Room 25 on first floor was superb .Very clean looked to have been recently refurbished ,as there was a new sink in the bathroom still had manufacturers label on ,new kettle in bedroom and new mugs still had labels on them ,bed was very comfy ,soft and lovely clean bedding the carpet was very clean and thick too .There was a bath and an overhead shower ,the bath was huge really deep and long ,the water was lovely and hot too and it didn't take long for the bath to fill up . .Plenty of switches next to bed so you could switch lights off without getting out of bed at night or morning .Lots of usb charging points by bed too and there was a table on either side of the bed which were quite spacious for putting a lap top on ,or books ,a drink etc . There were black out curtains in the bedroom which worked very well but no net curtains so quite exposed to the building next door .The hotel inside was lovely and clean a few scuffs here and there but nothing serious . .Lovely marble flooring as you walked into hotel .Checking in was easy and quick and the guy on reception was very friendly and helpful . There is no breakfast served there but there are places to eat a short drive or walk away . There is a bar also in the pub that is open until late most nights and there is an adjoining restaurant that does meals at weekends and some evenings . There is free onsite parking too which is also spacious but you must be a guest at the hotel to use it for free .

We had no issues with our stay ,it was excellent value for money ,previous reviews had left us wondering what we would be walking into ,but it was alot lot better than we were expecting .There was a smell of smoke just as we walked up the first few steps to our room and we noticed it a few times ,but we wondered if it was from people smoking outside and it was blowing in through a vent there . If they are doing this hotel up then they are doing a good job not an easy task and not cheap to do either but the end result will be superb .

The beds were very comfortable and the staff were constantly available to service the room at a time that suits. Endless tea and coffee in the room, exactly what I needed to start and finish each day! 24 hour desk was handy and the location, just around the corner from the rail station was perfect for me!

No restaurant, but no problem outside the hotel as Coventry knows how to eat in an evening!

Definitely worth every penny! So bad it was good. Pillows thin enough to shave with, one of them given to me out of another room because almost all their stock was supposedly in laundry. The plug socket was under the fitted table too far for the kettle lead to reach, so somebody had kindly torn the table off the wall. Room smelled of dead mouse. Every few hours the keycard gave up the ghost and I had to get a new one. I enjoyed my stay a lot, spent much of it laughing my ass off. I wanted the Fawlty Towers experience and this is as close as I have ever got.At just twenty quid a night I will definitely stay again for the sheer entertainment value. Doubt my girlfriend will.....

The staff were amazing! In particular, Rami was excellent. Free parking & WiFi. Excellent large room , clean bedding, clean towels, and tea facilities. Decent size tv Security cameras everywhere felt very safe Had no issues with any other guests. the hotel is known for housing the homeless, which we found admiral. Everyone we came across was polite and didn't bother us at all. No noise at nighttime, had a lovely sleep. Very spacious room.

No hot water for bath

I loved it there it was within walking distance from the train station the manager on reception was friendly my room was a good size and bright the bed was very comfortable there was a lovely ensuite I would recommend the Hylands Hotel.

I suppose it would have been nice to have a lift but the stairs were manageable.

I booked this reluctantly as some of the reviews were terrible but I was pleasantly surprised, my room was dated but really clean. The staff were welcoming and I had no issues during my stay. The location is good and handy for city centre its only a few minutes walk away

The fixtures and fittings could of been improved but for a budget hotel everything was to an acceptable standard

Having stayed at the hotel a few years back and vowing to never book again, I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements that have been made. General decor is much better and rooms now more than adequate.

No real issues. Could still do with a little more of a touch up. Few bits more painted and new carpets perhaps.

Again, I am very happy to experience this hotel. The employee, Rami, helps you with everything and welcomes you every day during my stay. He is very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are excellent and some of them are very spacious and clean. It is not true what you saw from the evaluation. A hotel needs a better evaluation. Try to warn Overnight and you will see the hospitality, welcome and warmth in the place. A happy stay as I liked my stay with them.

For the price I paid, hotel more than met expectations. Big double ensuite with comfy bed. Clean room. Electrics and plumbing albeit old worked fine.. Big TV. Very quiet room as 30 m away from main road. Friendly staff doing a good job.

This hotel gets very bad reviews as it is old and has lacked investment over the years but customers have to review it in function of the price. I paid £39 and in places one bed in a dorm costs more than £30. No breakfast is provided but I found a very good cafe where I had full English in the centre of town.

I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and clean the rooms were - it wasn't the Ritz but given the price nobody should expect that! The reviews really worried me but actually it was a perfectly fine stay.

There was a bit of a musty(?) smell in the room, and I spotted maybe 1 thing that could be cleaner but it certainly wasn't bad. Again, really pleasantly surprised and happy with what I got for my money.
