Location is excellent, close to Quinta avenida. The staff is very responsive, especially Guida, she was super helpful and attentive. The hotel is comfortable and very clean. The reception is open 24/7. It is especially great for those who want to explore Playa del Carmen and the surroundings (from the hotel they can help you with excursions and recommendations for many activities).

Because of the proximity to busy streets, for us it was a bit too noisy. There was a bar with live music until late (one day 2am). The breakfast is exactly the same every day (choice from 5 egg options, fried beans, toast with jam and butter, juice and American coffee) so I don't recommend it if you are staying longer than 2-3 days. The best beaches (playa Punta Esmeralda, Playa 88) are not in proximity (20-30 minutes walk, which can be problematic when very hot), but we easily got taxis (for about 5-10 euros, funnily the price varies for the same distance, so you have to negotiate).

Great location, easy to get around. Staff was very helpful and helped us organize our daily trips from hotel several months in advance. Big kudos goes to receptionist Giada who not only helped with booking all the daily trips, informing me about the prices in advance etc, but also made sure we are on schedule with each trip knowing what to do. All in all it was a great and relaxing stay.

Would need some renovation since building is visibly old

The front desk staff was great. Very helpful. They gave us a coupon for a discount at the Vagabunda restaurant, which was great. Explained tours to us etc. The hotel has a great location a block away from 5th Avenue, and near some good restaurants. The pool and courtyard was nice, but small. Hotel had good hot water and AC, and a safe to put valuables in. Our room had balcony overlooking the courtyard, which was nice.

On our last day there, they put some disgusting looking stained sheets on the bed. I brought it to the front desk's attention and she was horrified by the picture I showed her. She said she would tell the manager. The common areas like lobby sitting areas and the stairs were dirty. I did see a maid mopping the hallway, though. We didn't always get our toilet paper and soap replenished, and had to go to the front desk and ask for more.

Breakfast was always the same but delicious and enough for us. Eggs (you can choose from 5 types), juice and coffee. The restaurant is right next to the pool, easily accessable. Air conditioning stopped working on the first day but such happens, we got a new room immediately. The hotel is located just one street away from the famous long walking street in PDC but already far enough not to hear the noise. The hotel does not have its own parking lot but we could always park the car just next to the hotel, on the road. It is 10 peso per hour, and you need to pay from 10am till 10pm. The pool is nice but in shadow during the whole day, therefore the water is very cold.

Warm washing water came very slowly, we usually had to wait minutes till the water was warmed and we could have a wash. It was not an issue for us but for the 1,5 year old baby.

Great location, the room has everything you need, including mini fridge and hairdryer. EXCEPT hot water in the shower, wich was a big problem for me. The best staff I found in the whole trip, specially a girl from Italy. Beautiful but shaded pool.

There's NO HOT WATER for the shower, ever! I called to check in the second day of my stay and they gave me a silly excuse and told me that it would get fixed. I spent 5 nights there and took a slightly warm shower every night. Also the hotel is older than it looks in the pictures.

King room setup was perfect for our 3 adults and 2 small children. Plenty of space to spread out and a little sitting area in the room too as well as nice sized balcony. Giada was also excellent at helping us find options for tours, transportation, and activities. She was very patient in answering all our questions and asking around for the best pricing.

Good location, a block away from 5th Ave. Clean, quiet, with a nice shady pool. Pool towels provided. Sweet little cafe downstairs - great breakfast! Nice people at the desk. Small refri, big enough for a 6-pack & leftover food box. Good hot water. Shampoo and soap provided. Elevator is a nice perk if you are on the 3rd floor as we were.

No towel racks or cups provided in bathroom...I asked for a cup - no. Pillows were lumpy, wished I'd brought mine. We thought we escaped the noise but a LOUD band played across the street on Friday night into the wee hours. Glad I brought my earplugs. Other than that night it was fairly quiet... sadly, a diminishing aspect in PdC.

The staff members - Giada, Margarita, Mirsa and many others went out of their way to make me welcome and comfortable. I will remember them fondly. The location of the hotel, close to Fifth Avenue but far enough away not to have the noise, and close to the beach makes it unique.

The proximity to a restaurant that played the same music every day all day was the main drawback. The restaurant itself was excellent in terms of food and service.

Location is everything. Absolutely in the heart of playa del Carmen. 5 min Walk to the beach. There are parking lots outside the hotel(although you have to pay). Also the price is very convenient. They provide towels for the beach. Good AC in the rooms.

Bed and pillows where a little to hard.

I liked the location, and the staff was very personable and helpful! I was always greeted by whoever was at the reception desk. Giada, in particular, was extremely helpful and explained the check in process very thoroughly. The room was large and it had a balcony. The A/C was cold and worked without problem.

The hotel is dated. The door opens with an actual key that goes inside a lock... no key cards here. The bed was on the hard side and not very comfortable. The drapes could use replacement and the televisions too.
