We stayed at the Golden Crown for 18 days. We chose this hotel as a base to explore the sights around Kandy. The hotel is a 30 minutes walk from the center of Kandy and Kandy Lake. The view from the room is very pretty, with hills covered by lush topical vegetation. The hotel is spacious and comfortable with an infinity pool and a well-equipped gym. The restaurant is spacious and beautiful, and it provides with a buffet breakfast as well as a buffet dinner. Food is great and varied, with a wide a selection of Sri Lankan, Indian and international food. In view of the length of our stay, we benefitted from an upgrade to a bigger room. The room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony The cleaning team was very good, and the best we have experienced in our stays in different hotels in South East Asia. Our stay at the Golden Crowne would not have been the same without Tharanga, from the hotel management, who was professional, attentive, and helpful. My wife was sick and he provided support and invaluable help, scheduling a visit to a local hospital to see a doctor and providing for a driver to take us there. He also advised and helped in organizing our visits to the most interesting sights around Kandy. Since we stayed in The Goden Crown hotel for so long, Elsworth, the General Manager, organised a beautiful and delicious farewell dinner for us on the hotel rooftop, where Ravi attended to our service. We highly recommend this hotel where we felt at home and well taken care of.

The Golden Crown hotel was absolutely stunning and honestly exceeded my expectations. It truly felt like a five-star experience. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the offerings at the hotel restaurant, where we had breakfast, but also decided to have two additional dinners — both of which were absolutely fantastic. On top of that, the hotel surprised me with a birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made my special day even more memorable. All in all, we were extremely satisfied with our stay. Thank you for making our experience so wonderful!

There is really nothing negative to say about The Golden Crown hotel — it is truly beautiful. However, I did notice that the staff felt a bit more distant and colder compared to the usual warmth experienced in Sri Lanka. I would have preferred a slightly warmer approach. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

Big shoutout to Taranga a manager, from reception. Your touch at the lobby adds a welcoming vibe to the whole experience. Thanks for making us feel like home away from home.

The location was nice with great views, the pool was mesmerizing, the staff were very nice, everything was clean! We had a taxi driver provided by the hotel drive ua around the different locations and attractions, for a very reasonable price, and he was very kind and knowledgeable!

The breakfast wasn’t varied as i would have liked, maybe less suited to western and middle easter pallets, heavily influenced by local cuisine (which is not really something to fault them for), and a stark lack of dairy products.

Superb room with great view of hills. Spacious and comfortable. Excellent food, very helpful staff, including management. Any issues were dealt with quickly.

We were tired after our journey and didn’t notice that our room overlooked the terrace. Everything alright until a noisy cricket club with a large capacity for alcohol checked in, disturbing our sleep until early hours. Staff were excellent and we changed rooms. We do appreciate that groups travel and also want to enjoy themselves in their own way and obviously hotels need revenue.

The staff were wonderful! They played a bit of cricket with my son as we waited to check in - the valet and concierge staff are exceptional! The food buffet was really good with so many options available. My kids enjoyed the pool and the games room. The rooms themselves was so spacious and very comfortable and clean. A very special thank you to Wasantha who drove us from th hotel to Nuwara Elliyah! He made that drive super memorable with his local knowledge! Arranging a vehicle with the hotel is good balaie and I highly recommend this if you looking for an experienced driver to take you to your next destination. Overall would definitely stay in this hotel again

The first night there was a wedding and the ballroom is above our room. We unfortunately could hear the dismantling after the wedding.

Stepping into the Golden Crown Hotel felt like entering a tropical paradise! Lush greenery draped over balconies, sparkling infinity pool reflecting the sun, and the scent of frangipani filling the air. From the first moment, though, the beauty paled in comparison to the warmth of the staff. Taranga, one of manager's, greeted us with a smile so bright it could have chased away monsoon clouds. He checked us in with the efficiency of a hummingbird, all while making us feel like long-lost friends. Thanks to you Taranga, the Golden Crown wasn't just a stunning hotel, it was a home away from home. We left feeling like we'd discovered not just a hidden gem, but a new family!
