Knysna Manor Guesthouse hit the perfect balance between "Professionalism" and homeliness. Every possible need has been catered for. The hosts are friendly yet not intrusive, and willing to assist in any manner. The level of comfort and efficiency is what is expected from an international five-star hotel. I can honestly say that I had the same experience at the Renaissance Hotel on Heathrow a few years ago. I will recommend this guesthouse to anyone travelling to the Knysna area. Thanks Richard and Mandy (and Gail) for making my stay a memorable one.

Super big walk-in closet! Walking distance to the waterfront, shops and restaurants was perfect. Nice breakfast and beautiful views. Good and safe parking. Pool small but nice.

Lots of stairs, but to be expected in an old house. Aircondition would have been nice but also understandable why it has not been installed in an old house.

Breakfast menu is superb. Richard and Madge very friendly and helpful.

Typical of many B&Bs - this is not a direct criticism of Knysna Manor House - TV reception is poor and the channel choices - for my taste - not worth bothering with. But I wasn't in Knysna to watch TV... Noise at night from the street, but there's not much can be done about it and I know Richard phoned police to take action, but...

Very neat and clean guest house. Manager is extremely helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Easy walk down to the Knysna waterfront area. Safe parking for cars inside the property.

Nice view from deck into the distance, but there is a filling station down below/behind the guest house that was a bit noisy during the day when we sat outside - that said, we were there between Christmas and New Year so probably busier that usual! Not off putting at all, and you don’t notice it when you’re inside, but just thought I’ll mention it as it’s not noticeable on the photos. Also, our room’s toilet and basin was in an on-suite, but the shower was in the room, next to the TV, so quite awkward! But room was very big. It seems that most rooms have different layouts and facilities, so maybe just ask about details of yours when you book.

Richard and Mandy are very lovely people who make you feel like you're home, from breakfast until a drink from their honesty bar, in the best way. the Guesthouse is located in walking distance to the waterfront and a mall. rooms are comfy and big, and you can enjoy the sunset from the huge balcony/terrace.

Everything! Richard and Mandy are great hosts and have a real gem on their hands through their hard work. We had a spacious room with large king size bed and all areas were very clean in every respect. The room we had is a bit quirky in that the shower unit is in the bedroom and not the bathroom but that didn’t matter to us. My partner says the towels were of the highest quality we’ve experienced anywhere in the world including 5 star hotels. Breakfast choice and quality is excellent with hot items cooked to order. The effort that had also gone into decorating the property throughout for Christmas is also worthy of praise and by far the best we’ve ever seen in our travels in South Africa at this time of year. Secure on site parking also provided. We will definitely stay here again when next in Knysna.

The hosts were friendly and went above and beyond for us. We were there for the Knysna Forest Half Marathon and they ensured we had a breakfast and snacks before the run, as well helped us with moving cars around. We will definitely be back next year. The place itself is warm and homey. The attention to detail was impeccable - from the coffee station in the room with hot chocolate, hot water bottles on the bed, lights for load shedding, the honesty bar and fireplace.

Charming old house in very good condition a bit up the hill which means there is a fabulous view of the town and lagoon. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Common areas are very comfortable and it is easy to interact with fellow guests. Breakfast is delicious.

Only a small window in my room

Richard, the host was very welcoming (he even parked my car for me and brought it up from the parking area the next morning). The room was comfortable and very clean and the views were wonderful. The breakfast and the choices offered were excellent. The location in terms of getting to my meeting quickly was great.

The only negative issue for me was the noise from the staff and patrons of the Shell Garage on the Main Road immediately below the guest house which went on through the night. Perhaps next time, a room in a different location in the house?

Richard and Mandy are really welcoming, Richard helped me out no end with dining options, how to get to the heads, what to see and both Richard and Mandy aided me in planning onward travel. The Manor is a lovely place with bright views over the town and estuary. My upgraded room was big and airy and was more than I expected . Breakfast was really great and there was plenty of choices. The location is handy to shopping and is an easy stroll to the waterfront and the thesans Islands and the nice cafes, bars and restaurants. The location is safe if you wanted a morning walk around the neighborhood. I would stay there again in the blink of an eye.
