The property itself is exactly as described. It is very beautifully decorated and designed, and everything is very thoughtfully laid out. The food is wonderful, and the service provided by all the staff was great. The massage that I had with my bestfriend was in this stunning area of the property, which overlooked the mountains and was such as a special experience.

As this is a spa hotel, the expectation is that all guests will have ample opportunity to receive a spa treatment. However we arrived to the hotel and was told that only 2/4 of us would have the chance to have a massage, which was disappointing given the effort we had taken to arrive at the property, and how the hotel is marketed on Booking.com. Given the cost of the property compared to other spa hotels, there is an expectation that enough staff are employed to accommodate all guests to get a treatment. If there is a limited amount of staff, then we should have been informed early on that we should be booking for treatments weeks in advance. Travelling to this hotel takes longer than expected, due to very windy, narrow bumpy roads. Plan accordingly

I honestly think it’s overpriced. You can tell the hotel now has a few years, the spa isn’t at the level it should be even though I can imagine how complicated it is to build one there, the yoga was honestly a bit weird as I’m practicing for 5-6 years now… a warm up and 6 Sun salutations then rest is not really interesting even if you’re a strong traditional yogi, and I was at the free class… private class is 90USD (can’t remember if it’s per person of not but.. wow…). Also, I paid 50% of the real fee which was around 270-280$ or a bit less. So in all honesty, it was worth this price but not 580$ per night. I always try to do honest reviews and all the prices were like top of the top so I adjust my level of judgment to « top of the top ».

The property is absolutely breathtaking, situated within the mountain ranges, and is the perfect setting for getting grounded, resetting and positioning yourself for tranquility and calmness. The property is simple in and of itself - one pool, single dining area for all meals, spa, yoga venue, but if you want to venture out, you can join the excursions both far and near the property. The staff was amazing - Sri Lankan hospitality is unparalleled; everyone we met was so friendly, warm, attentive and high-touch to our needs.

For those who are light sleepers, the loudness of the crickets may be quite disruptive but can also serve to be a differentiated white noise for you.

We loved it so much !! The hotel in real life is much better than pictures here in booking.com. 3 meals was absolutely amazing and super high standard, chefs were professional and smiley, the staff Viraj & Vipula at restaurants were all friendly makes you feel very special. We experience both garden view and Mountain View room, we loved both of them, garden view has outdoor washroom and shower area was a great experience. River walk was a great cardio, the guide was very informative, but remember to bring long pants as there are lots of worms during the walk. We did not experience the spa as we were on budget, but we tried the sauna and steam and relaxed there for 30 mins, it was really zen, we loved it so much and regretted that we did not try the spa.

Garden room we could hear the neighbor rooms talking, and it rained all night and monkeys are jumping on the roof, natural sound was very loud for us and we could not sleep well ( earbuds is provided by hotel but it did not work for me as I’m a light sleeper) We changed to Mountain View second day, it was more quiet and we slept very well. Maybe consider Mountain View if you have sleep problem like me.

The location right in the middle of the nature. The design of each room regarding its purpose. The early morning yoga and the breakfast room.

Very few gluten free options for a hotel who promotes wellness. There should be a policy of not being able to reserve sunbeds, once there are only 8 right next to the pool. Also, we asked for a lunch box, because we had to leave early. When we opened the lunch box, there was lunch for only one of us. In a 5 stars hotel, that’s the kind of thing it cannot happen.

Our stay was absolutely incredible. The setting in Sri Lanka’s lush “foliage” is breathtaking, and the way the architecture blends into the landscape is not only beautiful but simply genius. We felt an overwhelming sense of peace from the moment we arrived. The Ayurvedic treatments and wellness programs were life-changing, and the team are so positive and treated us with so much kindness and thoughtfulness. The food was beyond amazing—every meal was filled with such flavour. Santani gave us everything we needed to truly sought to reconnect and release going into the new year. It’s a place that feels magical, and we can’t wait to come back.

Food, views and outdoor pool are amazing. The evening and morning yoga with Soman were a real highlight for us. We were very lucky to have the hotel all to ourselves during our stay, so Soman was able to really personalise our session.

The Spa treatment are extremely overpriced for the experience you get and what you will get elsewhere in similar spas in SL. We opted for 90 minute treatments which didn’t last the full time which we realised afterwards. But the location and wildlife noises are very special. Also be aware that despite prices for the spa being in usd, we got an invoice in rupees with an unfavourable exchange rate meaning the treatments costs us more.

The hotel is stunning, nestled in the wilderness, and serene. With no TV and limited Wi-Fi only available in the rooms, it truly allows guests to disconnect. The food is amazing, meticulously presented, and bursting with flavor. The Sous chef goes above and beyond by sharing all meal plans in advance and adapting them to our tastes and requirements, offering a truly Michelin-worthy cuisine. While the rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, the wooden slats permit sound from cicadas, crickets, and other animals at night, potentially disrupting sleep for even those who aren't sensitive sleepers. Additionally, noise from neighboring rooms can be audible. Additionally, waking up with the sunrise did not bother me, but it's worth mentioning.

The access road to the hotel is rough and time-consuming to navigate. Guests should not expect well-maintained paths, as the hotel is situated in the mountains and the paths are quite rugged. A suggestion would be to use signage to indicate the location of amenities such as the spa and pool. The lack of a door for the WC, although not fully exposed, was uncomfortable for me.
