I liked how friendly and helpful the staff were. Check in was very easy and simple, and the staff at reception were able to answer local questions easily. When I came back late at night I was greeted by someone who was very welcoming. At breakfast I was served by Balwinder who was lovely and efficient, and clearly enjoys taking care of guests and their needs and wants. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and with the deal I booked felt very good value. The room had recently been renovated and was well appointed and clean.

The hotel is currently being renovated and several areas are still in a state of disrepair - but looking at the results I think it will look very nice when completed. The noise between floors and rooms is quite noticeable, especially first thing in the morning when early risers are getting ready - it isn't a big problem but something to be aware of.

spacious car park which was deserted during our stay (most guests were in a coach party). Very smart looking restaurant. Hotel had a nice feel. Our room & bathroom were a decent size & pleasantly decorated. Comfy bed. Strong water pressure in the bathroom. Easy walking distance into town. Would happily stay again. Very very quiet overnight - no disturbance. Lovely setting.

Shame that the hotel had scaffolding up which spoiled the look of the attractive exterior but did NOT affect our stay. Sunshine was streaming in the bedroom window during the late afternoon & the heating came on (which we did switch off) resulting in uncomfortably hot room overnight. Ground floor room with sash window meant I was reluctant to open it overnight. Dinner menu didn't seem to match the sumptuous look of the restaurant. Eggs were cooked to order at breakfast but delivered whilst we were having cereal - bit of an odd arrangement. No wifi code or fire escape route visible in the bedroom. Service area/kitchen door propped open along hallway - unattractive.

Lovely little hotel that had all the basic facilities that were needed for the night. Great location and helpful staff. They accommodated us very well along with our other family members. Check out time was also reasonable and the lady on reception during check out was lovely.

We had trouble with a broken shower head holder and we were kindly offered a different room but we weren’t fussed enough to move everything. It did get chilly after 12:00pm as it seems like they turn the heating off so getting to bed at this time was quite hard. Other than that the bed was comfortable and the place was clean and tidy.

I had the evening meal and breakfast at the hotel. Both were good. The breakfast was cooked to order instead of just standing on a hot plate which makes a nice change. The evening meal of lamb shank was good as well. The shower was really nice since it was a large stand alone shower and not over a bath tub. Location was really good since I was looking for somewhere just off the M5, so the location was perfect. Parking is excellent since there is an enormous amount of space.

The "boss" had to run both the reception desk and the bar. Not really a problem the night I was there since the bar was quiet, but hopefully she won't have to do that if there is a large number of people in the bar.

We liked the location, the room was a reasonable size. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband is cycling from Landsend to John o groats and we were allowed to put his bike in a little side office overnight which is a great help, otherwise he would have to take the front wheel off to get it in the back of the car.

The only problems we had was that the kettle is very old fashioned and it leaked when pouring, the only other thing was that the cold tap for the sink has hardly any water coming our of it. It is quote pitiful.

Hotel was clean, and the room was cleaned to a high standard. The staff were friendly and helpful especially would like to highlight two staff members: Balwinder and Amman who both were respectful and helpful during morning breakfast time.

No Bottled water in room, had to rely on getting the water from bathroom tap to boil water. Not sure how good the water is to drink even if boiled from that Tap. Some of the buttons on the TV remote was not woeking.

It's a beautiful hotel but even better are the staff there, very accommodating and understanding. A very friendly team who are attentive to you. Clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed! Breakfast and dinner were nice. Surprisingly hot water - so had a decent bath for once at a hotel! No complaints re their facilities or customer service.

Booking.com advertised the bridal suite as available when it wasn't. The hotel staff however did their absolute best to accommodate me into a decent room despite being busy and it wasn't their fault. The refund was given promptly without a fuss. They are working on a resolution for this and explained the issue properly to me. I would advise people to ring the hotel directly to book their room or at least ring straight away and double-check the availability of a room as booking.com can create an issue.

Great price and friendly staff. Breakfast quality was very good. Really happy with the huge bed very comfortable. I was expecting it to be similar, maybe lower in quality in general to a Premier inn but it was actually cleaner and nicer that any I've stayed in.

Not alot of room for breakfast seating. I'd be worried about not getting a table as a family. Some singles had to share with strangers which I wouldn't have liked.

When we first checked in we were allocated a room that was tiny, but, as I was about to complain the receptionist arrived carrying our big suitcase ( No Lifts) as I was about to go back and get the other case, she also had a card for a different room as she realized that the one allocated would be too small. We used the hotel to catch up with a friend who we had not seen for 12 or so years, so we occupied the bar until about 1:00 AM and were very impressed with the service and prices. Thank you to all the excellent staff. But Wait there is more, breakfast was excellent and the Manager made us feel really welcome and was happy to accommodate my variation requests, and then some.

Lack of lifts.
