Breakfast was good, plenty of variety and was fresh

The staff in general were very pleasant and couldn't do enough for you, however the two owners/managers were so different, with one lady being very pleasant, helpful and always warm in her voice, but the other was the opposite and it could be seen in the way she spoke to staff as well as guests. I do not judge the whole experience on this one person, but the business should watch these interactions as others may be offput by same, but it wouldn't change my recommendation of this being an ideal choice

Everyone at the hotel was warm and friendly, and extremely helpful. This was my 3rd stay at this hotel, and the rooms and facilities have improved every time. The breakfast was superb, and the restaurant offered a varied evening menu at a reasonable price, and with excellent service. Engelberg is a very good centre for walking, and is well served by cablecars and other means of transport, and has a good free bus service around the resort. The Hotel Crystal is very well situated in the centre of the village, adjacent to the train station.

Couldn't fault the hotel.

The reception staff, particularly the two sister owners, were lovely. My mother's bag was delayed by KLM so she was without walking sticks. The hotel lent her sticks, enabling her to stick to our original holiday plans. We had a room with three single beds, a good-sized bathroom with a lovely big walk in shower and a balcony with views of mountains on three sides. The buffet breakfast gave a good variety of food and drink - the selection of local cheeses and fresh bread and fruit salad was especially nice. The restaurant in the hotel is fantastic. Some of the best meals I've ever had. The white asparagus and pork belly was delicious and the garlic and herb ravioli was mouth-watering. The position is perfect. The hotel is only 2 mins walk from the train station. Don't worry about train noise; it's the last stop on the line, there are only a few trains and only 2 lines - one in, one out. There is a free bus service from the train station to most of the cable car stops and sites.

We only had one very soft pillow each and the mattresses are a little firm - I understand this is all personal taste. 2 pillows would have been much more comfortable and I should have asked for another.

Very kind staff, great cleaning room service, perfect location just 1 min from train/bus station with bus connection to Titlis or Brunni ski area. Well equiped ski room. Nice balcony, could be useful during summer months. Hotel is located Approximately 5 minutes by walk from supermarkets.

Mattresses are not very comfortable for us. We missed vegetables for breakfast. There were just not tasty budget mini tomatoes 🍅 (1 day totaly without vegetables) - suggestion for improvement.

Staff were very helpful, location for hiking and taking the cable car. Close to train station and convenient to restaurant and convenience store Breakfast was versatile and delicious. I like how each room has an assigned table. I was able to leave my luggage in storage room when I went out for my hike.

Single bed. The windows don’t have screen and when I opened the window the street was noisy at night because of the restaurant/ hotel across the street

it was in a great central location, easy for skiing. Really clean and comfortable. the sauna and spa was immaculate. The hotel staff are outstanding- the restaurant waiters and waitresses Mikel and Astrid were beyond charming, friendly and great to chat too. Finally the reception staff were incredible. Nothing was to much bother for Fabienne and Milad even helped me with my skis to the train station so I didn’t miss my connection. what a superstar - thanks I got my flight. definitely will come back.

Breakfast was good with adequate choice. It was served in very nicely set up area.

Value for money is very subjective, but any hotel in Switzerland is expensive for foreign visitors. It would have been also nice if we had been advised of the availability of sauna at the checkin and that it was available only in the afternoon and evening.

Staff were very accommodating, breakfast excellent, staff helpful of our itinerary, room comfortable, everyday room was cleaned, food in the restaurant affordable, to stay in a room with is excellent overlooking the mountain

The staff was very friendly and the cleanliness was superb. They came every day to clean our hotel room. The location was outstanding, the view and everything else was very good. I would really recommend this hotel to other people.

There was nothing bad.

Hotel was conveniently located less than 5 minutes, across the train station, yet environment was generally quiet. I know from the map that the accommodation will be near the train station, but to my surprise, it was nearer than I expected. Staff are really nice. Room was really clean. Enjoy my one week's stay here in Engelberg.
