I don't usually write reviews as I work for one of the largest travel, leisure and hotel groups in the world, but this stay was so exceptional that I must. From attentive, friendly staff that would always go above and beyond, through to a beautiful location and thoughtfully appointed rooms. I would highly reccomend this as a place to escape and relax. If you like high quality, this is definitely the place to be.

This stay has no negatives.

This is the best overall experience I have had in a hotel in several years, and I have just got back from a 3 week trip to Europe, and the experience at Steenberg is like no other. The great experience started with the check-in process, where I was ushered to sit down and relax, offered a glass of bubbly, while the required documentation was filled in. Room was great, including clean coffee machine and thoughtfully, proper milk in the fridge. Restaurant assisted me with a glass of fabulous Chardonnay, even though they were already closed. Awesome breakfast experience.

I would prefer the music in the restaurant not to be so loud.

The property was beautiful with stunning vineyards and countryside around. We really enjoyed the Bistro and ate there 3 out of 3 nights. We had a Junior suite which was very comfortable. General staff were also very friendly and helpful.

The noisy geese early in the mornings though this happens quite a lot in SA countryside and can't be helped ! We were not impressed with the main restaurant Tryna at breakfast where we found so many staff all asking how we were at the expense of taking orders and bringing our food. We had to ask twice to be more speedy with our breakfast as we had taxis coming for us and it was taking up to an hour to be served food even when there were very few other guests there. This put us off dining there in the evenings, though we loved the Bistro anyway and preferred this more casual option where service, food and drinks in the early evening around the pools were really enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

completely beautiful grounds, vast, beautiful scenery, food was delicious and there were two excellent options by way of restaurants. the vineyard on site was an added bonus and the spa was fantastic - highly recommend!

no gym on site but very kindly the staff drove me to the neighbouring virgin active gym and gave me a day pass so was no issue. the hotel was also not in central Cape Town, which was completely fine for me as I wanted a more relaxed quiet trip, otherwise all was really perfect

The entire experience exceeded our expectations. Let me begin by saying the staff is exceptional: very friendly and professional. Rooms are nice and comfortable. We had a little terrace where we could eat our breakfast. Pool area is lovely and was never crowded (December). Pool is heated. Plenty of Champaigne going around ! It’s nested in a beautiful vineyards and a park so ideal to just go around and chill with our 2 yo old boy. Both restaurants on the premises are yummy. I had a massage at the hotel spa and that was very good too.

Everything! The most amazing property, pool house, spa, grounds, restaurants, service second to none!!!! I really cannot fault this 5 star establishment. I mean, who has starters and mains for breakfast?? The unexpected and incredible art installation was an inspirational bonus. I would keep coming back to this oasis at every opportunity. Go at once if you can!

Nothing apart from lack of desk in the bedroom, but more than compensated by the amazing service finding me a place to work in the restaurant with power points, regular drinks and a very welcoming attitude.

We received an upgrade, into a large 2 Bedrooms, Kitchen, Pool Apartment version. As we were only two, we have chosen the cosy Bedroom under the roof. Everything is very, well designed, high quality furniture and bath rooms. The view of 23 over the winefield and the old oaks is spectacular. Helpful is also the multi standard powerstrips for about 6 different plugs. Samsung TV with open smart view. Great spa treatment. The food was very. Would be great to have a daily/weekly special menue. Beautiful garden and terrasses.

No gym. No personal sportstrainer. Style/Interior of restaurants doesn't fit to the exclusive Style of the appartement. The power generator is very loud and could be better isolated. The spa could be larger. Why does the hotel not offer helicopter trips starting from the hotel or exchange special offers with Mount Nelson hotel in Capetown. Jazzbrunch at Mount Nelson Hotel with Transfer for all guests for a special rate..

Outstanding location, service, food and wine. Beautiful room and grounds.

Only one thing let us down. We had to leave early for a flight and did not have time to have our included breakfast. We were not told about the possibility of ‘breakfast to go’ until we were getting in our taxi to leave and then it was too late. Otherwise superb
