Breakfast: plentiful and varied offering from croissants to traditional swedish breakfast foods to eggs and bacon. Hot and cold beverages offered. It is a good breakfast buffet. The view from many rooms is overlooking the oldest botanical garden in Sweden and the home/museum of Carl Linnaeus, botanist. The staff is in general friendly and attentive. If you need something, ask and they will let you know if it is possible or not. The rooms are simply and thoughtfully outfitted in contemporary design. Wooden floors, bathrooms, which are small but practical, are of good material.

I like this place - nothing not likeable. Go with the flow and it will becsn enjoyable experience. It gets quite busy on weekends/holidays, but that is not! a complaint!

Reception staff is great! Helpful, friendly - thet make an effort to accommodate guest needs. Management is the same. Good, casual atmosphere in public areas. It's a homey and good vibe place. Comfortable rooms/bedding, lots of public areas for relaxing, working, or mixing with others. Many rooms overlook the Linnaeus gardens - a delight. Location of hotel is very good - within the town center. Uppsala is a wonderful town for culture and leisurely strolls. I've enjoyed each of my stays her, si much so that I've occasionally added a day or to just for to relax at beginnng or end of my stay. Also, it's reasonably easy to get to ARN from here by public transport (bus, privste or public/train/taxi) I like everytjing about this place and look forward to returning.

Quirky, funky decor and general laid-back environment. Funky signs all over the place should cheer people who arrive tired from travel (see photo included). Lovely courtyard. Pretty good all-you-can-eat breakfast included in the price. Right next to the Linnaeus Museum and garden next door which was our reason for staying there. Also just round the corner from the superb Café Cari von Linné at Svartbäcksgatan 24 which is open all day and where we had lunch and supper (not to be confused with Café Linné Hörnan opposite).

Car parking needs to be booked well in advance. We had to use a public car park in the nearby shopping centre which was very expensive for 24 hours and added a lot to the room cost.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is delicious, with a wide variety of allergy-friendly items. Best of all, the location is superb, around the corner from Uppsala's delightful pedestrian promenade. The back of the building overlooks Linnaeus's botanical garden, one of the sites Uppsala is known for. As I awoke each morning I was serenaded by the birds in the garden, and it was a delightful place to walk in the early evenings. Great value for the price.

My only comment is that the outdoor courtyard (which is part of the restaurant/bar) could have been made more inviting. An attractive outdoor place to sit on a warm summer evening is a real plus in Scandinavia.

Large quiet hotel near centre of Uppsala with lovely, helpful, English-speaking staff. Bufet breakfast included with our room price. Room on 2nd floor had lift/elevator access and room could be entered using a plastic keycard. 24/7 reception. Room had comfy double bed with a small round metal table on each side of bed. En-suite bathroom with sink, toilet and good shower with hot water and good pressure. Rubbish bin in room and bathroom. Toilet paper and hand soap in bathroom. Towels provided. Bed had sheet, duvet and pillows. Plug sockets near bed. Open wardrobe to put clothes and bags. Tea/coffee/hot chocolate, fruit juices and snack food available at reception for a price. Hotel has bar on ground floor, they sell pizza. Hotel can be reached from train/bus station by bus or 5 mins by taxi. City Centre is a 5 minute walk from hotel. Many cafes and eateries very close to hotel. Would stay again. Free good speed WiFi in room.

Room was never cleaned during our 4-night stay. Towels were not changed. Had to ask several times to get extra toilet paper. Lobby extremely large. Hotel lacked atmosphere. Price is a little expensive. Only evening food option is pizza.

We wanted a hotel centrally located in Uppsala for an overnight stay so we could take part in the local parkrun. It was clear that staff had made effort to make the communal areas in the hotel really nice including lots of little touches. We enjoyed the breakfast and the bar area was welcoming. The corridors to the rooms and the rooms themselves felt like they were in a different hotel with, what felt like, less effort put in. Having said that they were certainly functional, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a stay in the area!

Checkout was 11:00. I would have preferred something later included in the price we had paid, after all it wasn't a budget hotel, but we did have the opportunity to pay extra to extend our checkout till 13:30 and we could do this in advance of check-in which meant I could relax knowing that we had some more flexibility with our onward travel plans.

As a former local in Uppsala (I was guest researcher there in 2022), the Botanika is my regular hotel when I have something to do in the city or want to see friends again. It is very centrally located in the middle of the city and the staff are always very kind and helpful. The rooms are quite simply furnished, but spacious for the price and always clean. The breakfast included in the price is not a run-of-the-mill buffet, it is always very well thought out, plentiful and freshly prepared (e.g. the shakshuka). The atmosphere in the lobby is also friendly and open-minded - I will gladly return here again and again. :)

We only had one large blanket in our double room - a second one was brought to us on request. You could consider providing the rooms with two blankets as standard when two people are registered. Other than that, I can't think of any suggestions for improvement!

The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, providing a perfect blend of comfort and style. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep, and the amenities provided were top-notch. I particularly appreciated the fast and reliable Wi-Fi, as well as the high-quality toiletries in the bathroom. In summary, Botanika exceeded all my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I will definitely be returning on my next visit

The hotel is very well located, really close to central Uppsala and many shops and restaurants. The staff was always super friendly and helpful. The thing I liked the most was the breakfast, it had many options and it was delicious, and they always had coffee and drinks at the reception. When it comes to the rooms, they are small but the bed was comfortable.

I visited in January, and the temperatures outside were of -10 C and below, since the heating is centrally controlled, you cannot change the temperature in your room, thus it can get a little chili (the good thing was that the blankets were quite warm). The bathroom was super tiny and the floor gets all wet once you take a shower.

I thought this was a lovely hotel. No hotel chain vibes here.. really welcoming lounge and bar area. Staff very nice. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Great location 15 mins from train station on foot and walkable to all things to see. I even walked back from Gamla Uppsala. Room was very comfortable with very comfortable bed. Bathroom small but compact was all that was needed because it was clean and good shower head. Oh and borrowed a hair dryer from reception. So it had everything.
