This resort is absolutely amazing and has everything you need for a great holiday. You wouldn't even need to book any tours if you stay here as they keep you fed, entertained and comfortable every second of the day. The staff is so friendly and there is so much to do. 4 swimming pools, 4 restaurants, 5 bars and endless entertainment that is all provided on the RIU app. There is a wide spread of food at the main restaurant and three other restaurants that you can make a reservation at. The views are breath-taking and the resort is super fun with water sports, yoga, beach volleyball, board games, and different entertainment every night. You wont go wrong with the RIU group!

Though there was a huge variety of food, we are from South Africa and found almost everything very bland. We added pepper and salt to almost every meal and searched for more spices to add to our meals. Most breakfasts, lunches and dinners had the same type of food every day so you don't get to taste different foods. The snack bar during lunches also has the same food and snacks every single day. It would be great to have different things so people don't get bored of what they're eating. Especially for those who are stay for 7 days ore longer.

I really liked the property. It is clean, modern, and new.

What I really didn’t like about the property was how some staff treated the Black people differently. Some were told to cover up while many white or European people were literally wearing thongs. Also the music at the outdoor food corners did not display any African culture. No African music. Just odd. There was no African food in the buffet. People come to Africa to experience the culture in addition to its beauty. Riu Jambo completely missed the mark in that area. Besides that if you’re looking for a European experience in Africa, this place is just for you.

Perfectly located on a beautiful beach. The restaurants are amazing with huge portions of really special foods! The staff are what make this hotel so special though, from the morning “Jambo” from the room attendants, to the bar and restaurant staff we all knew by name by the end of our holiday. Immaculate throughput and so beautiful, including the rooms. We didn’t venture too far from the jetty bar, the vibe was so relaxed and the outlook just stunning. We did try to the hotel entertainment one night though, and this was brilliant! All in all I would recommend to couples, friends and families, perfect hotel x

It was 1.5 hour from the airport, but with the drive

We had the chance to get upgraded with a sea view room on the 9th floor so the sea view was stunning 😍 The room was perfect ( clean, confortable bed, with balcony...) The food on the main restaurant ( buffet) was correct The food of the asian restaurant was average The food of the local restaurant was so delicious The staff are super cool, energetic and always paying attention when we need something The sea was amazing ❤️ The pools are average The activities are so diverse and cool

If you want some calm don't choose this huge hotel Electricity cuts many times per day and sometimes lasts too long The acoustic isolation is to improve ( we can easily hear neighboors by the AC tube) The towels quality isn't good (we had torn towels...!)

The People are very friendly and welcoming. From Check In to Check out it was good Congratulations to HSK My recommendation to the Front desk a refreshing welcome drink would have been perfect especially after a long day of travel

The buffet at Maisha Restaurant there’s space for improvement on quality, selection and style. After I left riu jumbo stayed on another hotel in Zanzibar of same style and price range etc and the buffet was super from the selection, quality and style.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are really spacious, there’s 4 pools to choose from, and the beach is stunning. There was never a shortage of sunbeds and the service from the staff was brilliant. Food was tasty and the snack bar on the beach was great for throughout the day. We arrived before check in at around 11am on the first day and left at 11pm on our last day but were still able to use all the facilities without any issue. Thank you RIU Jambo for a lovely holiday!

There is a new building or resort being built next door so it was noisy at some points but of course this isn’t the fault of the hotel. Although the food was tasty, some of the options did get quite repetitive.

My family and I stayed at Riu Jambo for 4 nights and we absolutely loved it. All inclusive literally means "All inclusive" in that there were no hidden costs, food served was really delicious and the availability of snacks and drinks the whole day was a bonus. The hotel has an amazing beach with white sands and azure ocean, it was a really amazing view, especially at sunset! The five pools, kids activities, water gymnastics and other sports activities really added value to our stay.

The only negative I have is that the hotel does not have designated smoking areas, which would have really made it more child friendly.

Absolutely everything is great! The best all inclusive hotel with affordable pricing. The staff is super friendly, the ladies at the Bar in the lobby were so nice and taught me and my friend some swahili. the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet is full of options, we got confused seeing so much food and everything tastes amazing. We also tried to Asian restaurant and the Kulinarium the food was divine. Some of the activities offered by the scruba caribe (water sport) are included in your package and those that are not are affordable like snorkeling (you have to do this!!) and Sunset Catamaran. i will definitely come back to this hotel the next time i come to Zanzibar.

No african music being played, so bring your music box/bluetooth speakers along.

Nothing much, just that they needed to play more afrobeats and Amapiano since it’s in the centre of Africa. It’s an opportunity to introduce visitors to the flaivour of Africa. They need to be intentional about this

The resort is very well managed and the property is in tip-top shape. The rooms were nice and modern and the staff was friendly and professional. The location on the beach is beautiful.

-Personally, I would have appreciated some non-smoking zones in the bar areas and the pool/beach chair areas. Outside of the main restaurant, it was difficult to escape the second-hand smoke. -The beach lounges were all on top of each other, unlike some of the other resorts that had more personal space for guests. -Also, it would be great to have more sit- down dinner options. -The hawkers on the beach were annoying, but that’s out of the resort’s control—although the resort security guards did a good job of keeping them at bay around the property.
