Oubaai is a beautiful place, the pool is beautiful and peaceful. The room was refreshed once a day and stocked with new water/teas/coffees. Super comfortable bed and a beautiful bath to relax in. We loved breakfast and all the options it offered.

The spa facilities needs an upgrade, overall comparing it to the standards of the hotel it does not meet the expectations of the hotel. For guests that work later than 5 it is not possible to relax and enjoy in the spa as it closes at 5pm.

The breakfast was excellent, with the widest choice I have seen anywhere. Lots of fruit, deli foods, cheese, patisserie, eggs cooked to your liking, bacon and non halal stuff on separate counter. Could have been more choice of teas, and better fruit juices. The infrastructure of the hotel is very impressive. The rooms are well designed and spacious with adequate storage The staff throughout were friendly. The receptionist who greeted us was outstanding, a management trainee, I believe. The equipment in the gym was top class and abundant.

The catering facilities are lacking. Whilst breakfast is great in the Cucina,, the only dinner options are the Sports bar, which is noisy, with music, or getting a shuttle down to the clubhouse at the golf club. You can get room service food, but i dont want to eat where i sleep.The food there is excellent and reasonably priced, but I don't like trekking a couple of miles from my hotel to the dining room. The hotel is showing signs of wear and I don't think the maintenance budget is big enough.

The rooms were excellent The breakfast was very nice and there was a lot to choose from. It was a true full English Breakfast. The hot breakfast was out of this world. The staff was very responsive and friendly. The room service was on spot. The could serve you anything within minutes.

The dinner menu was very limited. The dinner menu isn’t as tasty as the breakfast menu. The tap water was brown but at least for my room not all the days. The reception staff need to be more resourceful about nearby places of interest. That information should be in their finger tips.

Good value for money. Beautiful views. Big spacious rooms.

Unfortunately the current exterior maintenance is understandable due to visible damp problems. But it doesn’t impact the stay negatively.

Oubaai Hotel is definitely the place to be. I took a little "Sabbatical" for a week and also celebrate my 60th birthday there. The facilities is amazing. The food - breakfast - was just amazing. The room service was excellent. The staff is amazing - friendly and so helpful. The stay was just too short.

It was a pity that the Whale deck was under construction, as I would have loved to go out there. I would wanted to have access to a walkway for long walks and thought before I booked that we would have had access to Oubaai estate walkways, but do understand it is private.

Staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast was excellent. Options included omelette on request, fruit salad, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, dried fruit and nuts, muffins, scones, danish, waffles, pancakes, different breads, juice, coffee, tea, and more... Location was great for a break away from the hustle and bustle without feeling secluded. Just a short drive away from the beautiful beach at Herold's Bay. The fresh ocean breeze, the sound of birds chirping, no noise pollution at all that I can remember. The bathtub and shower were awesome. Usually I miss my shower when I leave home but this was a great shower.

The jacuzzi/splash pool in the spa was filthy. I cannot overstate how dirty it was. There was a thick layer of a sand-like substance along the floor of it. The rim was brown with dirt. The walls were covered in mould and limescale up to the ceiling. The aircon wasn't working in our room. We just left the door open but that's not always ideal.

From the point of entry to the resort, we felt as if we were in another country. The property is exceptionally well taken care of, beautifully kept grounds and facilities. The open bathroom concept was a new one. I loved that you're able to slide the glass open and watch TV while in the tub. Thank you to Veronique for adding the special goodies to our room upon arrival,that extra touch was so special. I wish we had stayed longer than just the 2 nights we were there. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Oubaai and will be back indeed.

Opportunity for improvement would be to improve their TV quality and monitor the hot buffet foods as the sausages and mushrooms tend to be kn the colder side if not tended or "stirred" through once in a while

There were a few cleaning problems not major, 1. there in room 1036 is a pendant (hanging light) and the dust is so bad, my friend took it out easily and wrote clean on it, we both come from the hotel industry background, I was London she was KZN and we made sure that rooms are clean. 2. the toilet where your feet are when you sit, men tend to drip on the floor, there were in all three rooms I booked the pee drippings on the floor.

The room was spacious and clean and really well maintained. Breakfast - I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast and the lack of staff that were available. The staff that were there were run off their feet but was still pleasant which made up for the food and service. The food was good just wished they had more options available for the non-pork guest. Dinner at the restaurant was okay - we waited almost an hour for our food - not enough staff to handle the no of guest.
