The place has a charm. It's been our second time to stay here on our way back from another vacation. It has an excellent location, just a few hundred meters from Miramare Castle, a private beach is just a few steps away. Even though the hotel needs some refurbishment here and there but because its old charm and mystery, staying here is a true experience. The business is run by a family, very nice people. If you look for a 5 star comfort with 5 star facilities, this hotel should not be your primary choice but if you look for a truly unique experience with a wonderful view and excellent dinner to the sea, then you won't regret to stay here.

The location is fabulous. Older hotel that is truly historic Italy. Views from the rooms are breath taking. Two restaurants by the water. We liked the one not on the corner but next to it. Breakfast was great and the staff was excellent. The bus right out front will take you to Trieste in minutes. The bad reviews you read are people looking for the Hilton. This is not the Hilton it is historic and we loved it. Short walk to the castle other tourist have to book an expensive tour to see.

No elevator if you need one. We did not.

We were told that building is 100 years old and it is full of character and quirky charm. We booked a room with a balcony and sea view which was spectacular. From June to Sept 8 there is a boat that runs from just outside the hotel into Trieste which was 8 euros return. And also near the hotel are two good places to eat. In addition the grounds of the Castle Miramare are lass than a 5 minute walk, free to get in ( pay for entrance to the castle), beautiful and have a cafe. The staff do not speak much English but I had enough Italian to make myself understood and the staff were friendly.

This is a unique hotel with a lot of character, I like this (but others may not). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, even with my limited Italian. Location is fantastic and the rooms are clean and fairly well kept (even if a bit quirky). Breakfast is simple but appreciated.

I could see not having air conditioning might be a detractor during a heat wave / summer. Some small maintenance would have made the room more comfortable (sink faucet was a bit loose, no trash can), but in general, I love staying here.

Location and view were stunning! This hotel is quirky with old Italian charm. Each room has its own character and that’s part of the fun! The hosts are lovely and accommodating with welcoming smiles and willing to please.

Parking in busy times may be a challenge. The rock in the shower taking place of a drain grate was amusing. Need to drive into Trieste for more restaurant choices.

It was a simple little accommodation, but the owner was hospitable and made a nice, positive impression right from the start and the food we ate at the accommodation was very delicious.

I would rather call it a disadvantage, but no one spoke English in the hotel, regardless of that we were able to understand each other.

The Room was very romantic. Real Italian. Full of love but with some rough edges. The staff was super friendly and they went above and beyond to help us. We got some romantic lights for the room and could check out late because of the heavy rain. The village a a real old Italian fishing village with a beautiful castle.

The staff did not speak a lot of English, but wit our hands and feet we managed to communicate. It is a tiny village a bit remote. There are some restaurants but no shops. There are not a lot of public beaches. The maintenance to the room is a bit lacking, but part of the style.

Excellent quite location at sea. Family run hotel. Best for visiting Miramare Castle and Parc. Triest is easy to reach by car or bus. We liked the artistically designed breakfast room/restaurant. The hotel operates a restaurant at evenings. We enjoyed it!

Nothing really to mention.

Nice compact rooms with sea and harbour views. It's close to the beach and Triëst. The hotel is also dog friendly. Overall our experience was great

This hotel is lovely. There is no aircon, TV or minibar, but it's charming. The staff is super lovely, the food is very tasty and the atmosphere of the hotel is lovely. We really loved to stay there.
