The restaurant could improve. For the city standards the dinner was way below standard. The only menu available was the festival menu. The food had been prepared hours before. Shriveled vegetables lack of flavour.

I liked the location with its closeness to the beach, the port and the Old Town. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bed linen was soft and of high quality The bathroom was spacious, clad in white marble with a modern toilet with an inbuilt remote controlled bidet function and soft night light at the back of it. The wardrobe was spacious and the in-room safe was easy to set up. The hotel’s original historic decor elements were nicely preserved.

My city view room had a desk and a chair positioned at the foot of the bed with only 50 cm of space between them making it a tight squeeze to sit at the table and pass by to reach the balcony window area. The room was overlooking an uninspiring building site. There was no coffee machine, only a kettle, and the tea and coffee sachets supplied were very basic and rationed to two per day. I wasn’t too keen on the scent of the liquid soap supplied in the bathroom so used my own. There were tooth brushes and mini tooth paste sets supplied but no other cosmetic kit i.e. shower cap, make up removing pads or ear bud cleaners.

I made a last-minute decision to visit San Sebastian recently and found this hotel on Booking.com. The off-season rate was very reasonable and the hotel had parking (for a fee, but in older cities where parking can be hard to find, it's worth every penny!). I was instantly enamored of the place--it's lovely inside and out. More important, the staff was amazing. They booked a table for me at a local restaurant that turned out to be divine and were just overall very friendly. I highly suggest paying extra for the sea-view room. Watching the light change on the bay as the sun moved across the sky was wonderful. I slept with the window open one night to hear the waves. Highly recommend this hotel.

I have been a long-time client and have seen changes over the years, mostly good. Of course, the location cannot be beat although it felt on the busy weekend like there was no calm place to sit outside- between the bike path and the promenade, it was like the autoroute!

Our arrival was chaotic, with no help from the solitary bellman with our luggage. When a reservation is made for 8 people it would have been expected to have some service for getting to our rooms. instead, it felt like a check-in for a cheap hotel. The reception staff was not very helpful and shrugged their shoulders when I made a comment.

They did not give us the room with the beds we requested and had paid for! Nor could they move us to another room upon our request! We were given a discount to compensate but money sometimes is NOT what one needs!

The property was well situated in San Sebastian with easy walking distance to many eateries, shops and important architecture. We really enjoyed the staff (but especially the concierge - Izaskun) as they were very helpful with all questions and needs. The food on site was very good though there were many options for food and drink very close by

Although the property inside and out was fabulous, the interior doors of all hotel rooms were massively heavy yet beautiful. And throughout the night and day as well, the doors were slammed causing reverberation in many rooms down the hallways. Not only were many guests oblivious to silently closing the doors, the housekeeping staff was equally negligent in that need as well. It was quite annoying for our week long stay that actually warranted using ear plugs at night to sleep.

I liked everything about the facility. It is perfectly located and with in walking distance to most areas of interest. The being a historic building is quite beautiful architecturally and added a character of uniqueness not often encountered in today’s hotels. The room we has was with a sea view and no one should consider any other it was just outstanding. The room itself was very comfortable and the bathroom and amenities there were unique to say the least. We have been traveling along the Cantabrian and Basque coast ( Spain and France) staying I thus far in 4 hotels. The Hotel Londres y de Inglaterra has been the best among the other very good hotels we have stayed. I emphatically recommend this hotel and San Sebastián is the best.

Everything! This is the most amazing hotel , a stunning grand historic beauty. After 4 days exploring the town , we can assure you that it has the best location in San Sebastion. We had a truly beautiful room with a gorgeous balcony looking out over the most picturesque panorama of the whole beach, the promenade and spectacular landmarks.. This hotel was the highlight of a 3 week trip in Spain. The bar is fabulous with a picture postcard view of the passing parade. The marble bathroom was huge with every amenity.

The food provided by the bar was a bit disappointing.

Amazing location overlooking the beach. Definitely worth paying for the sea view. Very old school European style hotel. Good breakfast choice and pleasant bar area. Huge bed. Staff generally helpful and friendly except rather over-run Maitre'D at breakfast. Very clean.

Bathroom was a little tired with some chipped enamel on bath. Breakfast was very busy - they are renovating the dining room. Drinks and snacks are expensive. Hard to book spa - book ahead of time.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely breakfast with a wide range of choices, anything from tortilla to cake and nice croissants (classic and whole grain) and lots of yummy fruit.

We were there in February and wanted to swim, which we did, but could not access the beach trough the hotel underground facilities as it was "out of swimming season". Instead we had to walk in wet swimming clothes on the pavement and through the main hotel entrance. The sea was anyway gorgeous and worth the effort.
