The owner was extremely nice!!! We were late for Yukata renting and I asked her for some advices. Instead she called the rental place and arranged that for us, return our Yukata the next morning when we checked out. (Normally you should return the Yukata by four pm but she talked to the rental place for us!)

Everything was nice

This is the best place I have ever stayed in OITA. The house is very nice and very cozy. It is very warm and the place is very beautiful! Even my mum and dad who do not normally say anything was very vocal how much they love the place. The owners were very helpful and very warm people too. Just a note that you cannot go here without a car because it is in the middle of the forest. But renting a car and going here was the best decision we have made for our whole Fukuoka trip!

This stay was really amazing. The owners are the sweetest ! We didn't have a car, so they drove us to the village for Onsen and groceries, and gave us great advice. We just had to take a taxi back, and enjoy our time at the huge and well-furnished cottage. The bathroom is amazing, and you can even privatize Mori's cottage's Onsen. Mori no cottage goes above and beyond. Thank you so much!

I think it's easier to come with a car, but if you don't, the owners will make sure you can enjoy it all the same.

The owners were so friendly and nice, they knew we were looking at houses to buy and were excited to show us their beautiful kominka (old Japanese house). We asked about a laundromat in town and they let us use theirs, which was great because the other one closed before 7pm and we would've had to rush back from dinner or our onsen in Kurokawa village. We didn't cook but the kitchen in this cabin was big and perfect for longer stays and cooking meals.

The staff is very friendly and helpful especially when i face difficulties in winter time. Really appreciate their help on finding snow chain for my tyre as i don know it will snow heavily during my stay there. After seeing news in the tv, only realise the time i arrive, it snows heavily in 10 years. The cottage is very comfy and nice for family getaway. Location wise very near to Kurokawa onsen and Kuju ski resort but itnis better if you have a car.

They should have inform me to pay when i went into their office as I also forgot that it should pay at property as all hotel i booked via booking.com is auto charge to credit card. Lucky i was 25km away when I saw their message as i am on my way to fukuoka or else i think i just bank transfer to them 😅 This cottage dont suit for winter time as onsen also not availabe as it is frozen.

The couple were the best hosts. They helped us with everything, from advising us on the best onsen, to driving us between the accommodation and Kurokawa. It's a beautiful place to stay and we loved it.

We did not have a car and we were very lucky that the owners were so friendly and drove us around, because it is quite a walk from the onsen town.

A charming wooden cottage with a great covered terrace. A large onsen that we booked for ourselves. A lot of birds and foxes wandering around the parking lot in the morning!

The cottage that we got only had two bunk-beds. No chair/sofa in the living room. A rather small bathroom.

We had the whole cottage for our stay. There was a small kitchen to cook our own food. The place was accessible by car, actually you have to have a car to get there. There was free WiFi.

The cottage was really nice but they gave us bunk beds. It would have been so much better to have regular beds. There is nothing really to complain about everything was fine other than the bunk beds.

The owners are really very friendly! they took me to the city two times with their car. They brought me coffee and snacks on arrival and helped to carry my heavy luggage. Private onsen for a small sum was really just great and beautiful! The cottage is cozy and has everything you might need.

The only disadvantage is the location: up the hill with a heavy luggage and in the darkness (the cottage is in the forest) for around 25 minutes from the city center- it’s a lot.
