I highly recommend the Sailors Mirissa Hotel for accommodation. It is located in the centre of Mirissa near several beaches. It takes ten minutes to get Cargill Food Cuty supermarket by walk. Two bus stations are located just opposite the central entrance to the Sailors Mirissa Hotel. Very beautiful view from the balcony to the Indian Ocean, palm trees and beaches. It takes just ten minutes by walk to reach popular Coconut Trees Hill, seven minutes - Turtle Beach and four minutes - the Parrot's Rock. Its host Mr. Kumara is very, very hospitable and warmly welcoming gentleman. The room is big with air conditioner, safe box, etc. You can easily reach Mirissa Harbour to watch whales and dolphins, Galle town and Fortress, Dondra Lighthouse and Sri Lankan the Southernmost point near it, temples with elephants. Very good!

• Affordable price, comparable to hostel dorms. • Owners were friendly and very helpful, even sweeping sand and adjusting the AC. • Room was super clean and smelled great. • Lockers in the room were large enough for electronics. • Fantastic location near great restaurants and the black sand beach. • The shower was amazing—long and hot, which I really needed after weeks of travel.

• The bed was a bit hard for my liking. • Some bugs in the bathroom, likely due to being on the first floor. • Noise from motorcycles and children outside. • Room could use more decorative touches for a sailor vibe.

The hotel is ina great location, just across the road from the beach and slightly up the road from the party places. It has great views of the sea and the staff were very nice. Good shower.

On the floor I was on was the 'reception' floor so if I did sit outside my room there was often people's things hung over the balcony. Wasn't a fan of seeing someone's underwear drying as I was trying to enjoy the view haha 😂 They didn't make up the second bed as I was only one person which was fine but the mattress was so stained and not particuarly pleasant to look at when in the room. The photos in my opinion are not a reality of the property but I would stay again.

First, i really appreciated the early check in as I was coming from just down the road. Friendly staff and location is great. Highly recommend requesting a room on the top floor-views are amazing and apparently all the upper floor rooms have recently been renovated, it was spotless. Wi-fi was also the best I’ve experienced in Sri Lanka.

The location was great. Just off the main road of Marissa with a great view of the ocean. The accommodation is basic but has all the essentials you need. The noise from the main road was not a problem for us. The host was very helpful and answered all our questions. Everything was clearly communicated. He helped arrange scooter rental for our stay and gave great recommendations for dinner. They even arranged a taxi for us last minute to Rekawa after our original driver let us down. Recommend if you looking for something simple and laid back with a friendly atmosphere.

Kumara, the owner is a very nice, interesting man. He arranged transport for us from Yala to Marissa and also from his hotel to Hikkaduwa. The premises was very clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the sea and a lane to the beach across the road. He also recommended a lovely family restaurant No.1 Dewmini Roti shop where we had very good traditional food, reasonably priced. His hotel is also good value.

The location was great, cross the road and you have access to the beach. Both Parrot's Rock & Coconut Hill were within easy walking distance as were lots of restaurants.

Our room was on the ground floor which was good as we didn't have to carry luggage upstairs but our room had no view or balcony... our door opened on to the carpark.

Kumara is an excellent host and helped us with early check in and even a room upgrade to have a better view. He is so friendly and helped us book a whale watching tour and advised us on which restaurants are worth a visit. The hotel itself is immaculately clean and the location is amazing. 1 minute walk and you’re at turtle beach. We walked to coconut tree hill, parrot rock and secret beach also from the hotel so really good location. So many restaurants right at your door so you’re spoilt for choice!

The place is amazing. The hot water, the A/C, the location, the spacious room, everything is nice. The view over the Mirissa Beach is just wonderful, especially if you are a surfer. You can check the spot from the room. The cherry on the top is the host "Kumara". An amazing person that will help you whatever you need. Glad to know him.
