From my arrival to my departure I was met with a wonderful warm welcome from the very professional staff at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel ...thank you for making my Christmas stay so memorable ... Lewis, Juan, David, Gabby, Jhanelle, Malik, Kapil, Crissy, Naadiya, Maks, Hagir, Junmoni, Helene, Paula, Armani and Chris . Take note how well dressed the reception staff are 👍. .

Mr TOM , Nobody on this planet has the right to treat the professional staff at the Mercure with such disrespect as you did in front of guests and staff on Christmas Day morning...I'm sure you wouldn't like others yelling at you as you do ... take note from the professionals.

The location and age of the hotel and surroundings were fantastic. And for it to be so close to the city centre too! We only stayed for 1 night but the staff we encountered were lovely. We enjoyed a king suite which was fantastic and despite the chilly windows in January we were cosy. The radiators kept us warm and the bathroom had good hot water. The bathroom was lovely and the broken basin didn't cause us any bother. I'd love to stay here again for longer next time, and would ask for the same room.

Some minor issues namely a badly cracked basin and windows that were quite breezy. And suprisingly there was no welcome pack of hotel information (telling us about hotel facilities, dining options, local taxis, room service etc) there was no booklet to help us figure out how to operate the nespresso machine or whirlpool bath. So sadly we weren't able to use these. The cooked breakfast was OK, nothing amazing. Bit of a language barrier with some staff but we were fed and full.

The hotel is a great location for exploring Bristol, and the rooms are nicely designed. It offers really good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Daniel who checked us in and out. There were a couple of extra things we needed during our stay and nothing seemed too much trouble, despite the fact the hotel was clearly very busy. We'll definitely be back.

On the day we arrived there was an issue with the heating which wasn't the best start. However, that was quickly sorted out, and the professional way the staff dealt with the issue more than made up for it being a bit chilly when we first got to our room. Everything else was an ideal city-centre hotel experience.

room was great - plenty of room, and peaceful. Quirky use of furniture. it had a fridge, stocked with some bottles of water, abd with space to store your snacks if you need to. wardrobe had towelling robes and slippers. There is also an iron, ironing board, and hair dryer as standard. Bathroom was lush, with a huge walk in shower. The hotel has it's own secure carpark, accessed up a small cobbled street at the side of the hotel. You can book your parking space in advance using 'Your Parking Space'.

only downside was the mattress in my room... it felt really soft, as if it is old and at end of life. Lighting was weird for me personally. six different lights in teh room, each very different, and with their own controls, meaning you have to walk round the room to turn stuff off. even with them all on, there are some gloomy corners.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, hotel was very clean and the cleaners were exceptionally polite, free drinks in the room was a nice touch too! Room was a decent size, and was very clean, bathroom very clean too! Close to city centre and great value for money in comparison to other hotels.

The room was VERY dark! For a night this was okay but I think another overhead light or a lighter wall would help as it was very difficult to do makeup etc even with the overhead light by the mirror. Also an alarm went off in our room at around 1:30am as we were going to sleep. Very bizarre and frightening at such a random time and with no apparent reason for it?

The room was spacious, larger than we expected, really nicely decorated. The location is great, within walking distance from city centre and attractions.

The reception staff was a bit all over the place. We were told that our payment was made when we checked in, but at check out, actually it wasn't, so we had to go through the same process again when we were in a hurry to get to the train station. The central heating in our room wasn't working, so we had a small electric heater that eventually did the job, but it took ages for the room to warm up.

I spent a night here earlier in the year, after arriving into Bristol on a late flight. I got to the hotel in the early hours of the following morning and was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who, to my great surprise, upgraded me to a premium room - thank you! I was absolutely shattered after spending a number of very full days very much on the go, so the extra goodies (including snacks and drinks) and heightened luxury were both very much appreciated! The hotel is centrally located, which made getting to and from my travel connections straightforward. Highly recommended!

Great location, central to city centre. Room was what I would expect in any average hotel -all the facilities you would expect to find were present, but were basic without any frills. The english breakfast was delicious and well presented and there was plenty of choice.

The room could have done with a few "creature comforts" - a better wardrobe for hanging clothes, rather than a rail, catch up TV would have been great to access, but wasn't available, room lighting was a bit dim for my taste, could do with dimmer switch to give people a choice of brightness.

Brilliant location. Hotel had nice decor and the room was good size and bed comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was nothing special but there was the usual range although how small can you cut up a piece of brie ..it did make me chuckle The car park was £17 but useful.and same or less than other carparks and we were able to leave the car there for 24 hrs

The hotel was so hot and the air con didn't seem to work. I reckon for a 4 star hotel the breakfast would have been better. There was a party below us in the ballroom until 12. Really loud and a bit unfortunate but reception did supply earplugs.

Very well located in the Old Town, close to transport, shopping and for sight seeing. A beautiful, historic part of town. You feel like you have stepped back in time, both where the hotel is located and the hotel itself. I was on the 4th floor with great view of rooftops and historic buildings. The room whilst small, has everything needed for a comfortable stay...loved the quirky "King Kong at Clifton Suspension Bridge"! Fun decor throughout the hotel...not beige place!!! Great selection at breakfast, buffet style. Ate in the bar in the evening, again food was good, friendly service. Board games available in the bar...
