The location and nearby walks, close proximity of the ferry ports, both Craignure and Fishnish, short walk to the Craignure Inn and cafes near the ferry port, spacious room with a huge bed, included use of the on site swimming pool, ample parking, friendly and helpful staff (some with better local knowledge than others).

The price! For £200 per night WITHOUT breakfast included you'd expect something special. Yes the setting is great and the hotel is spacious, but the rooms themselves, whilst also reasonably spacious, are standard format hotel rooms similar to that you'd find at a Travelodge, no 'wow' factor at all. Decaying window frames with windows that won't stay open doesn't enhance the experience either. Of the 7 places we stayed during our Scottish trip this was by far the most expensive and, while pleasant enough, was nowhere near the best - which it really should have been.

Breakfast was brilliant and the restaurant table staff were great, friendly & helpful Great choice at breakfast time, lovely views and peaceful ambience . No children was a great bonus. We had dinner once in the hotel which was great but some items were missing from the menu.

Unfortunately the shared hottub was out of use for the length of our stay and wasn’t expected to be repaired for the rest of the summer staff told us. We chose this hotel due to facilities including the hottub unfortunately. One of the two foot spas was also not working when we went to use it.

Furnishings and room comfort were great. The internet was immediately available. Daily replenishments of water, pringles and biscuit's, which I've never experienced before, absolutely amazing. The assortment of tea's and coffees were beyond expectations. I tasted my first Rhubarb tea which was gorgeous. Would never have come across this if the hotel hadn't provided this. Daily cleaning service which is normally between 3pm and 5pm. However, the reception advised we could change this to an earlier time if we wanted. Didn't use the swimming pool but this was included in our room rate if we wanted it. Some very reasonable food choices dishes compatible with your run of the mill Pub Food, if that is what you wanted but equally fine dining priced food was available. Would suit different customers purses. Fantastic stay.

The room was not very spacious but we managed. Food was expensive but it also depended on what you chose.

This hotel is something special but it has some key bits missing considering you’re staying in an isolated area. Highly recommend but take note of my criticisms below to make your stay on Mull excellent. The rooms need to be turned over, ours were not. The shower pressure was very poor, thankfully we had a bath but it was disappointing (minor maintenance issue that I’m sure will be resolved). The restaurant food was average at best, I’m not sure how ‘fresh’ the ingredients were for the sauces (were they packets?) the chips were likely frozen ones (or at least not prepared that day before frying) - you have a lot of competition in the area so the entire ensemble of food is important. I appreciate some food is off season, but not all, and I would say a basic requirement of hosting is to steer patrons towards specials or choices that have the freshest ingredients. A couple examples: the ice cream, you have a diary farm near Tobermory that would probably produce ice cream, I would recommend whatever is the freshest ice cream instead of reeling a list of flavours, or the seafood farm that is local, explain what is fresh or has been picked up today, if you’re doing baked Camembert, don’t include average shop bought pitta bread, BAKE YOUR OWN. Sell the freshness, not menu descriptions and saying ‘it is nice’, otherwise, you reduce yourself to being a hotel chain restaurant instead of something with its own identity as being ‘local’ or ‘fresh’, especially considering the prices you charge. It is only 30mins to Tobermory to go eat at wonderful establishments (and some on the way) AND you have a daily ferry to get ingredients from Oban. Using ‘award winning’ butchers is not a good marketing tool when you have to be ‘in it to win it’ with these awards, your chef/catering manager should be sourcing ingredients from local farms/suppliers that are continually reviewed.

After a long day travelling when I first got into my room, it was lovely and toasty and the radio was on, which made the feel of coming into the room very welcoming. The room is very comfortable and spacious the views onto the Sound of Mull is gorgeous, especially in the morning. The staff are just lovely, everyone I met was so kind and considerate. Also, the food in the restaurant is delicious. A shout out to Kim, the massuese at the Driftwood Spa, she is superb, very high quality service. Definitely go and treat yourself at the spa, it is worth it.

Superb lounge area that’s very popular with guests. Great bar food served and the tea tray in our room was very generous and topped up every day! I loved the furnishings both in our room and in public areas. The wood carvings in the lit wooded trail that leads down to the shore was a great surprise. It made for a lovely evening stroll!

We were priced out of eating in the restaurant, thank goodness the bar menu is more reasonably priced! Although, I was restricted to one glass of wine as it cost £14! Living in London I’m used to London prices, but I would never choose to spend £14 on a glass of wine.

It was delightful from start to finish. Josephine checked me in and upgraded me to a suite, which was stunning, a fluffy soft bed, rich linens, a gynormous soaking tub, towel warmer, amazing water view of my Duart Castle, (where I will visit tomorrow), adjacent pool, sauna and steam room, foot bath, tea kettle for my camomile tea, day and night shades, room warmer clothes closet with ironing board and hair blower, Scottish water, caramel treats and pretzels. The most lavish soaps for bubble bath, hair and body. I especially loved the bamboo dental kit. Everything here is made so we'll that after Installation, will last for a very long time. Meaty doors, light switches and a beautiful authentic Scottish rug throughout. The staff was stellar, attentive and definitely accommodating. I cannot site anything that was missing or amiss. I will be returning soon to my ancestral home, with much glee

It is unfortunate, however the Jacuzzi was out of service, but everything else distracted me so, I didn't miss it as much as I thought I would. With all those lovely bath products, I wish I could have taken some home to the US Perhaps I will have some shipped back to me, to help remind me of my amazing journey here I wish I could stay longer. I am certainly going to miss it tremendously!

A luxury option a very short drive (or walkable distance) from the Craignure ferry terminal. Hotel was very well appointed, clean, quiet and comfortable with many welcoming touches and aesthetic yet practical decisions (minimalist shelving and clothing racks near the door). The bed was enormous; my partner and I don't usually share a duvet but this one was massive and we slept well. I especially liked the openable window with a great water view, full-sized teapot (with beautiful tea selection and kettle) and dining options. It was a treat to stay here. Sad not to stay a bit longer to undertake some spa treatments.

Long corridors with lots of stairs and doors made this place a tad difficult accessibility-wise. The shower we had was a shower/bathtub and the bathtub wasn't very wide so it was a bit cramped to wash.

In terms of the location, decor and staff,.we couldn't have asked for more. The hotel staff treated us like family, and were so good with my daughter every day from breakfast to drinks in the evening. The beds were very comfy and clearly resocarted recently. There was a quite large pool, which is a rarity in the Scottish Highlands and islands. Good local whisky selection at the bar and the food was excellent quality, and clearly used locally sourced fresh produce to its best effect. Great location just off the Oban ferry and at the split between the Tobermory and Iona roads.

A few niggles - the family room lost a lot of size with the pullout double bed, when a smaller bunk bed or just a single would have given a lot more room. It also really lacked storage for longer staying guests. The pool was a bit chilly. The bar menu was a bit restrictive in its choices.

Everything! Stunning views, beautiful rooms with such lovely, thoughtful touches and details, local produce such as the wee tea company teabags, snacks, highland water were left everyday in our room and the gorgeous Highland Soap Company Hebridian Seaweed products to use in the shower, felt such a luxurious treat, and made the stay extra special, it was so comfy and cosy, a real sanctuary to come back to after exploring the island. We werent able to use the pool, spa/thermal treatments other than a thermal foot spa each (purely due to exhaustion from ill health) but having the thermal elements available with the deluxe room was a very lovely touch, the foot spa made my day! And the spa staff were friendly and welcoming. All staff were very friendly, polite, knowledgeable and helpful, especially with disability needs and food allergies, but also left us in peace to enjoy our time there, so a very peacful location, with great staff on hand for any needs and wishes.

Miinor things, the food was presented well and tasted really great, but for the price, changes such as a little bigger pot of slaw or salad would be so much more enjoyable and feel better value for money than the tiny thimble style portion. Would be great to have larger slippers for the men and a choice of robe sizes.
