Home away from home sums it up well. The room we had was beautifully designed with incredible view of the lake. Every detail was taken into consideration with impeccable taste. They provided our son with a set of 2 robes as they weren't sure of his exact size! We got also a welcome gift of some sweets for our son, fruit and wine and complimentary bottles of water which were replaced when preparing the room for us before going to bed. We also had a delicious meal in the hotel restaurant accompanied with good Slovakian wine with children's cutlery for our son! Very attentive staff and beautiful spa with a view to the lake!

Our stay at Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The staff took care of parking our car and even made sure our electric vehicle was charged, which was a thoughtful touch. While we settled in, we were welcomed with a glass of Kempinski sparkling wine, a perfect way to begin our stay. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was incredibly inviting, with a lovely scent that added to the overall experience. The level of service was outstanding – every staff member was professional, attentive, and genuinely focused on making our stay as enjoyable as possible. When we were escorted to our room, we were pleasantly surprised to find a personal letter from the General Manager, which made us feel truly valued. The room itself was gorgeous, with beautiful wooden furnishings that gave it a luxurious feel. The quality of everything – from the furniture to the bedding – was top-notch, and we couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable stay. We also had the pleasure of dining at the hotel restaurant, where I especially appreciated that the staff asked about any food allergies or intolerances upfront. As someone who can’t have lactose, this attention to detail was much appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious. The wellness area was incredible, offering stunning views of the lake and mountains. With saunas, a pool, a hot tub, and exceptionally comfortable lounge chairs, it was the perfect place to unwind. They even offered drinks and snacks in the spa, which was a thoughtful bonus. In the evenings, the lobby bar, with its large fireplace, created the perfect atmosphere to relax. The reception staff were also incredibly accommodating, allowing us to enjoy a later checkout, which made our departure much more relaxed. All in all, this wasn’t just a stay – it was an unforgettable experience. I would rate the Kempinski Hotel Tatra Mountains a solid 10/10 and highly recommend it.

The only minor downside was that there was no option to watch Netflix on the TV, which would have been a nice addition to an otherwise perfect stay.

A fantastic hotel in the High Tatras, located just next to a beautiful (but touristy) lake. The hotel is like a castle from a fairy tale. The staff is very professional and exceptionally friendly. We rented eBikes in the hotel (they have 4) and they gave us advice on a route to follow to a high mountain lake. They also helped us very well to buy last minute tickets to Skalnatá dolina (an observatory located on the top of a mountain, only accessible via a cable car that can be booked in advance, a must do). Swimming pool area is very nice and equipped with all services (including food & beverage). The breakfast in the grand restaurant was excellent.

The rooms do not have air conditioning. By the way, we have noticed that most hotels in Slovakia do not have air conditioning. Perhaps that need was much smaller in the past, but with today's warmer summers. The hotel does provide (nice) fans to keep you cool. Fortunately, the mountain air is much cooler at night and can keep the room fresh in a smarter way.

We liked everything, everything! The most beautiful atmosphere in the hotel, like a fairytale. It is the best hotel we have ever been! We should stay for 3 nights, but we stayed one night longer. They think of every detail. especially for children :) We had everything possible for our child in the room (little sleepers, cosmetics..) Special thanks to the girls from kids club, they were wonderful. Also greetings for waitress Anita, very nice and willing to help :) Thank you very much and see you soon!

There is absolutely nothing we didn`t like.

This was undoubtedly the best stay we've ever had (and we travel a lot). Beautiful hotel with fairytale atmosphere, clean, nice and comfy rooms. The staff here is excellent and professional, they met all our (well my, as I have food allergies) needs when dining and for breakfasts. Spa was exceptional and a great massage helped me to recharge and de-stress. I cannot wait to return here. Thank you very much! :)

Most beautiful setting in Europe with very high quality accommodation and spa.

We booked a Delux Lake view room but upon arrival, we were told the Booking.com sent out the incorrect confirmations and we were then allocated a room with a view that we did not book nor paid for. Our room had a view of nothing at the back of the hotel. This was a big problem because this is only told at check-in with no ohter suitable hotels for miles in that area as an alternative. I think the hotel was dishonest about this. I think they sell off the rooms for more money and then allocated to poorer rooms to the Booking.com customers, then also blame Booking.com. This is a real problem. This 4 night visit was very expensive and then in an inferior room as well. Also be prepared that nothing, and I mean nothing, is for free at this establishment.

The location, it was right next to the lake. The property had Cigar room which was amazing. Coffee lounge, fire places, Game area and world class spa with Sauns, jacuzzi and big pool with chandeliers. the chars in the pool were actuall the mostt comfortable sofas we had ever been to. And the view from pool, was just wow. The most important of all was amazing service the staff offered, it was as if i was transported to a different era where all your needs were taken care of. And the restaurant and its service, we booked a dinner and it felt lile michlen star place and food. We are definitely going to come again.

Breakfast and the spa experience were very good. The bar area is rather lively and the choice of food and drinks is good. The location however is simply unbeatable with its views of either the very close stunning High Tatras and a lake or of the beautiful Low Tatras at a distance. If you can afford it make sure you enjoy this hotel, arguably Slovakia's very best.

Not unsurprisingly, this hotel will damage your bank card and the clientele will be either well off or extremely well off. Attracting several local guests as well as those from neighbouring eastern European countries means it will be an immersion into the Nouveaux Riches's behaviour often coloured by suggar daddies' trophy "conquests".

Magical place, beautiful castle hotel, beautiful view, nice room

Terrible dinner, I had to go another day to a 3-star hotel to have a proper good dinner as Kempinski food is not premium quality. Not too many programs mostly not fo the kids. No proper parking place, only on the side of the hotel. AC was not working properly it was too hot in the room.

I wanted to stay in this property since I was a child and it was exactly how I imagined it to be if not more. The property itself has a fantastic location with breathtaking scenery. The hotel is super clean and the staff is delivering an outstanding service making you feel very special. Food, service, room service, cleaning ladies all are at the highest level imaginable. Special thanks for Simon and his team to making my husband's and daughter's birthday surprise so special. Going for the extra mile with the ballon decoration, cake and wine. Arranging to have interconnected rooms. The breakfast was not too bad, however needs some compromising attention. For lunch we have been using the Hotels Lobby/bar. It has exceeded our expectations. Was yummy, fresh and cooked to perfection. Also strongly recommend the hotel Grand restaurant for dinner. We decided to have a birthday dinner celebration there.. Was delicius. Their menu is keeping the elements of nature and forest in its food creating a very unique experience. On our departure day we have also been presented with a small goody bag of local , dry tea packs and soft drinks. What a way to finish our stay! Thank you again, we really enjoyed our stay and will make sure to be back! PS. next time hoping to use your award winning SPA experiance :)

At breakfast eggs were fried on butter , we asked if vegetable oil or olive oil can be used. However they were not able to accommodate. The Hotel has organised a transport pick up from the Poprad-Tatry airport, unfortunately the mini bus was dirty , smelly and old. Would have expected a better , more classier option. However this had no impact on our fantastic stay!
