Decent room, outdoor space where you could sit in the day and at night. They gave a small breakfast in the morning. You could also buy some drinks or ramyeon there. A few restaurants on walking distance. Parking lot. Friendly owners. You could ask for extra towels if you stayed longer. You could also do your laundry there and pay for it. Not so far with the car from seoraksan
No elevator, but they wanted to help with the luggage. I would suggest having a car

This hotel is indeed a little of the beaten track, but there is a busstop 1 street down, and the busses into Sokcho go regularly. It is also only 15 min by bus to the start of all the trails in Soeraksan, and the 7eleven is open 24/7. The ambience of the hotel is amazing, and a lot of that has to do with the lovely hostess. She is very sweet at recommended places to eat in Sokcho when we just arrived. On a sunny day, you can eat breakfast outside near the stream or just relax there after a long hike. I also recommend trying the ramen cooker they have.

Lovely characteristic guesthouse. Spacious rooms, a nice porch overlooking the river, and everything you need. The host/manager was super welcoming and helpful, giving us a ride to the park and the bus station! The location is convenient for Seoraksan National Park and for Sokcho beaches. Frequent buses run to both. The village Seoraksan-Dong itself has a few convenience stores and simple traditional Korean restaurants, with good food. Mon-Thursday it's extremely quiet.

The owner of Smile Resort is so friendly and helpful. The hotel is located right next to the bus stops for bus 7, which reaches the national park entrance in five minutes and Sokcho in 20-30 minutes. It is also near to a couple of shops and restaurants, although they have varied opening times. There is a shared kitchen and free breakfast at the hotel.
The only small thing is that there is no housekeeping so our bins/beds weren’t made or emptied during the stay.

Perfectly located as base for exploring Seoraksan national park, surrounding area was a little bit quiet as written by other traveller, but it was totally safe and convenient. Reason behind lots of surrounding hotek closed was due to accident MV Sewol in 2014, where school students on field trip were lost thus Seoraksan as the no 1 destination for school fieldtrip took the biggest impact after no more school fieldtrip are allowed anymore. Facilities are not newest, but well maintained, clean, convenient and the best was the kind friendly owner, Mrs. Kim, despite language barrier tried her best to exchange, felt warm welcomed. Highly recommended!
Nothing, it ticks all my check list for travel accomodation in mountains in Korea👍

The hostess is exceptionally accommodating. The city experienced a district-wide hot water issue and she offered me a ride to the hot spring nearby as her guest. It was not her fault and there's nothing she could do but she wanted to make sure her guests are comfortable. Breakfast usually starts at 8am but because I had an early bus to catch, she set up everything 45 minutes earlier for which I very much appreciate. When I return, I will definitely stay at Smile Resort again. As far as the bed is concerned all beds in Korea are very firm.

The accommodation has a character of the mountain chalet. It is a place with heart and soul + all the facilities needed as described. The host and their family made our stay really enjoyable and comfortable. Big thanks for helping us to book ferry tickets for the next leg of our journey to Ulleungdo. Beautiful location with the stream behind and a room with a view. We easily got to the Sereoksan National Park by bus. *Polish milk at breakfast :)

We had a wonderful four night's stay at this cosy and friendly Hotel. The little village where this place is located may be a little run down, the Smile Hotel shows no sign of this. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, we had a view over the mountains and the little stream that runs directly at the back of the Hotel. The owners of this place, wife and husband, you can surely look forward to meeting them.

We got a room on the 3rd floor, not so big but enough for me and my sister. The bed was comfy, the bathroom also clean with water heater available. The owner was friendly and can speak a lil bit English. In the backyard there is a river and they put nice swing and the environment is so quiet, make us felt very peaceful.
We brought a big luggage and so heavy to drag it to 3rd floor 🤣😅

The hotel/guesthouse is located within a 2 minute walk from the busstop and about a 45 minute walk/ 12 minute bus ride from the Seoraksan National Park. The breakfast is good, they offer toast, jam, eggs, fresh cherry tomatoes, cereals, coffee, tea, milk etc. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The entrance hall is cozy and gives a nice athmosphere. The bathroom seemed to be newly renovated and the beds were comfortable. There's water boilers and dispensers outside the rooms in the hallway. And also a kitchen downstairs that you can use.
It's a great place to stay, no real improvements from my side.
