Good price overall for a hotel room in a great location in San Sebastian. Staff/owner was kind and friendly. The room had a direct view over a plaza and the cathedral. The check-in time is earlier than most other places in Spain. They allowed me to keep my luggage on site after check-out until I had to go to the airport. Room was clean overall. I did not meet any other guests while there.

The place feels a little like a mix of a hotel and airbnb, which means there isn't someone at the front desk 24/7 (though they do provide you with daytime and nightime contact numbers for emergencies). It doesn't have the cohabitation and space sharing vibe of a hostel either. The same key opened both the main door and my room door. The starewell up to the hostel was very dark at night with a sensor light that didn't work very well; this made it hard to unlock the door and made me a little uncomfortable as a solo female traveller. The website had mentioned luggage storage, which they did do for me upon request, but my luggage was basically just placed in the main lobby where anyone could have grabbed and left with it. USB and more electrical sockets near the bed would have been useful.

The location is great along the side of a beautiful church, five minutes walk from the train station, and with tons of bars, restaurants, and shops nearby. The room was very clean with basic ammenities like a kettle, fridge, hair dryer, and TV. We just needed a simple place to stay before starting the Camino del Norte and this place was perfect. But, like others have said, the best was interacting with the owner. He was so funny and direct with all of the information that we needed. He made our day!

Location was great, near the bus/train station, plenty of bars and cafes nearby. Very friendly and helpful welcome. The room was clean and well equipped, there was a good shower and a small fridge and kettle. Bed (mattress) was comfortable.

We had a room facing the main street which was quite noisy. Although there was double glazing, even with the window closed the room was quite noisy from early morning. Pay extra for a cathedral view room if you want quiet. Pillows were not very comfortable.

Having visited in October, we couldn't wait to get back to Pensión San Ignacio and another great stay in San Sebastián. It is in an excellent location by the Cathedral and in walking distance of La Concha, great shops and the old town. We were greeted like old friends once again by the wonderful Javier! We returned to many of the great eateries he had recommended to us in October. Our room was spotless, spacious and had a beautiful view of the cathedral. We are already planning our next visit and will stay in San Ignacio again for sure.

Couldn't fault San Ignacio for its amazing location, spacious and comfortable room and welcoming, friendly and helpful host. It is great value for money in the centre of San Sebastián.

Location was perfect- close to shops, La Concha beach and fabulous bars and restaurants in the old town just a walk away. Javier was the perfect host! We arrived later than expected due to problems with the bus from Biarritz, but were given a warm welcome from Javier who very kindly upgraded us to a lovely room looking out over the Cathedral. He gave us great recommendations on where to eat in the local area. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and nice and quiet in the evening. Guests of the Pensión can have breakfast at a good price in the bar below on the corner- fabulous coffee and fresh pastries. We will certainly return here in the future. ¡Muchísimas gracias Javier, y hasta la próxima vez!

Location; bed was fine, a fan was provided. Love the elevator and ensuite shower/toilet. Kettle and hair dryer was provided, this is NOT always available in other places. The floor to ceiling balcony with view of cathedral.

Nothing, room was as shown, small (but this is common) for hostal. It is not a hotel after all. So met our requirements

I had a great stay at San Ignacio. The location is great: You can reach everything in San Sebastian by foot and it's also close to the bus terminal. The room is nice and the staff is very welcoming! They give good advice for Pinxtos and what to explore in San Sebastian. Value for money is great. I would definitely book again!

Some people are complaining about the street. It's true there is some traffic but it didn't bother me and during night time it's quiet.

The staff were amazing. They told us where to go and eat, what to do and even showed us on the street level. They were very attentive -- there was a small thing to fix on the door which they did very quickly and my son mentioned to housekeeping that he was missing a toy -- she made a note and found it under the bed for him. The place is in a really convenient location for walking around, it is about 10 mins from the beach, there are many grocery stores and restaurants nearby and even a kiosk next door. I liked how our room was one of several on the floor of a building -- ie. you have to get into the building, then floor with main reception before getting into your room. It gave an extra sense of security, especially with travelling as a single mom with a 6-year old in a new place.

Plates and bowls were not available, so eating in the room, especially with kids was not so simple.

The location was fantastic right next to the cathedral. Our host had thought of everything you could need - a coffee machine in reception, a hairdryer and kettle in the room, a comfortable bed. He was also extremely kind and helpful.

The only thing we didn't like is that the room was on the side of the building that was next to the road. Overall, we were extremely happy with San Ignacio Centro and would highly recommend it for a short stay.

I liked that the room was clean. I liked that I had a window to the outside, where plenty of fresh air came in and I could hear some traffic outside. Host was very nice and gave me great information right away. I liked that I had a kettle and a small fridge so I could make coffee , tea, little snacks.

I could have used a table in the room.
