Fantastic location, train literally from the airport to the door of the hotel. Loved the rooftop pool and bar, cocktails were good. Slide is cool! Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

The poolbar was closed on the Tuesday of our stay which meant having to go down 8 floors to the bar for a drink and we couldn't order food on the rooftop either. The bar staff weren't friendly at all. Also we were literally followed into breakfast by the man in charge of breakfast asking us to pay with the credit card machine in his hand - we were still putting food onto our plates!

Breakfast variety and quality is amazing, rooms were spotless, very quiet, beds comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep, the roof top bar is brilliant, such a lovely atmosphere and space, and the bar staff there very friendly and attentive. The location is perfect, especially for transit to the airport and near the old town and plenty of great places to eat. The gym is a cool spot too, and slide down to the bar is super cool!

There was a very rude member of reception staff who soured our check in experience, he was really disrespectful and treated us like we had made a mistake when we hadn’t. We avoided him for the rest of our stay.

Breakfast is absolutely amazing, a must have, never had anything so good. Roof terrace is superb.

Chair inside the room is useless, TV had no English channels whatsoever, nothing to watch all week. Needs to have a firestick with allowance of Netflix apps, this was the biggest disappointment especially when there for 5 nights. Management would not fix and choose to ignore, not good for English travellers. Coffee machine did not work at all, safe was broke. Need to ensure all parts of the room work well. Stylish on surface but poor underneath in places.

The hotel is ideally positioned right next to the train station but still within walking distance to the port, the city centre and main attractions. The rooftop pool and solarium were an added reason why we booked and it was lovely. Special thanks to the Hotel Experience Manager for acknowledging our special occasion. Great customer service!

We specifically picked this hotel for its proximity to the train station and for the rooftop pool. Our intention was to spend as much time exploring the city as possible so our room was very much just a place to sleep. The room was adequate for three (two adults and my teenage daughter) but a little small. Not a problem for us given how little time we spent in it.

The hotel is very convenient for the train station and Metro, which also connects to the airport. It is also not far to walk from central Malaga, to the different beaches or the multitude of restaurants in the city. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The novelty of the slide from the first to the ground floor was also appreciated by our young daughter. The hotel also provides cold water in reception which is good on returning from out on a hot day.

We had become a bit more used to bigger rooms at our three previous hotels so our room at this hotel felt a bit small, same with the bathroom.

Couldn't fault this hotel at all. Train took us from airport right to the hotel. Breakfast was fab, room was fab, staff were friendly and added bonus was the indoor slide from the restaurant down to reception. Also very modern decor. Already thinking about booking for next year.

Only thing might be the swimming pool isn't that big if you were staying in summer but we were staying in December for the marathon so the swimming pool wasn't an issue.

This is the second time I have stayed at Barcelo Malaga. The hotel is modern, clean and the staff are helpful. We booked the superior room and it was spotless. The pool is a great addition especially in the middle of summer. We didn’t have the breakfast buffet but ate at the pool. It’s not the cheapest but the cocktails are fab. The hotel is around a 25 minute walk from the very centre of Malaga but having the supermarket next door is great. We chose to walk in most evenings and get a taxi back which was never more than €7. All round great value and no complaints.

The common areas could use some maintenance but this is a very minor criticism.

Modern, good sized rooms. Plenty choice for breakfast. Location very good to use public transport to airport or visiting different places but it’s a bit of a walk into town. We just jumped on bus from outside hotel. Train and bus links to everywhere. Also if booking trips through get your guide the pick up location was often outside the hotel.

Our air conditioning unit was leaking in room so had a drip when on through night! We reported in when checking out but should have reported sooner. The constant drip was very annoying!

Very comfortable hotel, located next to Malaga's main station. This makes it very convenient if you're arriving/leaving by train. The room was very comfortable and a good size. Beds were comfortable. There was a very nice breakfast buffet in the morning with both hot and cold foods and lots of different choices. We ate in the restaurant as well in the evening and the food was nice as well. I didn't use the pool or visited the rooftop.

Everything was good. The only thing I did not see was a lobby area to sit and read. This just seems to be part of the bar which is fine but not a good area for working/reading. I was only there for one night so that was fine but for a longer stay that's something I always look for. It's a very nice and comfortable hotel.

This was our second visit to the Barcelo Malaga as we went in 2023 and wanted to go back and explore other Spanish coastal resorts. We had a room with twin beds, which were comfortable and quite spacious. Our stay included breakfast - a large selection of hot and cold food plus a cooking station, which we greatly enjoyed including the morning glass of Cava fizz. The location is about a 2 minute walk from the train station, which is just a few stops from Malaga airport, so very easy to get to. It was also very easy to get to other resorts by train. Our trip was during the last week of February and the weather was great - quite warm during the day and ideal for travelling around. We also spent 2 afternoons on the rooftop terrace soaking up the sun. We did not know that 28th February was a public holiday, but it didn't inconvenience us too much as just the large shops and supermarkets were closed, but not the bars and restaurants.

A glass of fizz (Cava) offered upon check-in would have made a nice start to our holiday, although there was water available.
