breakfast was great. I got to order an omelet, soup or noodles dish, and much more. Fresh fruit every morning and steamed milk for my coffee are an added touch. The massage I received was wonderful and a shower available. I took a tour of Battambang Bat cave in a private van.

The first night I couldn't sleep. The locals were celebrating the last day of the Kmer New Year Festival which was great but there is a speaker store across the street that capitalized on the festivities to promote their product by playing music way too loud throughout the night. Even with earplugs and a headset, it was extremely loud. They did quiet down around 11 but then the music started up again. It was a rough night.

Everything was great. The room was absolutely beautiful. The facilities far outdid out expectations, we had an outside area overlooking the garden, bath and separate shower, lots of space in the room as well. The swimming pool is a beautiful space and good size given the limitations of the small site. The staff were all polite and better English speakers than we had come across in other parts of Thailand. The breakfast also exceeded out expectations. We had read negative reviews of it, I found it to be delicious, nice mix of Thai and western options.

Only issue, and the reason why we marked the cleanliness down one point, was that a pair of boxers, presumably from a previous guest, had been left tucked right under the sink. Easy to miss I suppose, and the rest of the room appeared spotless, but worth mentioning since it was the only negative.

We loved the very central location of Viangluang Resort. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you need an umbrella or to weigh your luggage they can assist immediately. It is easy to access all of the attractions of Old Town and its surrounding area.

The hotel had a significant number of families with younger children staying during our time there. This lead to loud shouting at the pool in the afternoon, when we were often taking a break from touring. The breakfast food was very good if like Asian options. The European options were more limited. The breakfast area was often crowded.

Excellent service from staff. Unique resort with ancient feeling. Comfortable beds. Very clean and in between room cleaning service was out of this world! The staff even laid out our toothbrush perfectly everyday! Located on a quiet road, short walk to restaurants and shops. The Sunday Walking street market is pretty close by so it was handy. Good breakfast buffet with variety of options.

There is no lift so have to walk up the stairs to second and third floor. Maybe not suitable for those who need mobility assistance. In saying that, staff helped with taking up and down the luggage which was super helpful.

Liked everything. The room, the breakfast, the pool, the location...

Brilliant location, right near What Chedi Luang and the night market, really central, but set back on a quiet street so quiet as well. We walked all over the city and couldn't imagine a better location from which to start each day. The room was comfortable, the balcony was lovely, and the pool was a welcome respite midday when it got hot. We checked out several other similarly priced and decorated hotels, and they all lacked a little something, like lush palms in the courtyard or the quiet street. Breakfast good too, chinese dishes mixed with fruit and and some western items as well., though I regret filling up on hotel breakfast in a city with so much good food! Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Like many places it seems, there's not a lot of warm water in the showers, so it was better to shower after getting back from a long hot walk than first thing in the morning.

Viangluang Resort is a gorgeous, grand traditional hotel, with dark, glossy wood design elements, like wood balconies, wood furniture, carved wood doors, as well as a verdant green garden walk full of green palms and jungle vines. The room was very comfortable and included a bathtub. We didn't make use of the pool, it being the rainy season, but it would be a great place to cool off in the city on a hot day. The staff were friendly and kind. We didn't make use of the breakfast, as we had booked a sunrise tour from 5-10am. If we had thought of it the day prior, the restaurant would have been able to prepare us breakfast boxes. The location is probably the best thing about the hotel. It's located in a wonderful part of the Old City, a short walk from restaurants, street food, cafes, temples, shops, massage parlors, spas, and more, and is only steps away from a well-stocked 7-11, outside of which there are also two ATMs!

The staff are lovely friendly people, and their English is very good when it comes to the most commonly asked questions. If you have an unusual request, be prepared to have a little patience and use a translation app, as they might have trouble with it. The only real downside for us was the shower, which was a bit finicky with temperature.

Wonderful location just a minute walk to the exquisite Wat Chedi Luang which was having a festival that was fascinating, and a close walking distance to many other gorgeous temples. A minute off a main road but quiet and lovely. I would stay here again. We liked having a balcony to sit out on as well.

Pool closes too early (7:00) The bedroom floor was super polished and slippery. Even my 25-year-old son who is a rock climber and very sure-footed commented on this. There is no elevator which didn't bother us but if you have mobility issues it could be a challenge.

Ploy sorted out private tours for us with our own driver rather than having to go on a coach trip and recommended a wonderful restaurant which we visited every night . Rin booked restaurants for us and was also very helpful Lovely massage place across the road and a laundry very close by

The location was off a very busy street and full of tourists. Would have preferred a quieter place. Not many choices on foot for nice restaurants for us . Not the fault of the hotel which was great however

The staff were wonderful and very helpful! The rooms were presented beautifully, were comfortable and spacious! Loved that the rooms all face a courtyard where the beautiful pool is with beautiful landscaping and every room has a porch or balcony. The grounds, facilities, and rooms over all are very clean. It is a calm and quiet space. I felt safe and comfortable there. A/C works well. Beds are comfortable. Beautiful buffet breakfast that was included.

This wouldn't stop me from going again, just something to improve on. The shower doors didn't always close all the way and the calking in the shower was dirty, could use some new application. The shower water needed better temp control, it was either too hot or too cold. Again I would still stay there, this didn't out weigh all the wonderful parts at all.
