The hotel preserved its historic heritage and I really felt set back into more glamorous times without all the menaces of the 2020s. The breakfast and dinner is excellent. So is the staff at the restaurant and bar and their manager. The spa area with pool bar, heated pools and a spacious hot pool/tub is amazing. Location right next to the cable car up to Hrebienok couldn't be better.

Im contrast to the nice staff at the restaurant and housekeeping, the personnel at the reception desk can be called "reserved" at best. There was also one particular unfriendly and non helpful guy working at the reception, that ruined our first experience during arrival. Standard rooms are quite small. Some furniture is outdated. The hotel provided a mat for our dog that had numerous pee stains on it and never saw cleaning. A small hygenic scandal.

Almost everything. The spa is excellent, and the location can not be better. Stylish art nouveau hotel with glamour.

The bathroom is not well designed, is worn out a bit, and would definitely do with a face lift. The shower head is mounted in a way you flood the bathroom, and the glass shower curtain is fitted in a way it is far from the shower head. The whole bathroom looks sterile, not in par with the style of the room and the rest of the hotel. The bathroom lets the room down. Parking charges differ largely based on where and how you book your stay. They are not fixed. Quite frankly, it is petty they are not included as part of the stay at the rates the hotel charges.

Excellent location, excellent view, excellent breakfast, very-well maintained 120-year old hotel building just at the Tatry mountain, in the forest, close to the railway station of the Tatra electric railway.

The staff is very firendly, Laura and most of the receptionist are very friendly and polite, helpful and open. There was one "serious exception", the only reason that this time is had to decrease my maximal 100 % points: Ladislav, recetionist evening 20th July is the opposite. Slow, unfriendly, non-informative and impolite. I am, and I will still remain your regular guest, I consider Ladislav as my only bad experience since 1999. Grand Hotel Stary Smokovec is still great ! I found the staff particularly polite and helpful. The waiter service was particularly good especially when I was choosing from the menu. Laura at reception was excellent is showing us some of the hikes we could try and helped us when we had any difficulties with administration. It was much appreciated. Her English was outstanding.

Although we paid for hotel parking, on 2 occasions there was no car parking spaces in the hotel so we had to park in a public car park with cost us 30 euros. I think the hotel needs to address this situation.

We loved everything about our stay in Grand hotel Stary Smokovec. It was not our first time there, but it was the first time with our toddler and she had the absolute best time! The staff was super kind and helped us with everything we needed. They also made special arrangement regarding our room - extra bed for no fee and bathrobe and cute slippers for our little one. The hotel is simply beautiful and has great amenities - The spa and wellness is very clean, well organised and super pleasant. Children can play in huge kids room close to the bar so the parents can enjoy coffee, drinks and even food while watching their children having great time. The restaurant was awesome - tasty food and many many options for breakfast, lunch and amazing a la carte dinner. Even special request of our daughter for a glass of milk in the evening was fulfilled! The hotel staff is a team of great professionals. The fact that there is private parking right in front of the hotel and the location of this hotel being in the center of Stary Smokovec is obviously a huge +. You can choose from variety of rooms, we had a junior suite and it was very spacious and quiet with a view from one side on Lomnicky stit and from the other on the sunrise above Poprad. We will definitely come back again!

Peaceful location in a rather busy resort, nicely designed comfortable rooms, beautifully designed wellness centre with several types of saunas and massages. A nice bar terrace with a view as well as many seating areas, with a grand piano in the inside bar area.

Breakfast and dinner is served in elegant dining areas and good effort is made to offer Slovak dishes. In the dinner bufet I found the deserts disappointing. I appreciated a good selection of oils and in the salad bufet. Freshly made pancakes with a choice of filling and semolina pudding are a nice choice, however for a hotel of this standard more home made and regional products in the bread and cake line should be included. Particularly the bread was rather poor, mainly mass produced dry rolls. In general more promotion of typical regional products would be desirable.

Excellent, professional and very nice staff in the restaurant, hotel spa and Kids club. Delicious food for breakfast and dinners, excellent variety of wines, great brand new wellness (if you go for a massage, ask for masseur Jožko). Rooms are very nicely arranged and surprisingly spacious, given the historical premises of the Hotel.

I was annoyed by the ridiculously early check-out time at 10:00. If you ask for a later check-out, Hotel would charge you for every hour, even the Gopass holders. It´s very upsetting, especially when the breakfast is also served until 10am.

We very much enjoyed our recent stay at Grad Hotel Stary Smokovec. We looked forward to returning each afternoon from a days skiing knowing that the first class facilities in the spa awaited us. The food was also fantastic with a different selection each day for both breakfast and the evening meals. The hotel was exceptionally tidy and clean and had a wonderful fragrance throughout which really made us feel as though we were staying somewhere special. The evening kids club allows the adults to enjoy a drink across the hall way just before bed. The shower in our room was a little odd in that you couldn’t stand beneath it, you had to angle it away to ensure you didn’t soak the floor but the facilities were otherwise immaculate with daily house keeping maintaining the highest standards. We found that car parking can be a little tricky if you arrive after 5pm but there were paid alternatives nearby, and in any case, just a minor inconvenience when you consider you are a stones throw from the Mountains. Excellent location, beautiful, 120year old building. 100 meter from the cable car and the Tatra Electric Railway. Perfect location for mountain climbing and excusions. Very good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff with one exception. Good wellness department.

The friendly and helpful reception team's strong exception is "Ladislav", receptionist in duty evening July 20. Non friendly, not giving information, actually even refusing to answer questions.

The 120 year-old hotel looks very stylish and our apartment was so comfortable (and named after a 4x olympic champion). I’ve never been a hotel that motivates me to know more and more of its history. Wellness, bar and restaurant was very good. Both the hotel, city and the mountain are perfect combination for relaxing days.

Carpet of the sofa in the apartment (feels like plastic / looks good). Staff is good, however I didn’t feel all the time that Im in a 4• hotel (reception, restaurant).
