We used to visit Paternoster and stay in the Hotel in the 80's/90's before moving to Pretoria. This visit was a nostalgic one. My stay now was like coming home. Little has changed and everything looked familiar. My room and specially the mattress was soooo comfy. The front desk and entrance hall needs a 'little' facelift. Overall the homely atmosphere, friendly staff, breakfasf and cleanliness made my stay worthwhile (taking into consideration the gastly loadshedding which the establishment managed very well). If you ever have to remodel, please leave the Hotel's outside and stoep the same !!! Your rates are also perfect for a pensioner. Thanks everyone at Paternoster Hotel !!!

We enjoyed the hotel and the very friendly staff, the attention to small details were appreciated and the staff represented the hotel exceptionally well. The staff especially Rosia and
The hotel is somewhat dated and although the room areas are revamped of the hotel, the general entrance and parking area had bins were in front of the rooms which were a bit of an eyesore and the braai area could be less open to the road. Although unavoidable, loitering in front of the hotel was a bit awkward at times. But this is not a huge issue given the community make a living on tourism which is equally important to the hotel and town.

Excellent hospitality at Paternoster Hotel - Our 2nd time with no regrets. Miss the place and the friendly staff already. The staff will meet your every request. Nothing is too much trouble, you only need to make your requests known and it will be done. Charisma (Front Office) is an absolute Star and so is Tannie Fennis (House Keeping) a true Gem. We were sad to leave and so is Charisma when the quests leave. Gives one such a good fuzzy feeling and you feel glad that you've been. We will definitely be back next year same time - God willing🌺
We have no regrets except that it would've been nice to have a little bar fridge in our room but having said that, it really isn't a train smash. We could ask to keep our wine in the fridge and for ice at anytime. So we are happy chappies🌺

The hotel has a special atmosphere, given that it has vintage furniture. Very popular with young people in Europe. Hostels there would fight for it! The hotel has the vibe of a hostel anyway which I like. The bar caters to locals which increases the special atmosphere of the place. It’s definitely clean, also the linen on the beds. The location seaside Paternoster good. Spacious parking. I would stay here again when I will come back to Paternoster.

I love history and old buildings. The hotel has both. Very spacious room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. My stay was a very short stopover to meet up with old friends living in Paternoster. I did not make use of the included breakfasts as they were served on the late side for my cramped schedule. Safe parking. The hotel is PERFECTLY situated for walking excursions.
This response have NOTHING to do with disliking anything. They serve breakfast from 8:30 in the morning which unfortunately was too late for my schedule to have experienced.

Staff were friendly and service was fantastic. I loved the location and the West Coast vibe. Cute little bar and fireplaces in the lounge and dining room. The food was delicious...much better than some of the restaurants around and it was more comfortable eating at the hotel in a relaxed atmosphere. This is a West Coast hotel with a popular pub. It's basic yet sufficient and perfect for a family outing to see the seaside, watch rugby and have a few drinks.
Nothing really seemed liked a biggy worth complaining about because the hotel is as advertised. The shower can dribble if someone in a nearby room is showering at the same time. Once I waited a few minutes, I had a nice warm shower.

The breakfast was exceptionally delicious and expertly prepared. The lady who served me was incredibly friendly, which added to the wonderful experience. The portion size of the food was impressively generous as well. And I must say, the cappuccino was absolutely outstanding!
I opted for the seafood platter for dinner. While the quality of the food was satisfactory, I regret to mention that it was poorly prepared. Unfortunately, the fried fish lacked the desired crispiness and had an excess of oil. As a guest at the hotel, I had anticipated my meal to be served on a plate with proper cutlery. However, to my surprise, it was brought to me in a plastic bag, presented in a takeout container.

Great breakfast and really friendly helpful staff. Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable. Centrally situated with quaint little bar and bar staff super friendly.
Linen and towels need replacing as becoming threadbare. Bathroom/ shower very outdated and water from shower was not strong. Did look at the modern section which hd been fully booked and has had a nice upgrade. Now just for rooms on the side.

The hotel is a great old friendly place, and you can spend hours in the Panty Bar talking to visitors and locals alike. Breakfast was served efficiently and promptly by friendly staff, all meals came together and the quality was very good. Good value for money considering the location and breakfast being included.
The locks on the room door and bathroom are ill fitting. The bed sheets and pillows are a bit yellow - nothing a bit of extra bleach couldn't sort out.

The breakfast was scrumptious. The breakfast menu has a good variety and the portions are generous They serve an amazing Savoury Omlette served with sausage, bacon, toast, coffee, juice and jams. The staff are friendly and efficient and will go out of their way to meet your requests always checking with you to determine if you are okay. Hats off to Carisma and Tannie Fran who took good care of us during our stay - Def. be back next year God willing.
We have no complaints except that we would've like to have a little mini fridge in our room but having said so, we could always request some ice which was happily given to us at no extra cost.
