The room was clean, compact but had everything we needed, there were miniature soaps and shampoo which were replenished, also biscuits to go with the tea and coffee which was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable so we had a good night's sleep. We enjoyed a couple of drinks in the bar whilst watching the darts on sky TV.. Plenty of parking available in the carpark.

The bathroom needs a little TLC mainly the ceiling with just a lick of paint. Would have had a higher rating if breakfast was provided, we went to Weather spoons and had a cheap and cheerful breakfast.

The staff here were excellent, always on hand, really down to earth and friendly. The food was incredible value for money and even the drinks were a great price! Great atmosphere and we really enjoyed our 11th wedding anniversary, would definitely recommend.

On arrival the noise from the bar was deafening even in our room. There was a wedding going on and lots of people drinking at the bar. However when we asked to move rooms, the staff were so accompanying and understanding and we were moved straight away to the back, which was much quieter. The following Sunday was much more quieter and relaxed, with a great atmosphere all day. One downside is that there is no breakfast served which was disappointing.

It wasn’t far from the town and was very easy to get a taxi. The room was absolutely amazing and clean. Could not fault it !

There is nothing I didn’t like about the property. However for others staying for whatever purpose, having the pub downstairs may be a problem as you could hear everything. Such as people talking and laughing to the music playing. So if you want an early night on a weekend then chances are you won’t get it 🤣 however for us we didn’t care and loved the fact we was in our room and could hear the music so we didn’t have to go downstairs !

Very clean and modern room, the place looked well maintained an exceeded our expectations! It's also very accessible being close to town, but at the end of a dead end street so fairly quiet for the location.

The bar was very loud at night, the room being right above the bar meant there was no chance to sleep until everyone was gone. That's to be expected in a place like this though so I can't hold it against them, and they did start to shut things down after 11 for the purpose of the hotel.

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is right above the pub but noise is limited and was very peaceful from around 9pm. The pub serves a great selection of food and drink. Plenty of parking available. Very good experience, thanks.

Only a minor issue but the smoking area is right below the room I was staying in. Wasn't a big issue for me as the pub was fairly quiet this evening. Could be an issue for others though.

The room was tidy and clean. The room had obviously been recently decorated and was very smart

The bar / restaurant was very full of young drinkers and i didnt see anyone actually eating a meal I would have felt uncomfortable and/or conspicuous if I went in to eat. I just got a drink and returned to.my room. Additionally , there were bar customers hanging about outside after closing hours, chatting loudly until about 24:30.

There is plenty of free parking and the location was perfect, away from the busy centre of town, but all the local facilities within easy walking distance. Great value, and I was expecting a single bed, but was allocated a room with a double bed. It looks like the corridors to the rooms were recently decorated in a fresh modern way. The room could do with a little freshening up, but it was clean and comfortable. I was worried about the noise from the pub disturbing me in my room, especially as I stayed on a Friday and Saturday nights, but it wasn't an issue. The higher numbered rooms seem to be the quieter ones. There was a bit of noise from the beer garden as I had my windows open, but it did not disturb me. There is no breakfast on offer, but there are plenty of places in town. For dinner I would recommend Amici Italian Restaurant, and for breakfast I would recommend Woodies, both in the centre of Blackwood. I would not hesitate to return if I am in the area again.

Lovely nuanced contemporary room in a nice area. Plenty of parking. Great value for money as a base for visiting the area.

Accepting it’s a pub, my room was quiet noisy, above the bar,.until last orders. After that it was fine so might not suite someone who goes to bed early who doesn’t go to the bar. Didn’t bother me too much.

The room itself was modern and cleanly presented. The rest of the facilities were wonderful, with the cosy bar area and absolutely amazing outside beer garden area. Really pleasant place to sit and have dinner in the sun. I travel regularly to that area of Wales and this was the first time staying at the Brewers Lodge. I will certainly be booking again.

To be honest everything was fine and I can't think of anything negative no matter how small to point out.

Check in was easy. Room was nice and clean and fresh. Bed comfortable. Shower a bit on the small side, but adequate.Good seating outside. The hotel is located at the very top of a long, steep hill. When approaching it through a very built up residential area, it does not look like there would be a hotel there, but just keep going up the hill and the area opens up. We walked down the steep hill to the shops on the high street. It's quite a hike back up the hill, but good excersise! It was a week-end, but there may be a bus to take you up the hill. Enquire at the pub..This hotel was excellent value for money. It's a pity that the bar/restaurant is not open in the morning for breakfast. Suggest taking a small box of cereal and some milk for the morning.

Staff are a little indifferent and kept changing. But they always answered questions. Some smiles would be nice.
