First and foremost the warm welcome, the room was lovely, the staff member who showed us to room etc were very attentive. Next food, delicious and plentiful you will not be disappointed. This couple provide a fantastic service and so do their team.

I didn't really have any issues. A very small down mark on cleanliness, essentially there were some cob webs and spiders but hey it's winter, it's a castle and they were high up. the place it that cosy that if I were a spider I would try to stay there too. Remember Robert the Bruce they are also very motivational wee creatures so if at first you don't succeed try try again.

Amazing owners who went out of their way to help us with our travels due to taxi shortages, giving lifts to and from station and local attractions. Gary is great company made us feel very welcome and is full of amazing fun filled banter. Carol is an amazing cook, her pie was so delicious, my husband ate it three times in a row! The rooms were warm and comfortable with tea making facilities. The bar entertains locals too who were all friendly and welcoming.

No other facilities in walking distance so had to rely on owner for lifts. Really needed own transport as local trains were cancelled several times.

From the moment we stepped in we felt welcome .the owners can't do enough to help you.. The rooms were spotless with good quality linen. They had a private new year function on .However we were asked would we like to join in as they would make room for us.UNfortunatly we had other plans. The 2 bar staff were really friendly . The compare Phil for the night was so funny and entertaining setting up the tables for the nights entertainment.Food was 5star both our evening meal and our breakfast.Good quality food cooked well. Thank you for our incredible stay.we will be back

The fact we could stay longer

Lovely bar and restaurant which is very tastefully decorated and is very comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff and regulars who clearly love the place. Good food served with a smile. Easy parking outside our room. Very quiet location so very peaceful. Dog friendly too - Benson the German Shepherd is a gentle giant and so well behaved. A good location from which to explore Hadrian's wall and forts or to visit the lovely town of Hexham and other amazing places. Great walking and cycling country. Blenkinsopp Castle Inn is a lovely place to return to after a long day exploring the area. Thank you to Carol, Gary and thier lovely team.

Our room, number 4, was very spacious and pleasant but there were obvious signs of a previous water leaks in the ceilings which didn't look good, particularly in the bedroom. The location of the TV (on the left hand side of the bed) meant the picture was not as clear as it could have been had it been placed on the wall at the bottom of the bed instead of the mirror. Not much free drawer space for clothes so we put alot of stuff on top of the extra bed - not a problem if you are only staying for one night and don't intend unpacking. The double bed mattress is quite firm but we slept well despite this. WiFi signal very weak (possibly due to the location).

Food was.... incredible.... Best two meals in a row I've had in 30 years. Most of the staff was excellent as well as the owner....

First night's dinner took an hour and a half to arrive from when we sat down. Perhaps a booking issue? But the host made up for it... just one of those nights I suppose... Room was clean and comfortable but little character when you think of "castle".... perhaps my expectations were too much.... however, overall a very pleasant stay thanks to the owner, the staff and probably the finest cook in the UK ....

We had a good stay here. We had an excellent meal in the evening of our arrival and the breakfast was also very good. It was a very comfortable room . Only one issue. There was a step in the bathroom up to the shower . The wooden flooring was the same across the floor so it was easy to miss seeing it. Both my husband and I stubbed our toes and at one point caused me to trip and fall . A brightly coloured safety strip should be fitted .

We had a really great time at Blenkinsopp Castle Inn. The room adjacent to the inn we were staying in was beautiful and spotless clean, the food at the inn was delicious! Our hosts were the loveliest people and we much enjoyed the stories they had to tell. The inn is also only a short walk away from Hadrian‘s Wall Path, which we were on, so quite suitable for hikers who are definitely in need of a lovely meal at the end of a hiking day.

We got cottage for 3 persons, one big bed and one sofa bed. The tastefully decoration of main building was where we checked in, had unexpected delicious freshly cooked dinner and breakfast. Our Cottage was big enough for 3 and nice big bathroom, cozy nice sleep. The staffs were very cheerful and welcoming, also very helpful to drive us back to our Hadrian’s Wall Walk path the next morning. He even refused to take money but we insisted since we knew the gas price nowadays was skyrocketing. We thanks for all the hospitality that we received on our stay.

None. The walk was along the small villages, this place consider very convenient not far from our path.

Our annual " winter pilgrimage" to meet up with family and swap Christmas gifts was excellent. The venue was first-class, and the food, drinks, and hospitality were excellent, as always. We received a lovely welcome from the lovely owners and staff See you in a couple of months.

I have no complaints, other than we wish we could have spent more time here..!!
