This hotel is the perfect 'no frills' way to stay in Barcelona. Don't stay if you are expecting all the amenities of a five star hotel. Do stay, however, if you want a comfortable and well-located place to rest, with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms, which seem to be recently renovated, are clean and smart and hotel has a quiet location in a side street close to metro stations that deliver you directly to key tourist attractions such as Sagrada Familia and the Passeig de Gràcia shopping district. It is a short walk to the many interesting cafes, bars, shops and markets within the El Raval and Gothic quarters on either side of Las Ramblas and attractions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art. El Raval is less touristy than Gothic and feels like a more authentic neighbourhood.

A bottle of sparkling wine on arrival was a nice, but odd and unnecessary touch. Providing water in rooms (in a sustainable way) would be better. On sustainability, providing plastic cups contained in plastic wrapping is not acceptable now. Providing an electric kettle in each room to prepare hot drinks and mugs and glasses would be an improvement.

Location was very central, super close to Place de Catalunya which was brilliant! It was off the main strip so was quiet at night when you wanted to sleep.

Nothing really.

The room was specious considering we were in the centre of Barcelona and in a very reasonably priced hotel. Hanging space for clothes and storage under the dressing table for suitcases. The bath/shower was in the room and the wash basin next to the bath was easily accessed with space for our wash kits. The toilet was separate and still spacious with the door closed. The location was just a little tricky to find due to the road works near by the hotel staff were very helpful in giving directions to the underground parking which is right under the hotel and very secure - the rate was very reasonable and less than half of what it could cost in the nearby general parking. The bedroom was quiet when the windows were closed and even though the hotel is on a route to the main restaurant/shopping area we were not disturbed. The picture with this post is the venue for the best coffee and pastries in Barcelona - what a find and not too far from the hotel in Urquinaona - Pa, cafe i molt mes!

Possibly the one thing that could be better explained when booking, is how to get to the underground parking - even though it is under the hotel it is not obvious to the tourist who had not driven in Barcelona before.

Newly remodeled, very nice rooms, comfortable king size bed (unusual bed size in Europe). Hotel is very well located, has nearby restaurants and within walking distance to Plaza Catalunya for bus tours of the city. The staff were lovely and helpful.

The street itself that the property faces onto is a narrow alley but right around the corner you come out to a nice wide street in the lovely Eixample district. I also did not like that the bathtub or shower is out in the open in front of the bed, though I’m sure younger clients would enjoy this. The toilet stall has a sliding door that does nothing for soundproofing.

Staff was brilliant, room very clean and very very central location. The shower was really good and the bathroom huge! We also got a very quiet room which was appreciated.

Very basic facilities so good if you're staying just for a few days - a mini fridge would be nice! The worst was definitely the street where the door is located, it always smelled bad and looked a bit dodgy,which is a shame because the hotel itself is really good!

Beautiful clean hotel, staff were super friendly and helpful showing us where to find main attractions. We had a room upgrade which was great. Room was big and clean and the bathroom was really nice and modern. Location was great and nice and quiet but not too far from the main hustle and bustle of the markets/shops.

A smart TV would have been good for those who don’t speak Spanish. Otherwise can’t really fault our stay it was wonderful.

The room was great, exactly what the photos showed. It smelled lovely, super clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and polite.

It’s located on a narrow street a few meters from a main avenue so you need to be very aware of your surroundings, specially at night, when coming in and out of the hotel.

Very spacious, lovely decor, great water pressure, comfortable beds and very quiet. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Air conditioner was a little noisy. We didn't mind the shower being open to the rest of the room, but just something to note if privacy is important to others.

The room was cute and the tub with jets was super nice! The air conditioning worked well and the staff were all very friendly. Basic toiletries were included as well which was nice

We expected the room to be slightly bigger than it actually was, but that was it.

The hotel was really nice and the room although small was very comfortable and clean. Only stayed one night (on our way home after 4 weeks away) so was hard to judge the neighbourhood but felt it was a little grungy. Super comfortable bed and bedding.

No screen on the shower which means water goes everywhere but this is a minor issue compared to everything else.
