tiny bed parking was difficult so we found parking a 10 min walk away

All facilities were very good. Food was excellent and the dining environment very elegant and relaxing. Service was exceptional on the first evening but a little less so the second but improved once we got attention to our waiting to be served. Breakfast offered huge and delicious choice. A perfect start to the day.

Parking was good with the concierge finding very convenient space for us as we arrived. Checking in at reception was rather impersonal and mechanical. Concierge service was very helpful. We had asked to be notified when our room was ready but nobody called and it was clear when I asked for the key that it must have been ready for a while. We had thought that booking the suite option might have prioritised room readiness. The room was very comfortable but had nowhere near enough electrical sockets for charging phones and other items and the only two were in very difficult places to reach. The shower being over the bath was not mentioned when we booked and made it very difficult for one of us with less agility to get in and out.

I stayed on Monday for work and came back Friday with my husband. Bringing him was a bit last minute but the hotel accommodated this without any issue. The food was fantastic and the room was lovely. Concierge were helpful as always the receptionist on checkout was lovely. The hotel has a traditional feel and is welcoming.

The receptionist on check in was surly which is such a shame as ALL of the other staff are outstanding. Housekeeping woke my husband twice despite us booking a later check out time. The waitress got our breakfast order wrong but it was rectified and the waiter forgot to get the sauces after asking if we wanted any! (Minor issues and I will still go back because my stay earlier in the week was 10/10!)

Staff were quite wonderful; nothing was too much trouble, everyone greeted you so politely and everything was explained very well. I am gluten and lactose intolerant but was able to order oat milk, GF sausages, toast and even croissants. Staff were very attentive. The indoor and outdoor pool were lovely. The hotel is beautiful with the most wonderful interior and sweeping corridors and grand staircases and decor. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were amazing! The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The fan was greatly appreciated as it was a hot weekend.

Room could have been a little larger. The taps in the bathroom dripped. Some areas were a little 'tired' but I would expect this in such a huge, historic hotel.

Lounge etc were lovely for us to relax in, We were there for the rest and change of scenery as my husband is very ill with cancer, and we had just had to cancel a 4 week holiday in Malta. The lounge staff were really wonderful, attentative and caring.

Attitude of restaurant not at all pleasant, all because we just wanted a bowl of soup and roll, not a full blown dinner. I had explained the circumstances with my husbands illness, but the manager was not the slightest bothered, and was very offhand with reluctantly agreeing that we could go in just for soup, As the restaurant only had 3 tables occupied I would have thought he would have been most obliging. It did make us both quite upset.

The room was of a very good size as was the bathroom which was equipped with both a bath and a shower. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space for clothes etc. There were quite few very comfortable and spacious lounges to relax in with very attentive staff to cater to your needs. Breakfast was good with a variety of items to choose from both hot and cold. There were other facilities to enjoy such as the Spa with swimming pool and gym and games room with two snooker tables in. The hotel is also in a very convenient position for the town and seafront.

It would have been nice to have had a mini fridge in the bedroom.

Lunch took 45 mins to arrive, there was no bread roll served, the food was not particularly hot nor were the plates No wine was offered and we had to ask for it In some areas, the decoration was a little tired and many areas were very dusty The sauna in the health centre had been removed since my last visit The kitchen closed at 2130 hrs for bar snacks which was too early for my guests I was not aware of whether there was room service as the information sheet was not available in my room

Nice big light room. V good breakfast. V nice staff. Warm outdoor pool.

Drinks too expensive. No hand grips in the bath, which is v important given the demographic of the guests. The pool area is v depressing. What it needs is repaving with light cream non slip stone and large terracotta flower pots. This would give a sense of being on the French or Italian rivieras. At the same time, to further enhance the Med feeling, replace the dark recliners n chairs with white furnishings n colourful upholstery. Although this might be initially expensive, I think it would pay for itself in the long run by increased bookings.

The majority of staff provided excellent customer service. Special shout out to Cole in the lobby who was so friendly and helpful with our bags and providing information. The ambience and setting of the hotel is exquisite. Feels very special. Breakfast was delicious. Pool and changing facilities good. Room size for a standard was massive with a section at the entrance for wardrobes and changing. Plenty of space and furniture / storage. Love the nesprosso machine. Would love to stay again

For us, the bed, pillows and mattress were way too soft. We're used to firm. But I appreciate others may find soft comfortable.

The hotel was an amazing place to be in. It had a luxurious feel about it with plush carpets, historic pictures and staff to welcome you and make you feel special. The waiting staff also made you feel welcoming and food was delicious. It was a bonus to be able to park the car at the front of the hotel and just walk across the road to the beach and sea.

We could not find out what was on. We are not familiar with the QR code way. Someone told us there was dancing one day but we had no information about it. Another time there was Jazz on the Terrace but it was too late for us to book it. We like the old fashioned information book to look at. We may have missed other events.
