Very good location, clean, tasty food, staff are welcoming. Hotel staff are very helpful, especially Dinesh from housekeeping ensured rooms are clean and well stocked each day. Also, the restaurant chef and staff made sure we were fed, and the food was delicious. Would recommend this hotel and would stay here again. Very relaxing. Spa access was a bonus. Guests have the option to use the sister hotel next door, which is another plus sign for Avani.

Avani is a geat hotel. This is an observation to make the hotel even better. Hotel management should perhaps move/locate the Trishaw(tuk tuk) drivers outside of both the Hotels because having Trishaw Park inside the property driveways is obstructive, and the drivers can be intimidating for the guests. Guests should have the freedom to walk around and explore the property at their own pace. Hotel reception should call the Trishaw services when needed by the guests.

Amazing resort! One the best parts is the staff! They are very kind with always a smile! They have taken care of all our needs. We had a little issue in our room and they change to another one inmediately. We traveleed with a baby and all the staff was very kind with him. Rooms are very spacious and with all you need to feel like at home. We stayed with breakfast and dinner included, and buffet with very good! You can also go to the restaurants in the next Resort that are very good as well. Perfect destination to relax and enjoy with family!

All is ok in the resort, but maybe they need to renew the wood around the pool.

In few words - Exceptionally great in everything. The meal was plenty, with really good variety and delicious. Moreover, despite the bad weather, the staff cleaned the pool regularly. The service of the pool was great, friendly and offering everything whatever and whenever needed. Especially Mr. NISHANTA and Mr. CHANDIMA LAKMAL. Mr. SURANGA cleaned our room every day in a very nice way and every day pleased us with beautiful and romantic bedding designs. All the staff in the hotel was very kind and helpful.

just a minibar in the room was producing bit noisy buzzing. The beach was really nice but could be better if the hotel paid more attention to the cleanliness of the surroundings.

This is the second time we have stayed here as a family. We have an 8 month old and enjoy the relaxed feel, clean, spacious rooms and safety. There is easy access to the pool, several restaurants, the beach and stunning walks around the resort. We have enjoyed nightly sunsets on the beach. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and make you feel very welcome. We have extended our stay here because we have enjoyed it so much. The breakfast buffet is delightful with barista made coffee. Highly recommend to anyone travelling with an infant.

Our stay at Avani hotel was quite enjoyable. Impressed by the exceptional staff service and gym facilities. The food was really good and we appreciated the unlimited water access. Additionally, the spa service was great and of course the beautiful sunsets from the beach.

Initially, we had some issues with the room's air conditioning system not bringing the temperature below 25C. Despite changing rooms, the problem persisted to a certain extent. Additionally, the presence of a loud event with a DJ playing excessively loud music on the first day disrupted the tranquility of the stay. The mirror in our room literarily vibrated with the bass. The crows were a bit obnoxious during breakfast around the outdoor seating, perhaps the hotel could benefit from putting up some sort of divider wall to limit their access to our food.

All went very smoothly...not quite top notch 5 star..but a good 4... Surrounding area, very nice, with excellent beaches just a little further south, e.g. Bentota beach..Kalutara main town, not worth mentioning...apart from the main Buddhist dome. Hotel,very nice & good buffet food, both morning & evening...excellent pool too. One positive, was that we actually met a very honest auto-ric (tuc-tuc) driver called Sammigul, so he helped us prepare for our travels around, as we hired a car...but he also took us around some local addresses for me to meet up with my other colleagues..

Getting harassed by local businesses in the local town centre of Kalutara, repeatingly asking for your business..& then ripping you off!...& also by many other auto-ric(tuc-tuc) drivers, touting for business, on the local hotel beach & entrance to the hotel main road.

Check in was easy. Welcome was good. Rooms were clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast - good. Can rate 80/100. Dinner - good. Can rate 80/100. To enjoy all facilities leisurely, you need to stay at least 2 nights. Thanks to Kanishka at front Desk.

Not having an elevator was an issue for elderly and less able people. Pool - Open only from 7am - 7pm. Prefer If it was accessible for a longer time. Meat items available was only chicken, beef, fish. Prefer If there were more variety including Sea Food.

The hotel is very well managed and the staff are so friendly and helpful. They really made our stay more enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and well maintained (I'd recommend staying at the updated beach-facing rooms), the pool is large and with plenty of sunbeds. Good food options and diversity. The hotel also put on a nice cultural evening with Sri Lankan dancers and artists. Loved our stay and would recommend for a relaxing break.

Very relaxing place for mid-winter beach holiday. Staff were wonderful, always friendly and responsive to our requests. Kids Club was fabulous for our four grandkids (all under five years old). Breakfast buffet was great; best fish curry I had in the month I was in SL. We ate evening meals at the ala carte restaurants in the neighboring sister resort.

Expensive!

Amazing availability of the team to assist with checking-in at 5:00am. Direct connection to the beach and pool, building opened throughout allowing for interaction with nature and complete relaxation. Special attention of welcome sweets arranged for arrival. Large bedroom with ample storage, amenities, bathrobes and slippers.

Could do with a little more maintenance: door handle, TV fixings, multimedia connection a little left behind. Also some sand added a little grit feeling on the bathroom floor.
