I love that I was offered an option to check in online and set up a digital key on my phone to get into the room. If you check in this way it also gives you a chance to view the hotel layout and choose your room, which I thought was pretty cool. I received a text message the morning of check in with a very nice welcome message and they asked if there was anything they could do for me before my arrival. I’ve never had a hotel do that before. I felt valued. The TV screen had a welcome message with my name on it. I thought that was pretty neat too ! They also had two complimentary bottles of water for us. The room was clean and I loved the storage space. They have a wall full of hooks which made it easy to hang up bags. I also appreciate that they don’t use carpets in their room as they can be so unhygienic. Breakfast was included and it was great ! They even had extra toppings for pancakes like caramel and chocolate drizzle and sprinkles. The lobby had an inviting feel to it. Lounge area for guests, foosball tables, and a snack and coffee bar. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

The hotel door kept getting stuck. When I first arrived I was excited to bypass the front desk and go straight to my room but I ended up needing to go to the front desk to ask for help getting into my room because I thought my digital key wasn’t working. Turns out you just have to push the door extra hard to get it open. It was very difficult opening the door from the inside as well. I had to pull with all my might to yank that thing open. Every single time!!! I only stayed one night so it didn’t bother me much, but for a multiple night stay this might really become annoying.

Rooms are comfortable, clean, beds are very good, building is quiet even when quite full, lobby has many spaces to relax or work to serve a variety of needs while feeling intimate at the same time, lastly offering food to buy beyond snacks and soda is always a great thing about Tru hotels

Breakfast has gotten cut back more on options. Tru used to offer individual yogurts now there is only vanilla from a machine which is unappetizing. The pancake machine pancakes have an odd chemical smell and flavor to them. The egg omelette has cheese already inside versus just plain egg offered. The cheese is processed American cheese slices that I have never cared for. To remove the cheese is not an option. Lastly the eggs clearly have a lot of salt added to them because they have a salty flavor straight off the buffet which is not healthy if you want or need to avoid salt.

I was skeptical to believe all the good reviews. I generally stay in 4star or 5star resorts on my own dime, but on a client’s dime I had to be frugal so I took a chance and booked … decision/I was not let down! YOU WILL NOT DO any better at the higher priced Hilton Garden, Marriott Courtyard, or IHG Holiday Inns. This is a great location - easy to walk or drive to nearby food and stores and great access to Highway. Extremely accommodating and friendly staff, clean and safe. Good amenities- nice fitness room, very good free breakfast with hot options, good free Wi-Fi, safe free parking, a decently sized and located pool, pet friendly area. What more can I say!

I love everything about this hotel. Everything was clean. We will definitely stay here again. Overall 10/10 experience.

Everything !!! It was so nice to stay a night here Clean, new, fresh rooms Personalized Welcome sign on tv screen (I havent seen anything like that before) The soccer table was a hit for my 8 year old boy, he enjoyed to play for a bit there Super nice shower We will stay here again for sure

We like everything but if they want to improve something that can be the breakfast (ad some Kind of meat maybe or fruit) And ad a microwave in the rooms but they have one outside the room on the hall and thats ok specially because our room was right next to

The surrounding area was beautiful - quiet and friendly, the hotel looked good, nicely renovated inside and out. The room was regular size (we had the double queen bed) elegantly decorated to Hilton standards, the bathroom was spacious and super clean. The breakfast was nice, the selection was good - my little one had several pancakes from the machine, which she enjoyed observing during the preparation process. We went to the fitness room, it was smaller than expected but good enough for a travel workout.

The only thing we missed from the room was a microwave, but i believe there is one you can use in the lobby (breakfast area), the towels were a bit smaller than usual. The fitness room had missing dumbells from the set, but i found a workaround, it was not a problem.

The breakfast was quite good - and the "wave your hand and make a fresh pancake" thing was like magic!! So cool! The staff is especially friendly, and sweet Mary, the front desk clerk who greeted us upon check-in was a total delight!

I specifically asked for a room with a bathtub, and despite Jamil setting one aside for me, somehow it was sold to another guest before we arrived and there were none available. Mary nearly pulled her hair out (private joke that only Mary will giggle at), trying to find a room with a tub, but alas, there were none. I spoke to Jamil the next day and explained that I requested it because I really need to soak my old, weary bones in some Epsom salts bath when I get back at night because we visit to check on our farm and I'm tired and achy at the end of the day. Next time I will speak withhim directly and he will block it off for me!! Problem solved!! :)

The staff were really nice and made sure everything was okay with our reservation and we were happy throughout our entire stay. The room was really clean and absolutely loved the walk in shower with the glass! I also adored the soap dispensers. Pool area and outside area was really nice. Breakfast was amazing. The area was also very quiet, but was still really close to everything! I will definitely be returning.

The fire pit and pool area bathroom was out of service. Parking was also inconvenient due to construction.

Breakfast is awesome, the best of any hotel. Beautiful, airy, open spaces in hotel lobby area and in the individual hotel rooms. Huge spacious bathrooms, exceptional "handicapable" bars and textured tub floor for folks like me with disabilities. Clean smell and gorgeous floors, no stinking carpets to strain your breathing.

Only one thing, I must mention for improvement: the pillows are a dud. The flattest, no support at all. Haven't slept on pillows like these in years in any hotel. They even appear old and used from a thrift store, truly not up to par with this beautiful hotel chain. Very poor comfort and no support for one's neck. I tried all night, every night, four nights, and I couldn't rest properly because of these flat almost non-existent pillows. I even stacked four plus pillows---didn't help at all. Please replace with new pillows with shape and form for support. This is the only downside at this Tru by Hilton. Thanks for listening.

I was impressed and liked everything about this hotel. Mary at the customer service desk displayed excellent customer service skills, genuinely friendly attitude, she made myself, my spouse and other family members feel very welcomed and comfortable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good and satisfying only thing missing for me was pastries. I would definitely stay again and recommend to Tru Hilton at Mandarin to others as a choice hotel to stay when visiting Jacksonville even to my friends and family that live in Jacksonville.
