The hotel is extremely well located, across the river from the Hauptbahnhof, about 10 minutes walk away. The hotel is small (5 floors of 5 rooms) and quiet. The room was well furnished and comfortable . The hotel provided an adequate and tasty continental breakfast within the room price.

Note to travellers in Switzerland. The Swiss have their own style of electrical socket which is different to all other European countries. I had to buy an adaptor after I found that the adaptors that I had brought with me wouldn't fit the room sockets.

It was very close to Zurich’s centre but you don’t hear the trains in the room which is fantastic. It’s so easy to get to and it’s in the heart of everything. They keep bringing you more breakfast and the staff were so lovely and attentive. The breakfast was plentiful and anyone saying it was small probably asked for it to be delivered to their room which is an option but it’s worth going down and that’s when you get more. Beds very comfortable and pillows too. It was a work and leisure trip so it was perfect. 2 star but Zurich is higher quality.

The lift is a little small but this is a minor detail

The stuff very friendly and kind. Beautiful paintings in the room. Loved the vintage look of the hotel. The room is very comfortable, cozy, clean and good sized. Very close to all the attractions, walking distance. For all our stay we haven’t used taxi or other kind of transportation. Coffee shop next to the hotel was good to have cause we drink more coffees in a day. Very close to the main train station, 5 minutes walking. Delicious breakfast. This will be my first pick when I am back in Zurich. We just loved it. Best 2 stars hotel I’ve stayed in.

Wasn’t the best that the scrambled eggs were not included in the breakfast and we had to order separately. Will be best to have the option to choose between the scrambled eggs and boiled eggs for breakfast.

Once you look beyond everything being green and it bit old fashioned it's actually a nice well maintained hotel. Ideally located a few mins from Zurich HB and the main sights. There is a small lift to save carrying luggage up the stairs, although I did feel like I was walking into a cupboard rather than a lift. Rooms are compact but very clean and well equipped. Despite looking dated everything is in good working order and very tidy. I particularly liked the built in push button radio and bank vault style safe. Bathroom had everything needed and was spotless despite the 80's throwback look. Breakfast (continental) is included and very generous with croissants, bread, egg, cheese, jam, tea/coffee and juice. Great that it's available from 6am for an early start.

I do question why breakfast is so prescriptive. You are delivered your 1dl glass of orange juice, basket of pastries/bread and plate of cheese, jams, butter and an egg. I couldn't eat everything and didn't see anyone else who did either. This made me question why they don't lay it out as a buffet instead which would feel less formal and reduce waste.

This hotel felt like stepping back into the 1970s, but in a good way. The staff were friendly and warm. The room, albeit a bit small, was very comfortable. The location was excellent. Normally, I hate it when hotels have the system in which you have to leave the key at the front desk every time you leave, but they streamlined it so nicely by remembering your face and having the key ready to go as you walk in the door. All around a great place to stay.

My only nitpick would be that the bathroom was a bit small, but definitely not small enough to be worthy of a major complaint.

Hotel Arlette is a lovely traditional hotel and I found the service to be impeccable. The location also couldn't really have been better. Close to attractions and near to the train station (without being too near). A pleasant walk into the old town was just a few minutes. Staff were helpful and attentive, and lent me a plug adapter. My room was comfortable with everything I needed. Breakfast was nice. The included breakfast consisted of bread, rolls, croissant and cheese and spreads, a boiled egg, juice and tea/coffee. For a small fee you could add other things like omelettes/scrambled eggs. Would certainly recommend and I would have been happy to stay for longer if I had longer in Zurich.

Best location ever. Not having visited Zurich before I had no real idea of areas. Could not have been more perfect. Easy walking distance to all tourist attractions. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast was perfectly fine. For the price (compared to others hotels), this is ideal if you are wanting a simple room with bed and bathroom and a clean place to stay. Staff were incredibly friendly and always pleasant. Umbrellas available for use on rainy days. This is not your chain hotel but I have zero complaints about it. Location is amazing.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel had a lovely welcoming vibe to it, as a solo traveller this hotel was perfect and not even a five minute walk from the central train station. The room was cleaned daily and done exceptionally well and it was perfectly warm which is great for winter visits

The only thing I wasn't keen on was the sachet of body wash (it was quite small). You leave your room key at reception but I got used to this quickly and found it easier as you don't have the risk of losing it otherwise

I truly enjoyed my stay in Hotel Arlette. The hotel is strategically located in the city centre and is only 3-min walk to Zurich HB central train station. Best value for money! The room is super clean and quite spacious for a 2-star hotel. It has everything you need, including aircon (which was super helpful during crazy hot summer in Zurich that can reach 33 degree C). The hotel also has an elevator, so if you bring a big luggage you can take the elevator. The receptionists are warm, friendly, and helpful. I could check in early at around 11 am without additional charge. When they saw me bring a takeaway pizza box, they offered me to use the microwave to heat it. And free breakfast! (Though I was in a rush to catch a train in early morning, so I skipped breakfast & could not comment on it)

This is a lovely small hotel owned by a family on a quiet street right near old downtown and the train station. We were so impressive with all the detail to cleanliness and visitor comfort. The rooms have everything one could need at a reasonable price. The breakfast service was very pleasant and we enjoyed the small hotel experience. The staff is helpful and will answer any questions. I would recommend this property to anyone travel alone and/or seeking a smaller hotel experience with all the benefits of a higher priced hotel. It is very close to the train station and restaurants are nearby. You do not need a vehicle to get to the hotel and can walk from the train station to the hotel. We loved our stay with this hotel and used it on both ends of a trip to Switzerland where we fly into Zurich.
