Great location close to Gran Via station. The facilities were good and clean, the breakfast was pretty good and the check in and out experience was seamless. We liked everything about our stay here except the one negative point I've noted in this review.

The street amenity. With public toilets in Madrid in short supply, the street this hotel is located in is unfortunately the favourite dumping ground - literally - for many of the city's homeless. While this is not the fault of the Walt, it does put a damper on things when you're gagging on the smell on the way out and in of the hotel every day. I'm sure other hotels in other streets have similar issues, and it's unavoidable when the city council doesn't provide public toilets.

Great location very close to Gran Via and Sol, service was outstanding (even allowed us to check-in in the morning), the room is quiet and comfortable, and the hotel is located in a quiet street a few steps away from Gran Via. The room was equipped with a minibar.Luggage deposit on the day of departure

I would recommend having breakfast outside of the hotel.

The road it is down is not very pleasant was bins just near hotel and rubbish and broken glass all round bin took a couple of days before the glass cleared up. No English channels on Tv

Only one person trying to do everything at breakfast. When all the tables were full, the girl was trying to clear up, re-set tables and keep the breakfast supplies topped up. Could have done with some help here,

I highly recommend! The location is just perfect and very convenient. My room was spacious, clean and thoughtfully decorated. The hotel itself is beautifully designed. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I litterally slept like a baby!! The staff were exceptional, always friendly and very helpful. They gave me very good recommendations for local dining. To be short, if you look for a hotel in Madrid, look no further than Hotel du Temps!!

We were very lucky to be upgraded to a junior suite and we loved the room, it was very spacious and had a separate seating area and kitchenette. It was like having a little home for our stay in Madrid. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially when we learned that due to the Tour de Espana, the roads surrounding the hotel would be closed and that no taxis would be operating in the center of Madrid. Unfortunately, this was the day we were leaving, and needed to catch a train to our next destination. The Receptionist bent over backward to find an alternative arrangement for us. But nothing she tried would work. The breakfast was typically continental with a choice of different breads, cereals, dried fruits, jams, hot options, and cold meats. Located very close to the Gran Via so great for shopping and sightseeing.

Would have liked more fresh fruit options included with the breakfast. The hotel is located on a side street off the Gran Via, which, while very convenient for exploring the shopping district and sightseeing, unfortunately, had some big smelly bins not far from the hotel entrance. This made going to and fro from the hotel not the most pleasant experience. Luckily the bins did get emptied and the area was cleaned after the first day of our stay which made a difference.

We arrived at the Walt at 10 a.m. and planned to drop our luggage until check-in time. My partner had broken his arm just a week before we departed for our trip and he was very tired from the flight. The kind receptionist gave us an available room immediately, for which we were immensely grateful. We loved the Walt's funky decor and fabulous location.

The room was large and the bed comfortable. It seemed that the shower door did not close properly (combined with operator error) and I was horrified to see that the room had flooded with water after my shower at about 9:00 p.m. We cleaned it up the best we could and called the receptionist (night manager?) who came up promptly. We asked for a mop to clean up the remaining water and dry towels. She said she would bring them but we didn't receive them and no help was offered to dry the floors.

Location is excellent. 30 second walk on to Gran Via but quiet enough that you don't feel like you are staying near the noise. We arrived quite early in the day and the hotel was able to accommodate an early check in which was appreciated. I had mentioned we were there for my partners 40th birthday and they upgraded our room free of charge. From our arrival to departure, the staff were friendly and welcoming. A really lovely little hotel and I would definitely stay again.

My only criticism was the heat in the room. I personally like the ability to have a cold room, however my partner didn't share my feelings so I can't really fault the hotel.

This hotel is simple and fun. Clean and comfortable with easy access to shopping, attractions and great places to eat. We met Pam, the owner, upon check-in and she is a delight! The staff is attentive and will help you with whatever questions you have about the hotel or neighbourhood. I appreciate a great shower and ours did not disappoint.

Our room was a little on the small side for two 6 feet + men but I believe we were in the only room with an outdoor terrace with seating. It was good to have that additional space.
