Fantastic breakfast. Dinner in the restaurant is very good, much better than many others we've had in Spain. The interior decor is lovely and in keeping with the building, our bedroom was large with a nice en suite and view of the garden. There is secure parking at the back of the hotel. Perfectly situated in a small village in the heart of Rioja. The owner is very helpful and speaks good English. We love this hotel and have been back several times.

It's a shame that the restaurant and bar are closed on Wednesdays, although breakfast is still served and the owner provides a printed sheet of other options but does mean a trip out in a car.

Beautiful little town in the wine region. Wonderful view of the mountains out the window. Lovely terrace and garden at the back. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a local feel and great food (dinner and breakfast). Room was lovely with all amenities and a lovely bathroom. An old fashioned laid back feel throughout. We loved our stay there.

Nicely done up old villa in the middle of Ábalos, a small town in the north of La Rioja. Decent size room, with a good but basic bathroom. Staff are very friendly. The included breakfast was very good and more than enough. At the entrance is a small bar (one of the very few in town) where they serve good Rioja wines and 'raciones' to share. We did not eat in the restaurant. The owner has an EV charger in the parking lot, which he let's you use at his private rate, which is a good deal. Parking is free for guests.

Unfortunately the room only had a fan, and no air conditioning. On hot summer days this would be a concern to me.

This is a beautiful property . The stair rail which is sculpted in metal could be in a modern art museum. The food, especially the breakfast is excellent. All is well and yet not quite right. I would stay here again I think.

it may be me but I felt that the main contact at this property could be a bit friendlier. Not sure he is cut out for dealing with guests. Having said that the kitchen staff are ‘suffering I guess’ with a sort of misanthropic overseer. you cannot doubt the quality of much that is here that is spoilt a little with the attitude of the man who runs the place. It may be ‘language’ but I think the main man despises the guests. This is at the beginning of the season..

The food is exceptionally delicious and well prepared. Peaceful place to sleep. Wines in hand are select. Price is fair.

The reception from staff is not warm, however, my Spanish skills are not the best. I try my best and hope for the best in return.

Hotel located in a pretty, rustic, quiet historic village surrounded by wineries. Lots of nice walks from village up into the hills. Quiet, comfortable rooms; very clean. Excellent restaurant. Wife of proprietor is cook. Food and wine very good value. Good wine list majoring on wines from village. Friendly staff. Easy parking at rear; garden patio

A very small point: the WiFi in the room was intermittent. Otherwise absolutely no complaints!

Nice old building. Vineyards and other old towns worth a visit all nearby. Food was very good, incl. dinner. Private parking. Very good value for money. On Friday, from late afternoon onwards, many locals gathered in the small hotel bar for a drink and tapas. Even though we don't speak spanish, it was fun hanging out there and drink a whine. Total foreigners to us, they were quick to share their tapas with us. Really nice.

We loved our stay. The breakfast was wonderful and the dinners in house were fantastic. The atmosphere was great, food great, location remote but expected. Close to all winery areas.

We loved it here. I believe this was once a 16th century residence. The room was amazing. Plenty of room. The views from the windows just beautiful. We stayed 2 nights during our 3-week visit to Spain. Location is absolutely perfect for touring bodegas in La Rioja region. Their breakfast was perfect. We did have dinner one evening - excellent. We had a car and was able to park on site. All compliments. We highly recommend and will stay again if we ever return to this area of Spain.

The hotel is very well kept and is located in the cute village of Abalos. The breakfast was very nice. We also had a good dinner.

The village isn’t very animated at night. The only available restaurant is the one of the hotel. Otherwise you need to drive to another nearby village.
