The hotel is very clean. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The location can be easily accessed. The Wi-Fi works great and fast. The place is accessible from the nearby metro station although you might have to deal with the sloping roads typical of Porto in going to the hotel.

The property does not have a lift so you will need to prepare to carry your bag if you are assigned to a room upstairs or downstairs. Apart from this, I think the hotel is generally as advertised.

This was a pleasant surprise! It may not have been real close to the center, but it's an easy walk (~15 minutes) to all the attractions! Excellent hot shower! Comfy bed! Great WiFi! Friendly personnels! Quiet neighborhood! Close to metro/bus stations! Good AC & heat (needed them both, lol)! The outside of the hotel didn't look great, but the inside was bright and clean! Very reasonably priced! Many restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as a self-serve laundromat! I definitely recommend the hotel and would stay here again when I'm back in pretty Porto!

When I arrived to hotel very nice elderly elegant gentleman after service gave me Porto streets map and explained to me where to go and how ( busses, metro, shops , etc. ) . The all staff is very friendly , especially Leandro Jesus making a top service ! The hotel is like new ( furniture , doors , floor , walls , windows ) . Room was very clean ( service every day ) , fresh , everything worked as should. Clean bathroom with a hot water, plenty of toilet paper , shower gel, hairdryer . Hotel is very close to small shop on the corner ( opposite ), nice local pub ( 2 mins walk ) , metro station ( 3 mins ) , pizza ( 2 mins ) supermarket and bus 203 to the beach ( 5 mins ) or 20 mins walk to town centre . Very nice hotel , everything new and fresh . After my experience with a few hotels in Dubai Marina I can compare and I highly recommending this one in Porto.

No towel rack in the bathroom.

Short walk from Metro station. Rooms are comfortable. Staff are available to speak during business hours and are very helpful.

The neighborhood is mix of residential and commercial, so not 100% quiet. There are partygoers going home at night making noises on the street. Bathrooms are small and retrofitted; there are no hooks and little counter space to put your things but you can store them in the cabinet under the sink. Seems that the bedroom floor is not vacuumed. Depending on who's staying next door to you, you can hear them talk but muffled.

easy to come to city center, quiet area, the man from reception was helpful he gave me information about the town and whats importaant to visit , also when I requested he gave me a glass to have in the room, internet was ok

No glass in the room, no fridge, the door to the bathroom had no handle, no breakfast in the hotel but you find some places in the neigborhood where you can eat

The reception was excellent, the gentleman was very welcoming and gave us very good advice of places to visit. The hotel is quite basic and 1.3 miles from the old town downhill. But there is the excellent and cheap Metro service two stations being with in a few minutes walk. There are nearby cafes and bar nearby which are frequented by locals and friendly. The main town does not take long to get to by Metro and there is a good service out to the airport for a few euros.

Hotel Grande Rio stands out within the moderate budget hotels. It’s really clean, and all amenities are up to standard. Reception staff was always nice and helpful. The room was pretty small but not claustrophobic. Distance to the historical center of Proto is possible for walk - about 20-30 min.(although you can use nearby Metro if you wish to get there faster) It is a bit outside of the loud and busy streets, which makes it a quite and calm place. There are some cafes/bakeries offering breakfasts just a couples minutes of walk away. The value for money is really good I would choose this hotel again for my next visit in Porto.

The only thing I was missing was a small kettle in the room/floor to make myself a tea – but it’s because of my habit of frequent tea drinking.

Staff friendly and helpful gave tourist map and explained sights and how to get about. Room clean, comfortable walk in shower my brother mobility issues was perfect. Location short walk to tube station just 3 stops to center. Nice to be just outside main tourist area like atmosphere in bars and restaurants frequented by locals, but easy to get to tourist sights so best of both worlds.

With this hotel you get what you pay for its a one star hotel so don't expect many facilities they don't have a lift so it's not suitable for people who find stairs difficult But for its price its amazing you get a comfy double bed loads of wardrobe space a walk in shower toilet and sink the room is small but it's not outdated which I loved! It's just 20 minute walk up the road from town centre and very well connected to public transport And the staff were so lovely and helpful 😊 they give you towels and small shampoo and conditioner and you can buy water bottles and snacks from downstairs The hotel has no restaurant or bar but does have a terrace part to relax on.

Great little place, very clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and helpful, even brought us a kettle after we requested. Location is out of the way - we don't mind as we like walking but it's very hilly. There is a metro station 5 mins away and it's just 1 stop to main station to catch airport metro, or 4 stops to be right in the historic centre. Its great value for money if you don't mind being 'out of it'.

Location was only downside but we were aware of this and went for value for money instead, and this certainly was.
