I love the fact that the room was clean and well-equipped. The staffs are helpful and english-speaking. They also prepare simple breakfast, coffee, drinking water.

The location is indeed very close to subway station, yet it’s located in a narrow alley, so you need to drag your luggage all the way to their door. Not far, but dragging attention.

The space was a lot nicer than I expected and very clean! Staff were very nice, friendly, and ready to help! As a solo traveler, spatially, the room was comfortable for me to walk around as long as my luggage was closed and upright. I was quite lucky and was staying on the first floor so I did not have to encounter going up the stairs, but the stairs going downstairs to the cafeteria is a bit steep and there is no railing (something to keep in mind if you have difficulty with stairs). The power only turns on when the keycard is in the slot. If you plan on using the fridge or charge things, you will want to plan it around the time when you will be in the room. The outlets are a bit finicky when you use a bulky travel adapter and it doesn’t fit snug, but I as still able to somehow get it to work (just remember to look up what S. Korea outlet frames look like beforehand). Wifi in the room was good and I had no issues with it. The walls were not as thin as I expected and the only time I would hear the neighbouring room would be when someone suddenly shouts. I did hear the lobby music and walking outside through the room door, but it did not bother me at all. There are a lot of places to visit nearby and is easy to go to by walking. There is also a convenience store on the same alley and a subway station just a bit further down which makes going to and from quite easy. Getting to and from can the airport is also very convenient! The airport limousine bus (6002) drop off spot is just across the street and the pick up location is just a 5 minute walk away from this location. Included breakfast is always a plus! It is not super fancy, but if you are a light breakfast eater, this gets the job done. Otherwise, I had no issues during my stay!

Like the previous reviews said, there are a few stores on the alley is in is quite sketchy, but it is safe to walk down at night. Personally, it did not bother me much, but I know it can make some people uncomfortable.

Staff are very polite and accomodating. Very close to the subway and Gwangjang Market where you can enjoy street foods without going to Myeong-dong. The rooms and kitchen are very clean. Great value for money.

There is no lift/elevator. If you have a heavy lugagge and your assigned room is from level 2 to 4, then you will have to carry it while climbing the stairs.

The hostel is located in the center of Seoul. The price includes breakfast, easy but tasty and sufficient. The room is not big, but enough for rest, in the room, has a quiet refrigerator. Bed linen and towels are clean. On the A-floor has citchen with water boiler, cofemashine, cutlery, electric stove, and iron. The hostel within walking distance, there are several historical places: palaces and memorials. There is a market nearby, foodcourts, farmacies, and subway. Good price/quality ratio. Before the trip, I had some problems with the credit card. The hostels staff approved my payment in cash , for which a great respect, thank you very much! Staff is friendly and has enough loyalty. p.s. if you are looking for a comfortable and not expensive place for staying downtown, I recommend it!

A number with separate beds has only on a third floor, w/o elevator.

The staff were INCREDIBLE - so kind, eager to help, and even helped me carry my luggage up and down the stairs without me having to ask (no elevators). Our room keys unlocked the front door after office hours which gave me a lot of freedom with my travel. Hostel included towels, toilet paper, and slippers for in-room use. I enjoyed the option to have a solo room but still get the benefits of a hotel.

The location felt a bit unsafe at first, but I quickly learned that the area was safe enough even for a solo female traveler. The breakfast was not good in my opinion, but I could have inflated expectations in the frame of American continental breakfasts. There was a no elevator and a lot of stairs (which is pretty on par for Seoul), but just beware of this if you have accessibility needs. I have a mold allergy and my allergies always flared up when I was in my room, but I didn't see any mold on the surface - could have been something else.

The staff was lovely, friendly and helpful. The room was cozy and clean with everything you could need provided, and the location was amazing, two minutes from the metro station and a short walk from many popular tourist attractions. A great budget find.

The room was very hot, even when the heating was turned down all the way. One of the nights we stayed there it was -12 degrees Celsius, we left the window open all night and the room was still too hot! The beds were also hard but considering the price it was an amazing stay, great value.

Easy 10/10 To be honest, we are on the budget, and this was one of the cheapest places in the city centre. Room was great, heating, ac, warm water, fridge, free water refill (hot and cold), FREE BREAKFAST!!!! You can use communal kitchen all day, tea and coffee available, basic breakfast but it was a lovely surprise, staff was great, room and beds really comfy. Clean. Night market 3min walk, a lot of shops, metro station 2min, we walk almost everywhere. We loved everything, amazing value for money, and we really felt welcome there. You can leave your bags before and after check In/out free of charge

no elevator (good for reserve 1st floor or 2nd floor if you have heavy luggage or old people), no foot towel, no English language manual for using remote control for air conditioner (have only Korean word on remote), problem for air conditioner that be hot (but staff go to fix it immediately when I ask him, nice:D). Window curtain cannot block out the light that not be suitable if you want the room completely dark.

Absolutely love the location close to everywhere so my recommendation stay at jongno area means jongno 3, 5 dongdaemun station the best location to explore Seoul city. Many hostels , hotels and plenty places to eat, 2 min walking to gwangan market so incredible food over there and the best and traditional tasty. 100% recommended starhostel 🌟

Hostel is very close Jongno-5 subway station, it's near the major attractions (such as Myeongdong, Gyeongbokgung palace, etc), around hostel has many restaurants. Although the room are small but each room has private bathroom&toilet and has enough facilities (shampoo, shower cream, hair dryer, towel, small refrigerator, TV etc). The manager and staff are very nice, good response for answering and good advice for any problem and help. The free breakfast is a light breakfast (boiled egg, toast, cereal, milk), if you want heavy breakfast you can buy other food because there is a pantry for preparing and cooking by yourself. The Wi-Fi is fast.

Hostel is no elevator, if you have heavy luggage or have old people in your group, you should reserve room in first floor or second floor. The bathroom is small so it has no bathroom curtain that is OK for me, but it will be better if it has the foot towel for cleaning wet floor after using bathroom (the room has no foot towel). The room is small, so the luggage not over 26in is suitable when it open in front of the bed that have small space.
