George itself is more of a business town than a tourist destination but it is well-placed as a base to visit elsewhere, and is apparently famed throughout Germany as golf course central for the Western Cape. Although there is not much crime in the town, the property is gated, with the best parking spots double-gated. Many restaurants are walkable by daylight, and Uber is active all day and after dark. Very much the creation of its multi-lingual owner-manager, who goes out of his way to make you welcome.

We stayed in the height of summer and felt the absence of aircon. The breakfast regime is not relaxed, with advance ordering required.

Absolutely beautiful property! Great beds, pillows, great breakfast (!!) and beautiful, quiet and safe surroundings. Everything was so well organized and Isabel was so lovely and accommodating; helping us with everything and giving great advice. A warm safe haven! A big shout out to the housekeeping ladies who did an amazing job. Highly, highly recommend!!

Can’t think of anything

The room was very pleasant, clean and quiet and there was safe parking. The property is exceptionally well located for access to the George business district and hospital. The building, dining room and lounge areas are very beautiful. Staff did everything possible to make sure our stay was a good one.

There was a bit of building going on, but the owner and staff ensured that this was not a big problem. It will surely be finished quite soon.

When you serve breakfast make sure to plate the bring out everyones order simultaneously. Only the two of us then the toast then his order and then minutes later my omelet. The matras was too small for the bedbase. Kept on banging my shins against the bedbase.

Very beautiful house, full of charm and stunning decoration ! The garden was big and the the shared area where also large and very welcoming. The room was including everything necessary and furnished with style.

A fridge in the room could have been appreciated but we also did not ask if it was possible to store anything in a commun fridge, which I am sure, should be possible.

Excellent host, great location, very clean. The beautiful guest house has lots of additional space like balconies and beautiful gardens to relax in so you don't feel stuck in a room and the hosts live in seperate area so guests have full access to house without feeling like you intruding which I love. Excellent free WiFi!

If there is load shedding there is no power but the shops, restaurants and the mall will have.

The location was perfect as I needed to be close to the Mediclinic facility. So was within walking distance. Breakfast was superb and when I went down at time indicated to Jan, my breakfast was there ready for me. Overall, perfect home away from home....and the room I was in...was majestic / fit for a king.

Nothing...I only did not ike that I could only stay for 2 days...it would have been great to stay longer...for more more days.

The guest house was exceptional and exceeded our expectations, beautifully laid out room, overlooking the magnificent garden. We didn't hear the other guests and it was so quiet and peaceful. Walking distance to the major restaurants was a bonus.

More of an observation than a dislike: It would have been nice to have a small fridge in our room for fresh milk and water.

The guesthouse is an absolute gem, beautifully located in a quiet area but so close to restaurants that we were able to walk and very safely. The staff are quiet and are barely seen and Jan as the owner and host is beyond attentive. He takes the time to get to know his guests and his breakfasts and attention to detail in the room is incredible. Safe parking and beautiful yard add to the 10/10.

Absolutely nothing

This is a lovely Guest House in a great location - an easy and safe walk to plenty of restaurants, secure parking, easy to find! Our room (Palm Suite) was spotlessly clean, well equipped, super comfortable and drinks on the balcony in the evening sunlight with views of the mountains was the final touch. A great experience. The gardens are well tended and make for a pleasant, relaxing stroll and moment to chill. We stayed 2 nights and would happily have stayed more as there's plenty to do around George. The owner (Jan) was resident while we were there. He couldn't do enough - a fantastic host. The slightest query about an extension lead was immediately sorted out, lots of explanation about the facilities and general help. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. Well equipped to handle load-shedding.
