The service at this hotel was absolutely exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, offering a level of comfort that far exceeded our expectations. The room and the hotel were outstanding, blending a charming colonial vibe with beautifully designed interiors. The lush garden, infinite pool, and direct access to the ocean added an extra layer of luxury to the experience. Everything was spotless, with our room cleaned twice daily, and the addition of aroma candles not only kept insects away but also enhanced the atmosphere. The location was fantastic—just a short walk to the city and the main beach, with other beaches and activities easily accessible by a quick Tuk Tuk ride. The breakfast was delicious, but what stood out most were the refreshing drinks, including fresh juices and smoothies, which we thoroughly enjoyed during our stay.

The only downside was that the Wi-Fi occasionally dropped off and wasn’t the fastest, though this seemed to be a common issue everywhere we stayed in Sri Lanka.

From the moment we arrived at Coco we were treated as if we were living in a private residence. The staff were absolutely amazing from start to finish - never on top of you but always there if you wanted anything. The hotel is absolutely brilliant, room is great, the pool is great, the setting is so nice and peaceful - and you’re located so close to the town that you can walk to many places (although you would never feel like it when at Coco. On the day of our arrival it was my girlfriends birthday and to our surprise they had arranged for a birthday cake to be made from scratch for when we arrived back after our dinner. They also set the table for us with flowers and made this really special. We only booked 1 week before arrival and given there are only 4/5 rooms, I can’t believe we were lucky enough for there to have been room available. Perfect stay.

I read comments about the rooms being a little small depending on how long you were staying for. I can understand this, however it was no problem for us. We spent a very small amount of time in our room. Bathroom was also very spacious.

Loved our stay at Coco! From the minute we arrived we were looked after. The staff were friendly and kind, and made the stay totally relaxing. Loved being able to access the beach, even though it's a rough part to swim in - there are little pockets to dip in and out of. But really you don't need it as you have the most beautiful pool. The food was delicious, we just had breakfast and lunches (as we ventured out to local beaches for supper and sunset - which isn't really viewable from Coco). They arranged massages for us, which were great. You really feel like you're living in a home.

The food was delicious and I only saw one menu for supper but it was a 3 course set menu - it might be nice to have the flexibility of a wider menu and not be restricted to having to have 3 courses?

This resort is a little slice of heaven! It is a very small, private villa with beautiful facilities and a stunning view. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. There is a great view over the ocean, with direct beach access from the resort (unfortunately you cannot swim in the beach directly outside because it's a bit rocky, but there are plenty of walkable beaches nearby). Coco Tangalla is everything you need for a romantic, quiet getaway :)

Dinner was a little bit expensive at the villa but there are plenty of restaurant options a short walk or tuk tuk away

The location and place itself are really beautiful. We got a free upgrade on the room which was great and the room and bathroom itself were really nice. The staff was also really polite and helpful.

The furniture and equipment could have been kept in better condition (sun lounges, umbrellas, etc.). We also had a problem with cockroaches living in the curtains, which unfortunately was not so pleasant. For the price we paid, we definitely expected a little bit more than what we got.

This place is really everything you read in the comments. So so so relaxing, the food is incredible and the location very good as well, near by restaurants and beaches like Silent beach or Goyambokka.

The room is a bit smaller than expected. We only stayed 2 nights, but if we had stayed more I think the size would have bothered me. For dinner, they have a daily menu that includes, starter, main and dessert for a fixed price. I think it should be nice that you can choose to have only the main. However as said before, food was really good.

Food and service were excellent. This hotel is very special and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. We had the larger room with balcony and it was fabulous. Quiet (could only hear the sea and birds) and huge comfortable bed with nets. A pleasant 20 minute walk to the atmospheric cafes, bars and restaurants on Tangalle beach. Beautiful pool, garden and beach for watching the sea (not swimming here although we swam in the next couple of bays to the West you can walk to).

Absolutely nothing to dislike.

The staff were absolutely incredible, very helpful and attentive - the service was 10/10. The pool and gardens were beautiful, a very nice relaxing place to spend the day. Room a little small if you like to spend a lot of time in your room, but the hotel is so lovely that it didn't bother us in the slightest. The turn down service was amazing too, morning and evening. Ensuring the mosquitos weren't a problem. Food was pretty expensive for Sri Lanka but again incredible and delicious.

Absolutely everything. The staff are great, property is just beautiful and I loved the location. Beach is rocky so unfortunately you can’t swim directly off the hotel beach and the rooms to the side aren’t large, but this doesn’t detract from the experience. Breakfast was great. We didn’t dine in for dinner as we wanted to try the local fish restaurant at the next beach.

We loved the peace and tranquility that Coco Tangalla made us feel. It is situated in a great location, with a beautiful pool area and beach access. The staff were wonderful and very generous, they made sure we were having the best time at all times. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tangalle and will definitely be back!
