The location was good and the breakfast was excellent. The room was large with a nice bathroom. I had one issue with the room, when mentioned it was dealt with professionally and the issue resolved proactively. The staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. I was very impressed with them. It was very welcoming and obviously a very popular pub which seemed to have a great atmosphere. I would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

There is nothing not to like.

Lovely big well equipped comfortable room. Lovely touches with some complementary drinks and milk in fridge. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely and quiet. Plenty of parking. Would return.

Carpet was a bit stained in places. Cups too small for a decent cup of tea.

An absolutely stunning property in a lovely location, very friendly accommodating staff where nothing was too much trouble. After checking out we went back for Sunday lunch which was delicious 😋

We were a family of 4, my husband, myself and my in-laws. The rooms are very beautiful, clean and have a unique character. The restaurant and bar are truly beautiful and convenient. Staff is exceptional and very helpful. We asked the owner if we could have breakfast at 8am instead of 9am, she immidiatley accepted and served us home-made breakfast on saturday and sunday. The food both breakfast and dinner were satisfying and good portions. I would recommend this inn because it feels like home.

Quirky ! Great detail in this 400 year old property. Staff were excellent , attentive and welcoming. Great menu also. A real gem !

The inn was absolutely beautiful and our room was huge with a very comfy bed. Complimentary drinks in the mini fridge and a bottle of milk for coffee instead of those horrible packets you usually get. Plenty of parking, good location for our needs (a wedding nearby) and the staff were so lovely. Breakfast the next day was delicious and plenty of choice

There were a few tiny inconveniences like the TV kept losing signal and there was a small leak in the bathroom. But otherwise we couldn't have been happier with our stay

This is a cozy spot, with a beatifully decorated restaurant and stylish rooms. Very comfy beds, decent menu and good service.

There is absolutely no privacy in the rooms. You could hear the neighboring guests talk even at a normal conversational tone, not loud, when they walked around the room, doors slamming all night etc. I understand this is an old building, 400 years old, but if you want a minimum level of privacy, this is not the place for you. Also I wasn't too impressed with the cleanliness level, some stains on the carpet and walls, dust on nightstand and funny smell coming from bathroom. Our room was on the 1st floor, looking over the front yard.

A pleasant and relaxing period pub and hotel in the southern end of the Cotswolds. Very good dinner and breakfast menu. Bar is frequented by the local farming community which adds to the rustic and cosy asmosphere. Staff are helpful. Plentiful parking.

Being a very old property (dating from the 16th century) there are understandably some accessibility problems (e.g steep staircase and narrow corridors), the rooms are variable in size and have differing facilities. Not a problem for most guests, but if in doubt it is worth checking with staff before booking. Very few facilities in the village but a nice church. Nearest shops are in Malmesbury.

Everything! The room was so cosy and comfortable and well equipped, the pub had a lovely atmosphere and great food and the staff were wonderful. We had a wonderful stay at the Horse and Groom Inn, definitely a highlight of our trip. The room was so lovely and we were happy to have a lazy afternoon just chilling in our room. The pub itself had a great country pub vibe and the food was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for Kez and her staff who were all so welcoming and helpful and they are to be congratulated for creating this beautiful country gem - it felt like we were staying with friends rather than a hotel.
