The perfect drop off for the last couple of days of relaxing in Sri Lanka. Quite secluded away from the hustle and bustle, small town 5 minutes walk away with Coop and food city. Main town is 20 minutes drive. We absolutely loved every minute of it, the pool was great, so accommodating, the food is amazing. Absolutely gorgeous grounds where the owner has taking a lot of time to plant a variety of fruit trees, vegetables, flowers and fauna. Staff are one of a kind. Room spacious, good air con, comfortable beds. Airport drop off/transfer smooth and such a wonderful guy.

A small fridge in the room would have been the icing on the cake! But other than that it was amazing. Gutted we didn’t have longer!

Firstival i would like you thank you to the manager for his super support in all needs. We have felt from the first moment very welcome and he is a perfect host. The all amenity is in a very beautiful garden located. Clean and big pool. Very tasty hotel own restaurant. They cook everything freshly picked from own garden. We had Tree house(van)and Lemon grass(ac) rooms. Both are great and very clean. Wake up service and free airport shuttle @4:30 am made our stay unforgettable. I really recommend to stay here. Location before flight or after landing can not be better. (15min) One more very important point: You can pay with credit card or just use all rest rupies and settle rhe rest by card 👍

I really felt welcome at this stay and enjoyed my time there a lot, even stayed for one night longer than planed because it's an amazing place to calm down after arriving in Sri Lanka or before going back home. The stuff is very friendly, the breakfast was super delicious and I also liked the cooling in the pool! Also the area itself is beautiful with all the animals and plants. I'm a solo traveler and really appreciated the help of the resort manager and his team. The manager even took me to the beach one day so I could hand out there for a couple of hours. They also show me the way to the bus station. Beds are very comfortable.

The property had a variety of accommodations and is surrounded by a beautiful garden full of ill kinds of amazing plants and animals. Each Building has been designed specifically by the owner and is built to a high standard that makes you stay all the more enjoyable! Upon arrival we were greeted by Bernard and his amazing staff. The check in was not only easy but enjoyable as we had a full tour of the property by Bernard showing us his amazing garden and his beautiful villas. The whole experience was amazing! Our first night in Sri Lanka and the resort and staff gave us the perfect welcome! - Lovely owner. Friendly staff. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome, including showing us the resort and the animals onsite (e.g., rabbits!), helping us with currency exchange, getting a SIM card, etc. - Very nice grounds. Lots of plants (many labelled), water features, etc. - Nice, clean swimming pool. - Simple, but hearty food and very generous portions! - Nice rooms. Good size, big beds. - Easy airport pick-up. While the resort has a good score, we are surprised it isn’t higher! (e.g., 9+!).

Nothing we didn’t like. There isn’t much of note in the surrounding area, but this isn’t the point of the resort. It is near the airport and the resort itself is great to relax in. There are local stores nearby if you need groceries, SIM card, etc.

Staying at Steps Garden Resort was like stepping into a tropical oasis! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like VIPs, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. And let me tell you about the restaurant – the food was out of this world! Every meal was a delicious adventure, with flavors that left us craving more. If you're looking for a slice of paradise with incredible staff and mouthwatering cuisine, look no further than Steps Garden Resort.

Steps was exceptional..Owner picked me up at airport no problem as he had been messaging on WhatsApp before. Short ride to resort..greeted by other staff and fresh juice. Room was lovely and quiet, AC and mossie net. Shower hot. Had a nice swim in pool that is surrounded by garden..fresh food cooked to order in restaurant. Breakfast was good . especially fruit. Staff gave me a lift to Negombo bus station. I think a very good option post and pre long haul

The environment is such a beautifully nurtured ecosystem, great effort. Very friendly and helpful manager&staff. The Cabanas were wonderfully constructed. Owner Bernard Stephen and Manager Milanjan were exceptionally friendly and helpful, truly enjoying the conversation.

The two decks Cabanas need to consider a bit more sound proof improvement and the cigarette smell also can get through the floor into the other unit.

Communication, rooms, garden, food. The owner took us to see his friend's fair trade spice factory - free - which was really impressive. The manager was extremely helpful. We checked out at 5pm for our flight at no extra cost and with everything arranged. The resort is lovely with very clear green and eco credentials. Yes it's a transit hotel but for the money it's brilliant.

Steps is a beautiful spot surrounded by native plants that emerge you in the best greenery of Sri Lanka. The staff are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to help. They even provided Sri Lankan breakfast on request. The rooms are beautifully built.

They could provide mosquito nets on doors/beds just for peace of mind.
