Really surprised by this hotel. Beautiful touches, and really thoughtful staff. You can tell that an establishment is well managed by the attitude of the staff, because they will be invariably cheerful and enthusiastic about their work and this was the case here. I’m sorry I didn’t photograph my breakfast! It was absolutely stunning. Everything is hand cooked to order. My bed was so comfortable I didn’t need my sleeping tablets. My room was absolutely huge and had everything in it I needed, including a hairdryer and an ironing board which was surprising. Lovely and clean, intriguing old house, beautifully kept. Wish I had spent more time in the lounges or in the bar. I will come back as soon as possible.

Nothing at all, it was great. The location is excellent. The only thing is that there were lots of drunk people screaming outside in the street in the early hours of the morning, but that had absolutely nothing to do with the hotel and was completely out of their control.

Stayed one night in the Willmington Suite. Had a work meeting during the day and the staff were fabulous, allowed us to take over a lounge, provided refreshments and couldn't have done enough for us. The suite was a lovely surprise very tidy, clean and comfortable. Only downer was it was so hot! The heating was on high, and I had to open 2 windows and prayed for a breeze. The room otherwise was perfect. The onsite restaurant was delightful once again staff where very attentive and the food was delicious and the portions big! This really his a gem of a place and I hope to return

Hot room...

I loved the location, so close to the beach, in a lovely area of town, very bright and not too busy, easy to walk to from the station. A beautiful building, inside and out. I loved the quirky lounge areas, one with a grand piano and one with retro board games from my youth, a record player and some lovely old books. I spent my morning there drinking my coffee and bathing in the sunshine from the large bay window, truly glorious. The breakfast was perfect 👌 and the staff all polite and friendly. I felt so calm and looked after there and definitely want to go back .

Nothing, I loved it all. Thankyou for a perfect stay.

The property was lovely, my room was cozy but it was perfect for my one night! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was lovely and clean. It was nice and quiet when trying to get to sleep. My room was facing out the back of the property and I had no problems with noise. The parking was brilliant, I arrived around 1:15PM so knew I was early for check-in, I was able to be checked in at that time which was a bonus! It was clearly signposted when you got closer to the town centre which was helpful. The breakfast was lovely, and was cooked to order which meant it was nice and warm! All of the staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful.

The decor was, as mentioned by others, a little dated but I think that isn’t a breaking point at all. It fit the character of the building. The only downside on breakfast was not having any dairy free spread for my toast, not the end of the world!

A wonderful older hotel. There's a small car park at the side for about twelve cars which was handy. Very helpful staff on reception who were happy to let me use the car park as I arrived way too early for check in. Nice decor and a pair of lovely sitting rooms one leading onto the small bar. My room was very large. I had twin beds. The shower wasn't the largest but it worked well. Well stocked with tea and coffee in the room. The hotel is in a great location right next to Devonshire Park the Stage Door pub and a short walk to the seafront. I had a nice cooked breakfast with good service. A very enjoyable stay. I will be back at some point.

Very little to not like. The shower wasn't the biggest but that's the tiniest gripe.

Welcome was EXCEPTIONALLY friendly on check in. Nothing was too much trouble for the reception staff on arrival and rest of staff throughout the stay. Location was perfect for Airshow. Above average size for single room with handy extras included plus free WiFi Please note this review was for my son travelling solo (aged 29)

Nothing at all Only tiny gripe nowhere to put shower stuff in shower cubicle so had to step out to get bits while soaking wet. Perhaps a little shelf/hooks?

Room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The hotel provided a good hospitality tray, and soft towels. Everywhere was very clean. When we were out for the evening, our room was refreshed. Reception was friendly and efficient. Free car parking on site was really appreciated. There was a lift which was a welcome surprise in an old building. The location was very convenient and in a quiet street.

Breakfast on our first morning was lovely, but on our second morning, we noticed that the items were different- no hash browns and baked beans although we said that we didn’t want any when we ordered. We asked for toast and had to ask again as it didn’t arrive. The breakfast was fine, but not up to the standard of our first morning. On checking out, it was pointed out that the room we had been given was not the category we had booked and so the hotel kindly apologised and deducted from the price of settling the bill, but although we didn’t really mind, it was a little disappointing and we weren’t really sure why this had happened. We don’t stay in hotels very often, so when we do, we like to spend a little more in order to get a really good room and on this occasion we didn’t receive that.

Breakfast was really good - excellent choice and well cooked and presented. Staff were extremely helpful, carrying luggage, giving information and offering help. The car park is joined on to the property and there is an entrance door into the Hotel and this floor is also served by a lift.

It was a shame that the restaurant was closed the night we were there - unfortunately they had no bookings. The rooms, whilst adequate and comfortable, were a little old fashioned.

Very convenient location for the congress theatre across the road. Lovely room with good facilities, comfy bed with a good en-suite bathroom. Lift to rooms. Room was warm as was the hotel. Good evening/breakfast menu reasonably priced, good portion size. Friendly helpful staff.

A couple of food choices on evening menu changed but menu given wasn’t updated. Only told when we happened to chose one ie Sea bass for salmon.

Everything!! Couldn`t fault it. They even have an excellent Roland baby grand electric piano which they allowed me to play (I am a pro musician so can play to a very high standard). The guests enjoyed my playing and the staff. This was a very special Golden wedding anniversary stay and I was exceptionally pleased with my choice of Hotel as there are numerous hotels to choose from in Eastbourne, and this one was even better than the famous 5 star one which is nearby. Owner and manager very accommodating. Place full of character.

No complaints whatsoever.
