Friendly staff, good location to explore the Western Lakes, lovely setting by the river. The pub looks like it had a revamp, a great sun trap outside. Breakfast was spot on, staff very accommodating if you wanted something off the menu like just a sausage sandwich, nice filter coffee with other drinks options. In the evening, pub food again was good, there is a little sports section at one end, i.e tables with TVs, but plenty of room else were away from this section. The rooms were comfortable, and clean, all that you needed for a couple of nights stay., good shower, big enough bed, TV etc. Its very dog friendly (I ain't but it doesn't bother me as it's the lakes). I would stay again, didn't take a lot of pics.

The rooms even though it was clean, more than adequate and we felt comfortable and relaxed, probably needed updating. However, this is a fairly big place so it is something that cannot happen overnight as it looks like they started with the pub. Don't let it put you off, it's more than enough.

The location was perfect for us. Breakfast was excellent and our room was lovely. It had lots of character. My partner loved dinner, the steak and ale pie was amazing. Lots of real ale options.

I was a little disappointed about dinner. I ordered an open goats cheese sandwich but felt it was very expensive considering what it was. We waited quite a while for food, I think it was nearly 40 minutes in the end but I think there was an issue in the kitchen as I overheard a staff member saying they had made a mistake . One lovely member of staff was obviously training two new members and had to keep telling them to do simple things as well as fixing things they hadn't done. I've had to train staff in that environment many times so I don't envy him at all and he kept very calm and served everyone as fast as he could.

Great pub and food - great location to stay for Sca Fell Pike - bar staff pleasant and friendly, lady for first morning breakfast very pleasant, different lady for breakfast second morning was extremely rude and unpleasant. Breakfast was excellent -cost for single room great value. recommend this hotel but not the single rooms.

Staff member on second day for breakfast - very grumpy and extremely rude even though there was just myself and 2 other people sitting for breakfast. No fruit juice or water and when asked was moaning and a very unpleasant woman. Dread to think if more people than 3 were sat for breakfast. Not sure what the issue was with her. Her attitude has resulted in my poor score for the hotel. Single rooms are small - I mean very small- bed has no head board and again very narrow so so uncomfortable. The hotel wasn't full - maybe a free upgrade to a decent room would help the reviews. If you stay in a single room be prepared for a rough time. That said what to expect for what I paid and breakfast included.

From arriving later than we expected amd checking out early the next morning, the staff were absolutely fantastic!! All very polite. The food was delicious....there was a wait for the food, however it was very much worth it once it arrived. The bedrooms were lovely and cosy , we all had a very good night's sleep. We also had a packed lunch made for us as we departed early. After a huge hike up Skafell Pike and a dip in the river leading to wastwater, we headed back to the bridge Inn for a perfect tea of scampi and chips before making our way home back to lancashire - the chunky chips are absolutely amazing!! Made the way chips should be made - the old fashioned way. Lovely, lovely, lovely!! Thank-you bridge inn for making birthday memorable!!

Pet friendly hotel, made us feel very welcome with our labrador when we checked in last minute due to bad weather conditions (had planned to be camping). The staff were friendly and the breakfast was amazing - amazing quality and value for money. Lovely location.

The hallways and landing are very creaky (as you'd expect with an old building) - however this does mean that when taking our dog out for a wee this would disrupt other rooms with dogs and set them all off barking. Our dog did struggle to settle because of the noise from other rooms. I guess this is something you expect when staying in an old building with a dog, however it is good to know if you have a reactive dog. Ringo has stayed in hotels before and been fine - as he hasn't been able to hear noise from other rooms. For this reason we probably wouldn't stay again with our dog, although it was perfect for our last minute stop off in the area.

Excellent location for the Wasdale fells. We were allocated a room designed for people with a disability but as a result it was larger than usual and suited our purposes. The meals (dinner and breakfast) were hearty and good quality. The waiting staff were friendly and very helpful. I have stayed before and will stay again

The only slightly disappointing feature was the bar manager (possibly also the hotel manager) whose manner was more somewhat abrupt and less friendly/welcoming. I did not allow this to affect my enjoyment of my stay, however

Property was great value for money. Inside bar/restaurant areas are really lovely, perfect place to unwind. Both breakfast and evening meal were tasty and plenty of choice of drinks. Biggest asset are the staff. Really friendly and accommodating. Managed to book a table of six for dinner ahead of our stay, in the morning a table of six for breakfast was already there waiting. A welcome change from the more crowded areas of the Lake District, and the hotel has ample parking. We went for a hike around Burnmoor tarn, setting off from Dalegarth railway only ten minutes away from the Bridge Inn and had a lovely day. Plenty choice of other walks near. Would not hesitate to stay again, thank you very much for having us!

All the Staff there were exceptional very friendly and helpful. Reception, cleaning, bar and cooks all helped in someway during our stay I.e slept through breakfast but still offered toast cereal and coffee was helped with directions home etc Food was lovely and big portions too. Rooms very clean and comfortable nice relaxed vibe . Very dog friendly

Only thing (which is nothing to do with the inn itself) is the route the sat nav can take you to get there as a warning if you are coming from windermere way be very careful the sat nav does not take you wrynose hardknot pass way as it is a terrifying white knuckle ride all the way there. And once you are on it there is no turning back best to Google hardknot pass if you are thinking about attempting to go that way as really wish we had had this warning

Booked this as a last minute trip and what an absolute gem this place is. Great location, great value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Humphrey and Kate. We were a couple with two dogs. If you are looking for a dog friendly place this is it. They are welcome throughout the pub at all tables and they loved being part of the trip. We had an evening meal which was delicious and then the included breakfast was delicious too. We had a standard double room. Which was snug but incredibly warm considering outside was -3 at the time we were there. Nice hot water, clean room and the building has been renovated to a high standard. You won’t be disappointed

Nothing thought the whole experience was great thank you

The full English breakfast was one of the best I have ever had, and at dinner the goat's cheese salad was one of the best salads I'd ever had. The room, despite being a tiny single, was fully appointed and once I had turned the radiator off was very comfortable. The bar had a good range of real ales.

In the bar and eating area staff would disappear for ages and so you often had to wait quite a long time at the bar before anybody appeared.
