Really nice place, with amazing staff. 10/10 clean. Great coffee in the room, water was a nice touch. Shampoo smelled amazing.

The breakfast sadly was... not to my usual hotel standard. Especially for this price. Not enough options, and if you're vegan - there is almost nothing to eat. We've chosen this hotel for their spa facilities- and as much as we loved the pool and saunas - their jacuzzi didn't work (water was literally dangerously hot - to the point that if you go inside it will burn your skin) so the jacuzzi was out of order for the time of our stay and that really ruined our stay, as it was the most important thing for us. (We were there to relax!)

We had a lovely time staying at the lodge. It's very close to the centre. Staff was extremely helpful and the food delicious. Rooms comfortable and clean. Highly recommended.

The staff were lovely. The breakfast was good quality items. My daughter and I need Gluten Free and they cooked sausages just for us. Beds are very comfy, rooms are clean. Some of the paintwork in the bathroom needs redoing and was flaking in room 45. Overall a great place to stay. The swimming pool was great and again, staff were very friendly. One edge of the pool needed repair but still had a lovely swim. There is an outdoor space to eat breakfast when the weather is hot. Great location, about 10 mins walk to the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was good. Nothing we didn't like

Breakfast: location is in the Hotel, you just have to walk through the courtyard/ garden, direct into breakfast room. Breakfast was superb and staff good at serving and removing plates. It's mostly self-service, including the toast machine, with freshly ground coffee. There was lots of fruit, dried fruit and seeds, as well as cereals. The small danish pastries were fresh and yummy. Room: plenty of space and had a really large bed too, bigger than a kingsize. Very comfortable, There was plenty of clothes storage. The curtains were good at keeping the light out. The windows can be opened. There is an air conditioning unit provided. Our room had a bath with shower overhead. Lots of lovely toiletries provided, and not in tiny bottles. Location: easy to get to the beach, via a path then the zig zag path down the cliff. Or walk to the town itself. Facilities: the pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi, and the gym. Wow wow wow! All these are available for customers of the Connaught Lodge. Go through the hotel reception and there's a lift or a spiral staircase down to the changing rooms. Didn't need the safe in the wardrobe but would have liked a small fridge there instead. My husband needed his medication kept cool (we used the wash basin filled with cold water)

Breakfast choices and food quality excellent. Good value. Dinner food quality excellent

Waiting one hour from sitting until food delivered at dinner and the restaurant was only 40% full. The two waiters/ bar staff (as well!) were run off their feet trying to cover bar and restaurant service and deserve more help. I presume the problem lies in the kitchen possibly understaffed? A little thing - I’d have used a shower cap if there’d been one, and my elderly mother needed a non slip mat in bath to have a shower so we had to use a towel in the bath as a mat. Bedroom was rather gloomy as it was quite narrow with grey walls and dark old furnishings

There was a good selection at breakfast however my daughter is dairy free. It did say on the bottom of the menu to ask for dairy free items but we didn’t see this until the end of our breakfast. We did mention to the front desk about dairy free items. The next day we had a lovely selection of products that were suitable for her. The staff were so lovely and thoughtful. It made a huge difference to our stay.

The room was a little tired but perfectly comfortable. Room was well laid out. Plastic bags for a wet swimming costume would be a help from the changing rooms.

Bed a bit hard and pillows not great Suite not a suite just an extra room with bed settee. No coffee pods and gown despite advertised - could have asked but not really needed just should be there for future guests

Very happy with our stay at the Connaught Lodge. It's in a separate building to the main hotel and seems to be originally designed for business travelers but able to use the facilities in the main hotel which is great. The two buildings are connected by a small garden which is a nice space to relax. The room had aircon which was a blessing with the hot weather. Not the largest room but had everything required.

Minor gripe - could have been more generous with the tea and coffee provided in the room. Only enough for 1 per person.

Very easy to find this accommodation. Room was booked in the lodge, checked in at the main reception in the Best Western Connaught Hotel literally next door. Paid the £8 charge to park and was given a slip to put on dash. Very polite, friendly receptionist. Went to our room. 1st floor, one flight of stairs or lift available. Totally adequate for our stay, very clean, large tv, tea/coffee making facilities, great shower. Bed was really comfy and we both slept very well. Walked across the little courtyard to the restaurant in the morning for breakfast. What a choice!! Cereals, continental, full english!! We both went for the full english, which was a buffet style, but the waitress served what you wanted onto your plate. Tea or coffee brought to your table. Breakfast was exceptional, the sausages were amazing. All staff were courteous and friendly. Checked out with ease. Would have loved to stay an extra night! Will definately be returning! 8 minute walk to BIC which is where we went for the evening.
