It have been the place that I've ever stayed in Guatape, and let me tell you that I've stayed in 9 different places over there, but this one exceed my expectation , the cleanliness, the immediate attention for the details , the professional staff , the beautiful spaces and the extreme delicious food. 10 / 10 for everything

Location is amazing. Tranquility, water activities, room service and personell were very good too

The general cleanliness was good but there were many insects, and I am not talking only about mosquitoes, the main door and also the terrace doors do not close well enough to prevent spiders, centipeeds etc to enter the room. Due to the nature of the location, having the rooms in the middle of the trees, flowers, etc.. I would expect the doors to close tight with no gaps not to allow all the insects and other animals to get in There was another issue too, in one day of our stay, we went out and locked everywhere as usual, when we came back we found all doors unlocked... , anyone could enter, apart from clothes etc.. we had money and passport in the room, we were lucky noone entered and stole our things, cleaning personelll should make sure the doors are locked when they finish

La Pausa was sensational. We had a beautiful cabana perched on the side of the hill overlooking the lake. The cabana itself was lovely - really loved the ‘almost outdoor’ shower and the hot tub on the deck. The view was very peaceful - everything was perfect. The food was great - it was terrific to get vegan options as well. The people at La Pausa were excellent. Simon and his team were professional, welcoming and friendly - nothing was ever too much trouble. We couldn’t have had a better experience.

Every part of La Pausa is perfect. The cabanas are private, have a beautiful view and are curated so well. You have everything you need for a luxurious, relaxing stay. We loved not ever needing to leave the cabana thanks to the extremely attentive staff and room service. A little tip if you’re arriving on the bus from Medellin - you can get off the bus in El Penol, which is much closer to the property than Guatape. Don’t bother reading any more reviews, just book it. You won’t regret it. We wish we could have stayed longer :).

What I really liked about this Glamping Hotel was how friendly everyone was. As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed and got offered drinks. We were also greeted by 2 super friendly Frenchies named Oliva and Faustina. Later during the night when we requested room service we got to meet Milo who is adorable and visited us the next morning too. The cabins are placed a bit further from each other for privacy. Everything was clean in our cabin. The cabins are super cozy and they even offer body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. You also have a kitchenette, a fan, and get robes which are perfect for when you soak in the Jacuzzi outside. If you need anything you can always contact the staff via WhatsApp. When they pass by the call out first to ask for permission to enter the outside of the cabin so you’re not caught off guard and they respect your privacy.

We went in late August and had a run in with a lot of bugs because it is the season for them so if you don’t like bug maybe check when the bugs aren’t as active. The main road to isn’t paved so that can be a bit challenging for the uber/taxi driver. Lastly, there was a thunderstorm during our stay so it was pretty scary because you can feel the ripple of the thunder strike. During our stay they electricity went out at 12am and came back partly the next day past 10am so we had no connection and the room got pretty warm since we had to close the doors due to rain.

The views were STUNNING, the service was top notch — it was a bit remote and one night we didn’t order dinner and they texted us and asked if we wanted food before they shut down the kitchen, breakfast was included — get ready for the most delicious waffles and cappuccinos (includes room service as well), they text to ask what time you want them to clean the room, and offer all of the activities you could imagine. RUN DONT WALK TO STAY HERE!! 10/10

The road to approach the property is unpaved and a bit bumpy, and it’s a bit remote (about 25 mins from Guatape). The hotel will help you get a taxi to Guatape but it’s a bit difficult to find a taxi to get back from Guatape

The grounds were gorgeous! The views, unbeatable. I thought the food was great- hubby got sick after the first dinner but then seemed fine so not sure what it was. Private cabin life is serene. Staff were friendly and helpful- not bilingual just fyi. Be warned you’re near a popular tourist spot across the water which brings boats through all day, some have loud music. Roofs are metal so you do hear leaves dropping and rain at night so light sleepers should bring ear plugs

Good and safe location , friendly owner and hepful staff. Rooms are very clean and whole hotel is nicely decorated. Nice garden, plants and flowers everywhere. Comfortable beds and very good breakfast. Breakfast and dinner here was the best during our whole trip in Colombia . The hotel has two restaurants and the food in both of them is very delicous and waiters make your stay even better . Very nice view. It is possible to make gas fire in the private terraza . We would like to stay here again during our next visit.

Swimming in the lakes around is possible only with life jackets.. Water surface was very low when we were there. I did not like that the receptionist did not want to let me pay our bill until somebody will check the cabaňa and minibar. They have probably bad experience with some previous guests...

The location is absolutely stunning. The cabins have privacy and unreal views. The food was surprisingly good. Lots of options. I loved having a private dock on site. We used this to get picked up right on the water for our water activities Service was also excellent. The staff was very attentive. All we had to do was message them on WhatsApp and they would cater to our every need. I loved having dinner in our cabin. They would simply deliver the food.

Because you are immersed in nature next to this lake, there will be bugs. Sometimes some of these got inside our cabin. Nothing major like mosquitos.

Everyone was very kind and helpful. Great food, we had breakfast and sandwiches for lunch, everything was delicious. You can have it delivered to your cabin if you choose so. A perfect place to hunker down and spend a day with a book.

They offer water vehicles rentals. I am not sure who should be responsible for it but the “speed boat” rental was the most disappointing experience. They don’t disclose that you don’t get to drive a boat, instead you are being driven around(not speedy either). Very overpriced boat ride experience, absolutely not worth it. You can hop onto any group boat ride and receive the same amount of thrill
