The staff is definitely the best! Joe, Robert and Ely are such a cool guys and they are all available to help you in everything. The breakfast is very good aswell! Is a very quiet hotel for those who are looking for it. Ely makes the best Brazilian Caipirinhas!

The accommodation and the room were nice in general but there was no hot water for 2days to take shower which wasn’t good. The Wi-Fi connection is not good so I recommend you to get a TIGO data SIM ( staff can help you to get one) The food and Cocktails prices on bar are very expensive comparing other Hotels. Most of the 5 stars hotels around have the food and cocktails cheaper. I would suggest to cut some of the small trees around the pool so you could see the amazing beach in front while you swim or enjoy the pool.

Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and a calm area to relax in the sun. They offer free Kayaking and Bikes.

Lovely boutique hotel with lovely staff. Very clean room and all communal areas very well looked after. All neat and clean. Breakfast with the best view. Very peaceful. Not tried the pool but was great lounging under the palm trees on the authentic looking deckchair overlooking the sea. Bliss. Limited breakfast options but enough choice for my 3 day stay. Offered packed breakfast on my departure day as I left very early, at 5am. Would definitely go back to Zanzibar Magic again!

Wi-fi in my room was unstable, but it is a general problem everywhere in Africa. Not the hotel's fault.

The actual hotel and rooms are beautiful. The food at the restaurant is divine and the waiters & waitresses were lovely. Having breakfast with the view of the beach each day was incredible. The hotel was exceptionally clean and well looked after.

The location was a bit far out from some of the places we visited. The hotel was quiet, there was no music. This wasn’t a bad thing, it was quite peaceful but if you prefer somewhere with more atmosphere and a vibe then this perhaps wouldn’t be the hotel for you.

Hotel was beach front and the views are spectacular from the bar area! The room was a good size and it was clean. The staff keep it running really well and they're all a great asset to the hotel. It has a small pool ample sized for the 20 room hotel. We didn't have to think about a space to sunbathe, plenty of space. There was a guy next to the hotel in a beach shack seeking tours half the price of the hotel, so don't pay hotel prices as they're almost double the price.Close to most excursions- all about an hour and a half away. Staff are really excellent and the food was so tasty and fresh. They have a brilliant chef!! We had an Anniversary cake and the staff sang to us. Was brilliant 👏

We pretty much enjoyed all of it. When we arrived we were served a welcome drink and told the breakfast would be extra today as we had only paid for 7 nights and arrived at 9am on the day. It was a bit of a negative start as I've travelled the world and usually a breakfast is offered or at least some fruit. Hotel prices are steep in my opinion for the room, food and drink. They charge 5% on any card payment so make sure you have CASH.. shillings or dollar. Rooms need renovation work. The verandah is run down with old furniture and very uncomfortable. There are no handrails at all down to the beach or to the rooms. My husband is disabled and struggled a bit. It didn't spoil anything, however he did fall twice.

Zanzibar Magic Boutique hotel was the perfect stop on our honeymoon to Zanzibar. The staff were so friendly, the food amazing and the location was right on the beachfront. Matemwe beach is quieter than Nungwi or kendwa but the sea was lovely to swim in.

There were a few power cuts but we were told this was for the whole island, not just the hotel.

Clean pool and long wide white sandy beach were perfect for us, traveling with our 8 year old. Clean room, AC and confortable beds. New/renovated property. Friendly staff always available and helpfull.

Breakfast is a la carte, offering a limited array of products. Restaurant is 50 to 100% more expensive compared to local restaurants in the village (Depending on what you order - I compared same products or similar) Not related to the hotel, but a thing to consider for the avid open water swimmer: huge difference between low and high tide, so imposibble to swim at low tide (water goes out to see for about 1km). Full of sea urchins, so water shoes in your bag are a must.

the rooms were lovely and comfortable with an amazing view, staff at the restaurant and bar were friendly and helpful. go there if you want a quite experience. nice beach to experience the tides. we had a great reef walk by a local tour guide on the beach.

although the food was amazing. the food and drinks were quite expensive compared to other places. The hotel is beautiful but for families who like lots of water sport and activities, we preferred the northern beaches like kendwa. we had a few issues when paying. we had to leave early and couldn’t get a refund. we were double charged at the end, but the owners picked that up before we did and reversed the charges.

Everything was so so perfect. The waiters and all staffs were extremely friendly and cheerful. Breakfast was very good, however they need to have variety other than the same breakfast menu every day. Dinner was extremely delicious and a large helping. The beach was perfect. I am looking forward to my next visit at the same place. Extremely cordial and friendly environment.

Everything about the place was positive. It is very ecological. I m surprised to note in other reviews of requirement of air condition. Truly the cross ventilation of breeze is absolutely perfect. In fact, we had to switch off the fans at night!!.
