Location great for getting to ferry ports, staff extremely friendly, professional and efficient. Dinner good, three courses and a drink (wine, etc.) plus water and bread for 14 euros, breakfast: Toast, butter and jam plus coffee for 3.50 euros (4.50 if freshly squeezed orange juice included). Toiletries included in the spacious bathroom with large walk-in shower and fresh white towels, TV in room and lots of storage space. Free off-road parking just outside.

Nothing to dislike.

Friendly owner and staff, historic building family owned for many years and now converted and upgraded to a modern hostal. Evening meal and breakfast were good and value for money, evening meal (3 courses) 12:50 euros including small carafe of wine or other drink, water and bread also included; breakfast: toast, butter, preserve, freshly squeezed orange juice and tea/coffee 4:50 euros. Food basic Spanish fare and very tasty. Rooms clean and spacious, with comfortable bed, wardrobe space and large clean bathroom with plenty of towels - walk in shower, with shower gel. Very convenient for travelling to the ferry ports.

Nothing, all good.

Beautiful renovation of an old Spanish Home (the owners grandmother’s). Wonderful setting on the CAMINO DE SANTIAGO route. Many backpackers. Has dormitory facilities along with private rooms. Bar and Cafe. The Menu del Dia was outstanding as was the house red wine included. Great location for over night stay on route to Santander

For us sadly too many steps. Nothing the owner can avoid, there is a ramp between terrace and bar/ cafe. But no step free access to any rooms.

The property was lovely and clean and on the Camiño. We found it a little tricky communicating as we have limited English, so we ended up going for evening meal up the road on the left. We had a pilgrims meal which was lovely. We were able to soak our feet in the river and the gentleman there were very accommodating and helpful, also able to speak English and a reiki healer which was very interesting. We had a perfect night sleep as the accommodation was peaceful.

Great place to stay as a stopover. Relatively close to main road routes but in a village setting. Rooms were quiet and comfortable with breakfast and dinner options available. Breakfast was basic but decent value and dinner was also good and excellent value.

A little more choice for breakfast than coffee, croissant or pains au chocolat and optional orange juice would be better, thought the quality of the food available was good.

Location great for travelling to the ferry ports. We have used this accommodation on a number of occasions and it has always been excellent. The owner always remembers us and makes us very welcome. It is a family owned and run hostal which has been in the family for many. many years and is now updated with very modern rooms and facilities. The evening meal and breakfast were very good and reasonably priced. Would not hesitate to recommend this hostal and we will be returning soon when we are next travelling to the Santander Ferry Port.

Nothing to dislike, all very good.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean The food for the evening meal was good. However, it was let down by breakfast facilities. Due to the lack of understanding by the staff, we ended up with toast and jam when we tried to order a full breakfast .

Great location when travelling to ferry ports and a lovely medieval town. The hotel has been converted and most of the original features are still intact, e.g. the original timber beams above the window in our room. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, helpful and efficient, we were even remembered by the manager from our stay last year and welcomed back. The evening meal is very good quality and value and the breakfast is also good, 4.50 euros each for toast, with butter and jam plus coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. We will be back and recommend anyone who enjoys unique hotels with warm, welcoming staff to visit the hotel. The Wi-Fi is free and excellent, we could even stream live shows on our laptop, there is also a TV in the room.

There is nothing to dislike about this hotel.

A lovely Hostal, but more like an hotel with some 'dormitory places' downstairs. We were in the guest bedrooms which were spacious, very clean, comfortable bed, excellent Wi-Fi reception and clean, modern bathroom with excellent walk-in shower, cabinets and storage places. The room had spacious wardrobes, bedside tables and heating (in winter/aircon in summer). Free parking outside the hotel. The hotel has kept the original medieval features inside, the restaurant and bar are good, with outside seating/tables. Staff are very helpful, friendly and efficient and speak some English. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and very good value: 3 course dinner with a drink (we had the red wine which came in individual small glass flasks - around 2 glasses each) for 11:50 euros, breakfast for 4:50 euros: orange juice, toast, coffee - excellent quality and quantity. Great location if you are doing the Camino de Santiago or, in our case, overnight stay on our way to the ferry port. Second time we have stayed here, once in summer and last visit end October, and we will be returning.

Nothing to dislike. Great Hostal which is more like an hotel.
