We booked this at the last minute, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. The city is magnificent, and the hotel, nestled within the city walls, is truly beautiful. The reception area is impressive, and the rooms are very nice, exuding a traditional and rustic charm. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. When we had a big puncture in our car, they promptly assisted us in finding a garage to get a new tyre. We also turned up for breakfast without a reservation, and it was no problem. While breakfast might not be the Ritz, for €6 per person, it is certainly a bargain. I should have taken pictures before starting to unpack.

All better than expected.

Exquisitely furnished throughout with exposed brick walls, wooden furniture and beams. There was an old well and a stone bench in the breakfast room. Fascinating place with many interesting details. Bedroom was very spacious with an adjoining bedroom for our daughter. Tastefully updated to include subtle lighting, modern plumbing and air conditioning. Central location. Staff, especially Antony, helpful and pleasant. Felt very privileged to have been able to stay here, couldn’t believe how reasonably priced it was.

Wi-Fi was only available in the lobby. There was no lift. Reception closed at 10.30 pm. There was a code to enter and a phone number for emergencies.

Comfort in a noble mansion, the hotel is in heart of walled city. Great historic atmosphere of renaissance. Rooms are spacious & well furnished. Lovely warmth on a wet weekend. Great self serve continental breakfast for 5/6€. Lovely balcony view of church from our room.

All good, demand led pricing fluctuates widely. Pick an off peak night, as Avila popular weekends.

The hotel location is incredible, very close to the old city center. The hotel is nice, the building is definitely a piece of architecture. The breakfast was ok, not fancy but ok. The room was nice and clean, maybe a bit small, but fine. There are 2 restaurants right in front on the hotel which are good options for lunch and dinner. There are some brochures in the hotel lobby that give a 20% discount in Restaurante de Cine (which is very recommendable). All in all the hotel it's nice, its' big advantage is by far the location and I would recommend it for a 1 or few nights-stay.

The noise could be heard from one room to the other (and we had quite some noisy neighbors) plus the beds were too close to the walls hence producing quite some noise too.

The staff speaks English (finally somebody), despite late hour of our arrival they were kind. Organization of accommodation was perfect - we did online check-in and received code to our room. Bed comfortable, bathroom great, everything clean a now-looking. Hotel like middle-age palace style, surrounded by city walls in Avila. Parking is not so easy in close surrounding, but in walking distance (10 min) we found some public parking.

May be breakfast organization was might be better. And sounds (opening doors and bathroom sounds) of our neighbors were surprisingly loud.

Breakfast - good !with bread, cheese, ham , cereal, juice . We would have liked fruit on offer too but a reasonable choice . Location - inside the city walls. A convenient part of the city as it is a few hundred metres from the main attractions… cathedral , plazas , monasteries and city walls. Plenty of bars, restaurants though in March not all open in the evening. 18 min walk to the train station and 1.5 hours to Madrid . Bags stored for the day which is helpful and a very interesting city to visit.

The Wi-Fi is poor to non existent in the rooms on our second floor. (Perhaps this could be improved with a mesh link) Reception informed us that the ground floor is the only place with reasonable Wi-Fi. 3G in the city was mostly available but not 4g. Beds - on the firm side . No kettle in the room and no tea/coffee available in the hotel during the day/evening at this time of year (March) bar/cafe area closed off.

The breakfast was fantastic. Bread, croissants cereal, orange juice, coffee, ham, cheese all included. The table was ready for us at the time we signed up for. The rooms were large. The whole building was very charming, had great character. The mini fridge was very useful to have, and the fan units did a great job cooling down the room despite the heat. I almost needed an extra blanket!

There is no elevator, but we were on the 3rd floor and the walk up was fine. The only downside would be if you bring a lot of luggage.

The receptionist was very very kind! The house and the rooms are antiques, with a lot of charm. The position of the hotel is inside the antique wall, so it is perfect to walk around.

I didn't have breakfast at the hotel. It was, surprisingly, very poor. Probably for the low season, but it was the only negative aspect. The parking is outside the antique wall. Well, there is no elevator. Not a problem for me, just to say.

In the old town so near to everything one needs to see I'm Segovia. Staff checked in earlier than indicated as the room was already available. Nearby street parking seems always full. But free and huge parking 10-15 minutes walk away.

The drive to the hotel through the old town goes to narrow streets, including getting out through a very narrow town gate. Those coming with big cars have to be careful.

Central location, clean and comfortable beds. One night stay, have stayed a night previously en route to Madrid and happy to return again. Lots of character and located in old part of Avila. Easy to find street parking.

Room was quite warm, no aircon but there were fans. If you have heavy bags there is no lift, not an issue for us but might be for others.
