We were there for Bruce Springsteen concert in Cadiff, it was very quiet considering it's near the motorway. Could have done with the door to the street being able to use entering the building as we had to go round to the carpark to get in, but could get out through that door. There is a nice bar about3 mins walk away the tavern really nice lot of customers and entertainment of some sort every night. Newport town centre is only 30min walk. Staff very helpfull and plenty of tea milk and coffee in rooms only had to ask.if you want more. All I can say is we never had anything to complain about that goes to all the train staff as well as they were so helpfull. Really nice people are the Welsh.

We always stop here on the way to or from Llanelli to see our daughter as we live in Dartmouth Devon. It gives us a break and chance to see our 98 year old Auntie who lives in Newport. Staff always helpful and friendly and rooms clean what more could you ask for. First time we've had breakfast and that was pretty good also. A huge thanks to Helen who looked after us. .

No hand towel and only 2 pillows however I am sure these would gave been provided if we had asked. A big problem with some hotels is - no sockets near the bed head. You need to think of those who use CPAT machines or other aids to assist breathing overnight. Whilst I do carry around an extension lead with me this then leads to potential trip hazards in the night when half asleep and visiting the bathroom.

The beds were incredibly comfortable and it was exceptionally clean. The staff were so friendly from the minute we walked in the door and that goes for everyone we encountered. They were helpful and informative. The use of space was phenomenal, and value for money exceptional. The cleanliness is the highest point for me, not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere including the floor!

The corridor was dated and had a musty odour which lets the cleanliness of the rest of the place down. Outside, the building looks dirty could do with a power wash. Nothing in walking distance. Website description was a little vague as there isn’t much privacy between two people in the room as there is no bathroom as such, the toilet is low and basically in a cupboard and the shower just opened into the room so if you do not know the person well you’re staying with there isn’t much privacy.

Nice large disabled access room on ground floor near reception. Key card to open security door to corridor and room. En-suite with large bathroom, walk-in shower, low level sink, toilet with toilet paper. Free good speed WiFi. Free tea/coffee in room, plus kettle. Paid snacks available from reception. Good breakfast with ham-cheese, sereal, small cake, orange juice, etc. Break £8.50 per person. Very friendly, helpful staff. Located close to the main high street and Newport train station. Pizza available to buy from reception. Would stay again.

Not able to get shower to wwaork, but could have asked staff. Too many doors to open by plastic keycard.

We were going to Bristol the next day, so it was a very convenient stop on the way through. There's a pub only 2 minutes away on foot that does very good pub grub at a good price (the Lyceum) and is like stepping back in time when pubs looked like pubs, not wine bars! Staff were really friendly (over and above), and the place was spotless. There is a dual carriageway overpass right next to it, but the double glazing blots the sound really well (my husband can be picky over noise), and though it was a hot day and night, the room has air conditioning, so nice and cool. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was good (no leaks either). In the morning the breakfast smelled really good, so we decided we would stay for that next time. Garage was a short distance away for our tyre change in the morning, so altogether, a great stay!

The room was well laid out and it was nice to have tea and coffee amenities. The beds were very comfortable and bedding and towels were clean. The breakfast had a lovely selection and was tasty in a nice clean dining area. The free parking was an extra plus. The staff member: young lady with long dark hair was so friendly and helpful.

The front of the bunk bed had an oily smear across the front of it. There was a tube of salon found under the stool in the room so it obviously wasn't moved to clean from the precious occupants.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room and hotel was clean and well presented. The buffet breakfast, although only continental, had a great choice of items and you could eat as much as you liked. Although the hotel was full when I stayed, I didn't hear any noise from the other guests. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

I would have quite liked a proper chair in my room to sit on, rather than the hard plastic stall, which became uncomfortable after a while; however, this is quite a minor point.

The toilet smelt of bad drains the whole time. It was impossible to open the window because of the constant noise (and pollution?) from the adjacent road. The staircase needed some attention, its floor covering was wearing in places. I don’t use lifts.

Staff are super friendly, especially Brian, but all very lovely. There's not a surly one among them. The hotel is a budget, but it is spotlessly clean. The shower worked brilliantly, and the bed was comfortable. There's a pub with good food at easy walking distance. Breakfast is continental with yoghurts, cheeses and cold meat, bread (toasters) pastries, cereals, and fruit. All very plentiful. What more could you ask? Great place to stay, and we would go back there like a shot!

We booked three rooms; one accessible one and two standard rooms as my husband was attending a graduation ceremony in the ICC just down the road. There was adequate parking for both us and our family. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Lovely choice of continental breakfast, including juices, coffee, loose leaf tea (although there were only two strainers). Choice of cereals, including plant-based milks. Selection of pastries, yoghurts, fruit, etc. As you would expect from an Ibis Budget, it does what it says on the tin - but would definitely stay again, as such lovely service from the staff.

Only downside was the two rooms my daughter and stepdaughter and her parter had were extrememly hot; the thermostat was not working. However, when I asked them both had they asked at the desk for help - they had not... so could just be what was needed was some assistance from housekeeping. Other than that all good.
