The views from our room, the Albacara Restaurant and the breakfast room, of the gorge, Puente Nuevo and countryside were exceptional. We had a great dinner at the Albacara, made better by great wait staff. The position in the old town made it easier to access the sites we wanted to visit. These aspects made it worth a splurge.

Because the building is so old some of the usual facilities weren't available - no mini fridge or microwave for example, I guess most of the clientele at a 4 star hotel just eat out or at the restaurant. The bathroom layout was awkward but functional. The bed was pretty good but could have been better.

Location right next to the New Bridge, spectacular view from our room and the breakfast area. Older hotel vibe that is just enough to be charming. Bottles of water supplied, and the reception staff were very friendly. The room was clean and breakfast buffet was great. There was a massive storm with strong winds and rain while we were there so couldn’t go to the restaurant upstairs but the terrace looked a lovely place to be in good weather.

Only minor things… Room was small and the shower head kept falling off its holder once the water was turned off. No face cloths/washers were provided. A bit difficult to navigate the narrow streets when driving, but that is to be expected in the old town. None of these were major issues - we were comfortable at the hotel and enjoyed our stay

The Montelirio Hotel is perfectly situated in the city center of Ronda. One can easily and quickly walk to most of the attractions and the main shopping/dining areas in town. The heated towel racks and heated floors in the bathroom were a nice addition. We drove to Ronda and the hotel was very helpful on parking our car and having it available when needed.

Lighting in the bathroom could be brighter; it was hard to see when shaving.

The hotel is in the most wonderful location, just off the main road, so perfect to exploring, and the views, wow! just amazing, the bridge to one side and then a birds view of the countryside and mountains to the other, just incredible. The welcoming from Lola at reception was welcomed, and what can I say of the room, again, just perfect, the bed is one of the most comfortable ive had in a hotel, (and I have travelled) we stayed in room 103. We will def be back. Also must say the breakfast was very good, large selection and very good quality. It was my partners birthday, and they came out with a nice little cake , lovely touch.

The location is perfect, hotel was very clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

The only thing that let it down slightly was the breakfast buffet was very basic and they need more than one member of staff there. The toaster was switched off, there were hardly any tea bags, only one croissant and you have to ask for water/juices which we didn't get ours until we were ready to leave and had asked for them a second time due to there only being one staff member.

The incredible view of the gorge, bridge, and valley were the reason that we chose to stay here, and it was amazing to look out at them from our room. We love historic hotels, and they manage to make it feel modern but still have all of the character of the old architecture and with antiques in our room. Everything was first rate

We were happily surprised that the pool was still open to use, but the water was frigid!

The location is right by the famous bridge which is nice. Parking is in a lot off site. You have to walk to your car, maybe a few blocks. You're able to temporarily park near the hotel to drop off the luggage, which is essential. The room was pretty, decorated with unique items, not too large but adequate. It was dark, however, because the window was low and small. Their restaurant perches on the cliff overlooking the valley and the bridge. I wasn't impressed by the food but it was a great place to dine for a view. While others were served olives, bread, etc. after arriving much later than us, we sat there waiting for service. We had to ask for food these things and to order, not good. This continued throughout the meal. There are other restaurants that have great views so I suggest looking around. The staff from the hotel were very nice. The lobby area is beautiful but there really isn't a sitting area, unless you include the area in the restaurant?

Breakfast, it is very sterile for this quality of venue a more serviced led approach should be the minimum. Serve teas and coffees - the personal touch Don't have your cereals in small boxes use glass storage to present the choices - boxes look really cheap and a lazy option .

Beautiful hotel in the old town of Ronda. This hotel has an exquisite view of the mountains, bridge and valley from the outdoor balcony off the restaurant. Highly recommend this hotel to those travelling to the area. Although be prepared for some driving on very narrow roads (more like alley ways) and the fact that parking is several minutes away off the square in the old town. The hotel receptionist was very helpful in navigating the parking situation.

Parking scenario

Fabulous location on a tiny cobbled street just yards from the famous bridge. Friendly and efficient check in. Characterful building offering stunning views. Large, comfortable room with tea and coffee making facilities. Excellent breakfast. Definitely want to return for longer visit and to eat at the restaurant, which was closed for the winter season.

Slightly unnerving having to negotiate very narrow street when arriving by car - but hotel staff dealt with parking in nearby private garage.
