfast was all pre-setup in the mini-fridge so we could do what we wanted when we were ready. We felt bad that we ended up being late due to weather and Gillian was so accommodating - meeting us out front in the rain!
A tiny bit hard to find, so look at the photos or be prepared (we weren’t) but Gillian actually came out to meet us. What service!!! It is tucked right up against the side of the river with a shared driveway.

The room was very clean and comfy with a very modern touch. Loved the fridge, which was filled with a great choice of food and drinks. The bed linen and towels were of a real high quality. Everything we needed was at hand, the hosts had thought of everything. Loved having the privacy but knowing the hosts were at hand if we needed them. Our hosts were so pleasant and helpful, responded immediately when I did get in touch with them. The bathroom was very modern, too, and done to a high standard, red hot water at hand. Highly recommend this place and would certainly love to stay again. Thank you Gillian and Dougie, you have a great place.
I loved it all.

The location was perfect and absolutely gobsmacked with the room was way above my expectations and the Host provided everything i needed. Looks onto a golf course and has a decking area just outside your French doors. Very quite and peaceful too
Nothing can fault this place whatsoever, The ensuite has a bath so nice to relax after a long hard day at work. The host welcomed you with open arms and is very helpful. there is a restaurant just over the road to have a lovely meal from

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the way the B&B functions with the separate entrance to the room and the corner with the small fridge, microwave, cutlery etc and all the goodies Gillian left for us to make our breakfast. The variety and quantity was incredible and there were even homemade pancakes :-). The room is beautifully decorated and we loved that it was right on the river so we could hear the soothing sound of the river and the birds that also enjoy this beautiful setting. Gillian is a very attentive and kind host and went above and beyond. We cannot recommend this place enough and would love to stay there again.

Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated self-contained bedroom and bathroom. Very good facilities, including kitchenette with fantastically stocked fridge, dishwasher, small microwave oven, Alexa, smart tv, good wifi etc. Excellent communication from Gilian, ensuring we had everything we needed, including replenishing any items we wanted for breakfast on our second morning. Nice to have use of garden area outside room with table and chairs where we ate our breakfast.
